In Regards to the post regarding a plea bargain for Beckley:

Sorry to admit but I did a bad update. The case above this one in my update list follows this one closely and I just screwed up. :( I flagged the post to have it removed.

She did not take a plea and her proceedings stand as they were. Everything I posted previously is correct. Here are the correct entries.

It gave me one of those "OMG... what have I done" spells. When I do updates, I generally only have that one tab open and enter the case number so I don't mix cases up. smh...

I think we still have two trials pending:

1) Talitha Beckley has never waivered since entering not guilty and awaits trial; and

2) Ashley Garth lost her generous deal and re-entered her not guilty plea and also awaits trial.

Correct - sorry for that! :)

No changes on the dates. It's kind of ironic, imo, that Garth is the only one who appears to be still running free.

What would be her advantage to offering a plea? With Indiana courts dealing with Covid again, it will probably be a while before she gets a jury trial date.

If she's been good, she could be out of Rockville in a couple of months:
DOC Number 254504
First Name TALITHA
Middle Name A
Last Name BECKLEY
Suffix
Date of Birth 08/07/1982
Gender Female
Race White
Facility/Location Rockville Correctional Facility
Earliest Possible Release Date * 03/05/2021

TB is the defendant that yelled out at her daddy in the gallery at the hearing held at the end of June 2019.

TB's the mystery.... she's definitely in no hurry to leave jail and sure doesn't seem like daddy (or mommy) was eager to get her out of jail either.

She was reportedly at the residence when the victim was brought to the house and only charged with assisting a criminal, 5th-degree felony -- the same charge as Jasmine Parker, the habitual offender that pled guilty and sentenced to 4 years.

I don't know what kind of a record TB has but I think she must either feel pretty confident that she will be acquitted and/or in no hurry to be released from jail.

She also appears to be the "no snitch" hold-out or maybe she's avoiding the more serious chatter about manufacturing meth if she just sits back and waits her turn.

I have to admit that this DA makes me nervous after the deal they initially made with Ashley Garth. If TB was allegedly assisting criminal Garth that was later given a deal, maybe TB believed charges against her were weak. Nonetheless, I'm really glad that Garth violated the terms of her release and is being charged accordingly. Her DNA proved she had her hands on/around Nicole's neck. She's bad, bad, news.

MOO

If I'm reading her cases right, TB is currently serving a sentence in Rockville from this earlier case in Pulaski County. I don't think she has any choice of staying in jail or not. Vinelink has her currently in Newton County jail but the DOC shows her as sentenced to Rockville until the earliest release date of 03/05/2021.

Thank you, @FrostedGlass!

I can't find the year? If this year, she was out of jail on Oct 12 when the alleged burglary occurred?
If true I completely missed that and believed she'd been sitting in jail for more 18+ months!

If I'm reading the MyCase info via the link correctly, it looks like the burglary took place in October 2018, a few months before Nicole was murdered, but the case was not decided until January of 2020. MOO.

Of course I can't access the link....

So - @FrostedGlass - any updates on the next hearing for Beckley? When you have time - no rush!
TIA!

Yes, that's how I understood it. Here are the happenings prior to the murder:
On 2/04/2019, the state objected to her motion to be released on her own recognizance but the court did give her the opportunity to see if she was eligible for the Pre-Trial Release Program. It appears that she was approved as per the entry on 03/08/2019.

I'm really curious as to who put the No Contact Order on her but it was removed from INCITE not too long ago. I had no idea a person could look up No Contact orders.

The second set of numbers in a case is the date of the case (1810= Oct 2018)
