According to fb someone mentioned they are searching with a "professional search team" today. First I've heard of that. I'm assuming this is something more than local investigators. I hope it is anyway.
WHEN i heard it on the news the group is from Ky. I think this is the group that started after a Ky girl was murdered and TES came up. They started the group and went to Tx and trained under Tim. If this is the group Im thinking of.

I knew about the story right away and early on it was said that some men over heard a loud argument between Kristy and the couple she was with. That was the first I heard of it and immediately the friend she was with commented on the fb page that this was a huge exaggeration and then called it a small dispute. Then it was all deleted. Checking the friend's fb, she doesn't seem like someone I would suspect but I would be interested in what the witnesses think they saw as far as an argument.

Could be minimizing to avoid suspicion. What if it the argument was over 'her man'? As they say, hell hath no fury. Just ask Erin Corwin. And Heather Elvis. And...And...And...

Oh! Right! All along it's been said that the doors were locked from the inside. How did she leave without them knowing? Wouldn't she have needed them to unlock the door for her to get out? I have been in similar situations, hanging with a bartender I knew close to closing after last call and they've had to let me out due to the locked door. So I don't think someone grabbed her from inside as they'd have needed a key. Unless the person who grabbed her worked there and did have a key. Otherwise, how did she leave without them letting her out?

Midwest,
My post (#479), I've got the key dangling in the lock inside (LOL), but maybe that is unrealistic.

Unless this is an accident,I think if there is a perp it is someone local that would be familar with the stripper pits.

I've seen the push bar locks on doors in commercial establishments. To lock them an Allen key is used to keep the "horizontal bar" in the up position which locks the door, to open from the inside you just push the handle. You see them used in emergency exits .

I guess we have no local VFW members in this forum who would be able to confirm the door situation, do we?

I agree. She stopped on the way home and picked up someone she knew.......or.....she saw someone she knew as she was leaving the VFW or as they were walking down the street and offered them a ride to wherever they lived. It just so happens this ride went right past 2 cameras, as if she was headed home.

It makes sense to me that law enforcement would put the word out to the public that they need information on anybody that came home Friday morning after 3 or 4 A.M., drunk, agitated, or evasive. This person probably would have had a pretty long walk from "somewhere".

Somebody that missed work on Friday morning would also be worth checking out.

Thoughts and prayers with the families &search parties today. It's extremely hot today in the area. Really wish I could've assisted in one of searches. I've been a member her since Caylee and never experienced cases so close to home or so many at once;(

The door that I think she most likely left from is in one of her pictures. Can you all view that on fb? It is not the kind with a push bar. It is full glass and she could easily see in or out. Doesn't mean that is the door she left from. But that's the door shown in the photo anyway.

Whats the deal with the cleaning guy? Was he the last person to see her? Does he have a record? I'm assuming he has already been questioned but....

  • #492
Behind her in the photo there also appears to be two doors (looks to be a girl's and a guy's bathroom). It would make sense for her to leave out of this doorway you see in the fb picture.

Any reports of possible police impersonations in the area?

There was one in June of this year about 20 minutes away but as far as I know, he's still in jail.

Does her home have a garage? Did she normally park in the driveway, or garage? Could someone have been lying in wait for her there?

I checked the street that I believe she lives on (there are two houses listed for her on the same street based on public records) and I didn't see any garages, it looks like most park on the street or have a garage in the back.

Also, I would love to know the ex's address. I know I'm not allowed to sleuth him. Just trying to get the big picture.

If you know his name, you can find it on Doxpop.com in public records.

Last I heard, LE was looking at Kristy's phone and trying to get it open because it was password protected. I read that on the FB page. But I also read that Kristy's dad said something about a text message they had seen on her phone. Does anyone know anything about the phone yet? Seen any updates on this?

Someone on the FB group said they had gotten into it.

Also, someone asked earlier about an aerial search. Also according to the fb page early on, they said they will not search by helicopter unless or until they have narrowed down a specific area in which they suspect she might be.

I was thinking more like private planes. There are plenty of people around here who have Cessnas, prop planes, crop dusters, etc. Might be a more efficient way to find a vehicle.

Has anyone here found any potential links yet between any of these missing ladies?

NO. There are a few ridiculous articles full of speculation floating around, but no one has found any real link yet.

I think you totally missed my point. 20 minutes is plenty of time to disappear but is it plenty of time for someone to

1. Notice someone's gone (how long was she gone before she noticed?)
2. Go back and continue doing whatever it was she was doing (how long did this take?)
3. Return and notice someone is still gone
4. Go to parking lot and notice vehicle gone
5. Everybody locks up and leaves

I still think it's enough time. But like I said when I responded earlier, it may not have been exactly 20 minutes. Could have been more.

Are there any state parks around there?

If you get on the interstate and go east, there is the Hoosier National Forest. But that's a pretty good distance away.

I think you have to have a paid account to access Doxpop. My mom uses it for her work.

What about Lincoln State Park? That's only about 25 minutes up the highway.

They have an account option that gives you 6 searches per month for free, 20 for your first month.

About the cell phone, I would be curious to know where it was found in the restroom, if the cell phone was found inside or outside a restroom stall, and if there are any cabinets in the restroom.

Another thought to consider. If she had too much to drink or was feeling queasy, could she have accidentially went into the mens restroom instead?

I don't see a problem with the cleaning guy cleaning the bathroom before Kristy having last used it. The place was slow, they were planning on closing early. It makes sense to me that he would go in there and clean it up for the night, with only one female patron in the bar. Anything she would leave out of place could easily be cleaned up in the morning before the bar opens again. IMO. So I can see why the phone wasn't found until the next day.

I agree with Midwest's husband's co-workers. I think the left town, I think she is further away then they first thought. Lincoln State Park, and that other public Forest or whatever mentioned above, I can't remember the name of it. (Sorry, I have the mind of a sieve, everything runs right through it.) I hope those areas are being checked cuz she might have just decided to take a drive and planned on coming back but was in an accident or something out there.

In Jennifer Huston's case, we had a sense that the family was holding back something, holding back some information, and as it turned out, we were right, she was depressed or deeply sad. Some of us didn't seriously consider suicide, while others caught the "she's been sad lately" and figured out she was suicidal. But it doesn't seem like that's the case in Kristy's story. So I'm not thinking suicide is likely. So many of her friends are saying she was uber responsible and wouldn't leave her children. So I have to believe that. It pretty much takes her running off and suicide out of the equation.

What's left? Accident or abduction. We have the car thing. In an abduction, the car would have been found by now, because abductors don't want the car, they want the driver. The car could be ditched anywhere and it wouldn't lead back to the abductor.

I can't rule out accident because she could have just gone for a drive somewhere, to clear her mind, to listen to her radio, to relax, something. And if she did that, she could have had an accident.

Pretty much, these are the two main possibilities the way I see it. IMO.

I'm a lurker but thought I would respond to a few questions. I live in Boonville and have been helping with the search.

- Someone mentioned aerial searches. They have been doing these with a private plane since she went missing. I haven't seen any go over in a few days but they may just be looking in other locations.

- I believe her phone was found on the bathroom counter, as if she set it down to wash her hands and forgot it.

- All roads in the county have been searched by car at least once and in some cases more than once. People have also searched around lakes, looking for tire tracks or disturbed vegetation. One day there were over 600 people out driving and on foot looking last week. Many locations such as parking garages, car lots, parking lots and the areas between Boonville and Evansville have also been searched.

- There was also an ATV ride a few nights ago with over 100 ATVs showing up and searching hard to reach areas all over the county.

- There aren't really any deep lakes in town that she may have gone into. Even city lake probably isn't deep enough to conceal a car.

- There are a ton of lakes in the county, probably over 100, but most are not right up on the road so driving into one on accident seems like a long shot. My mind keeps going to Bluegrass Fish and Wildlife area. It is remote, though only 10 min from Boonville, there are over 28 pits and deep lakes in the area, and the road is really bad. You are always weaving to avoid potholes. There are a lot of deer and other wildlife running around. There are some big lakes right up on the road out there. It is the way I usually take to Elberfeld, but I certainly wouldn't drive out there in the middle of the night. It's too desolate! I think there are 2500 acres out there, 600 acres of it is water, and much of it hard to get to unless you are on foot or on an ATV. I can absolutely see an accident with a deer running across the road, but I can't imagine why she would be out there in the middle of the night.

It is really a shame she left her phone behind, but on the other hand, locating it should mean fairly easy access to calls and texts. But pings would have been better, since LE can generally obtain phone info eventually anyway, depending upon laws. With the phone not being with her, no way to trace her movements, since it does not appear her car has GPS. Hoping they can get warrants for phone records of anyone she was in touch with that night, or anyone she communicated with who may have has an issue with Kristy.
