According to a Reddit post there was a bit of debris in the lake but it was never stated which boat it came from. Honestly it might not be connected to the disappearances at all. I’m still of the opinion that something malevolent happened (like a rape) and all three women were killed because the one responsible didn’t want any witnesses around to report it and thus face legal trouble.

Is there another place where the boat could dock? Is has been suggested that the male driver could have had a partner waiting and a vehicle. If so, then they could have left and something terrible happened to them. All this is my opinion. It would be easier to get them out of the area, rather than being in the boat. Bodies would probably been found.

Unfortunately I’m not from the area so I don’t know the layout of the area. You do make a fair point about them leaving at some point and the lack of bodies appearing. Honestly this case has too many holes.
