Found Deceased IN - Paul Etter wanted for Kidnapping, Tippecanoe County, 22 June 2019

  • #861
I have had a thought. With the knowledge that PE took his victim back to her car after abducting her in handcuffs to his shed - could he have had a vehicle on the private road and smashed and tossed Libby's phone away in "the general area" before also abducting them back to his shed. Returning them via the cemetery to the area he took them from (like he did with the woman victim) but then killing them there in the woods in a physchotic episode. He liked the woods and Harry Potter. I know it sounds crazy but he was crazy.

Taking the woman back to her car after 5 hours was risky because she had called her friend already and LE could have already been searching for all he knew. Listening to scanners would have kept him aware of police activity both in the rape case and in the Delphi case and would even explain knowing the Delphi search was called off at midnight.

MOO his reply message on WFLI comments had a kind of dark humor about it.
I response to being told to turn himself in or kill himself by a poster named Frank he posted
"Frank T. Bodilla. Thanks Frank, but I think I will go sightseeing around the county."

That's a wiseguy type threat. Stating the posters exact name = I know where you live.

The WLFI page uses the facebook comment plugin for commenting, and when you reply to a reply in facebook, it autofills the username of the person to whom you are replying.

Interesting.
I looked at the WLFI /Facebook comments format. The text of the name Etter was replying to was within Etter's typed text block.
MOO the name of the person Etter was replying to was typed by Etter as emphasis
as the opening words of his comment.

Yes. A criminal could be roughly aware of police positions by listening to a scanner - and maybe that is the reason Etter took her back to her car.
MOO however in the case of Delphi, only the official search was called off at midnight. In reality the woods were still full searchers: rangers, other police, friends etc.. In the Virtual Detective interview Leazenby confirms
this.

If you reply to a comment, the name of the person you are replying to is auto filled exactly as you just described. The bolded part is Facebook automatically tagging them.

The first comment was posted by Etter -

1. Etter's posted a comment, his name bold, autofilled in blue as a heading above his comment.

2.WLFI poster replied to Etter, Poster's name in name is bolded, autofilled in blue as a heading above his comment which is indented to indicate it being a reply.

3. Etter replied to WlFI poster, Etter's name is bolded, autofilled in blue as a heading above his comment which is indented to indicate it is a reply to the WLFI poster.

MOO Etter typed the WLFI poster's full name as opening words of his text reply.

Yes I know that, but I have just seen an MSM video report where the reporter said she had spoken to a group of searcheers who were still out looking at 4.30 a.m. on the 14th that didn't even know the girls, so there were strangers out there in the middle of the night - and no LE, that's my point really. Etter's MO returned the woman he attacked to the abduction site, which is strange, unusual, risky and got him caught ultimately . AJMO

So you are thinking he brought them
back alive and marched them to the place where they were killed - probably from the cemetery.
TOD by the medical examiner would likely reveal whether that was a possible scenario. MOO since TOD hasn't been released, from what we know it could have happened, risky but fairly consistent with Etter's crime.

I'm just not discounting that possibility anyway until TOD is known. He is a local really, having also lived in Flora, so he could have explained any presence of his in the area as being part of the search. Just a thought that I had re shed/handcuffs/abduction and return/unicorns and general craziness. AJMO.

What sort of crap do you mean? From the media or SM? She is anonymous so how could that happen?

GH addressed this in his video. Her screenshots have been shared all over the internet, her name not redacted. If you would like to delve into this more then I suggest you speak to her, the poster.

The Delphi girls were killed within minutes of the video, per LE.

New 'Face' of the Delphi Murder Suspect

This is the face of the suspect that goes with body of the video captured on Liberty German's cell phone minutes before she and Abigail Williams were murdered

If it is him, then this is over and he will kill nobody else again.

that is reassuring.

Gee I am so so sorry that our member here received such a negative outcome because GH did not black out that info on the screen shot. There is little surprise that sluether's sleuth. FYI I did not notice that info in the video so I am not a great sleuther I guess. There are lessons to be learned here. Shame on GH if he faulted anyone but himself for that little oops. Admit your mistake and carry on.

I would still like to know official TOD from autopsy. I cannot even now be sure that the time of the video is 2.30 because I have recently seen A MSM report saying the SC was 2.30 when previously it was stated as 2.07.
To me, the times have been all over the place, including the VOI from 12 midday to 5 p.m.
He also could still have killed them within minutes and brought them back overnight. He only lived 10 miles from the crime scene.

I'm not actually willing to rule any scenario out FTB because the info can always change, like the sketch for example. If we had autopsy info that would be different, obviously.

All we have on TOD from the autopsy report is that it was the 13th. Plus, the word of LE that it was in minutes. I've never thought the bodies were moved, based on weight and the difficult terrain. moo

It’s very unfortunate that her name was not redacted before sharing those screenshots. It would have been nice if GH ensured her privacy before publishing those messages. She may have been instrumental in helping LE eventually locate him since she was sharing her communications with LE . MOO

Yeah, I have some pretty strong personal feelings about @BoggLed in Ohio getting harassed. She's good people with good intentions. I made the post because some of the harassment has been through WS. I think the exchange will be useful to LE regardless as to whether Etter is BG or not. And, who knows? She may have been one of the only people he truly communicated with there at the end. Whatever human, non-crazy side he had may have responded to that convo in a positive way. He killed himself, but it could've gone down much worse, with many more victims.

RAJA, I think you are correct about GH not blacking out/obscuring the individuals name in the FB shot. Maybe he should have "posting filters or moderators" like we have at Websleuths who watch out for those sorts of mishaps?

Agree.
ME's know if a body has been moved.
Police have not sought a second crime scene.
TOD from police statements was soon after 2:30.
Videos time stamp, so the time of LG's video of BG is 2:30.
