Bill Wise, a deputy district attorney under Hunter in 1999, says the release of the documents won't make much difference in the 17-year-old case.

"It's all academic. The statute of limitations has passed," Wise told ABC News today. "We're still no closer to finding JonBenet's killer."

shut up already, there is no st.of lim. for murder and sex offense against children and this is what this case is about

Was wondering when we would hear from LW. Here we go: http://news.yahoo.com/judge-orders-release-jonbenet-grand-jury-docs-172509634.html
L. Lin Wood, said he's confident that no evidence in the grand jury case implicated the Ramsey family and the public should be able to see that for themselves.

"Anything less than the release of all of the proceedings is a gross injustice to the Ramsey family," he said.

I don't have words here. . . .Statements like this kind of short circuit my neuron synapses. Someone like SuperDave needs to help put this in the right framework!

Well, that's our Lin...Always looking for someone to sue. He wants everything, so he can get the lawsuits churning out.

The statute of limitations is passed for what they were indicted for, however. So, I don't think it's crazy for Wise to point out that -- no matter what the public outcry -- the charges in the indictment can't be filed now.

Well as usual, I'm late to the party. I just heard the news this morning.

I would imagine that the RST is working overtime last night and today in attempt to file some type of appeal, or anything else they can do to stop this.

After some of the past "incidents" that have happened to people connected to this case, I would watch my back if I was Stan Garnett.

I'm surprised the lawyers haven't filed an appeal already!

Is JR still with Natalee Holloways mother? Wonder how she'd feel once this all comes out

No he's not, he's remarried. His new wife is Jan Rousseaux, a fashion designer.

anyway, this is pretty telling to me and it somehow confirms what I've been feeling for a long time

[Larry King: If it was a pedophile, was your daughter sexually abused?

Patsy Ramsey: I don't believe there is conclusive evidence of that.

What mother talks like that about her child's possible molestation? "Conclusive Evidence" What an utterly bizarre family.

weird huh,so it was a pedo but hey he didn't quite assault her
ahem

"It appears that the District Attorney, presumably acting at the discretion of the grand jury, prepared a series of possible charges regarding John Ramsey and Patricia Ramsey based on the fact that the child had died and that there was evidence that a sexual assault of the child had occurred,"

and there was them on LKL playing dumb!

Larry King: If it was a pedophile, was your daughter sexually abused?

Patsy Ramsey: I don't believe there is conclusive evidence of that.

John Ramsey: We don't know.

KING: Have you talked to them about -- do they send you the autopsy reports?

John Ramsey: No, no.

Patsy Ramsey: No.

John Ramsey: We've -- the police have not talked to us at all. We don't know what's been done.

Larry King: Well, they have questioned you, right?

John Ramsey: They have questioned us extensively.

Larry King: But they haven't told you anything about -- you have not seen the death certificate?

John Ramsey: No.

Patsy Ramsey: No.

Larry King: You don't know how your daughter died?

Patsy Ramsey: Well, we do.

John Ramsey: We do.

Patsy Ramsey: From what we...

John Ramsey: She was strangled.

Larry King: That's the cause of death, strangulation?

John Ramsey: That's the cause of death.

Larry King: But you don't know if any sexual activity took place?

John Ramsey: It's not clear to me that there was. We don't know. It's one of those questions you don't want to know the answer to, frankly.
This is just too weird. They could sit there and talk about their daughter being strangled to death, but they couldn't admit that her being sexually abused was a possibility? LK didn't accuse them of molestation any more than he accused them of the strangling, but one they could talk about and the other they refused to acknowledge. If this was an intruder, like they claimed, whatever happened happened. It was what it was, but here they were denying what was more than likely, the obvious motive for any intruder. JR said, ' it's one of those questions you don't want to know the answer to'. Even if that answer led to the killer? Even if that answer got a child killer off the streets and out of people's houses? What kind of parent wouldn't want every question answered? I'm not kidding about JR...every time I read something he said, I'm flabbergasted.

A grieving parent saying they "don't want to know" is about on par with saying hello to the 911 operator.

A fairly strong sign of guilt or dysfunction or denial in my humble opinion.

Grieving parents usually have to know. They have to go through what their child went through, in their minds at least. Refusing knowledge is psychologically similar to saying "I don't want to talk about it" which is the exact opposite of what we expect them to say, indeed what they pretend to say, which is "please listen".

:(

History judges, and the way folks act after the event is something that is seen by everyone who is looking. In JB's case, all of America.

These two, in their narcissistic rush to engender sympathy and hog the limelight and play the role of "innocent parent", forgot that they were supposed to act in a certain way to be convincing to people with logic and common sense. They sued, they courted the media, they appeared on any tv show that would have them, all the while stalling, blocking and actively undermining the investigation.

Now, in the way of the McCann, expect them to say something along the lines of "we ask the media to respect (us) JB and keep the reporting to a minimum".

24 hours or less.................After waiting this long, hope we are not disappointed.

Like an eleventh hour appeal? Gawd, my blood pressure couldn't handle that...

If they file an appeal, would that halt the release? At least until the judge can make a decision?

This has been a case that has long haunted me and left me with questions that were never answered. I have always felt that the investigation was muddled from the beginning and felt John and Patsy Ramsey were treated with kid gloves. I know I'm not alone in thinking there was something just off about the parents of JonBenet that went beyond a curt and often abrupt John and an overly medicated Patsy. It will be interesting to see if indeed it does go the way madeleine suggests as a possibility with the dead being used as a scapegoat to take the blame for everything. Thanks to all who have provided links on the release of the indictment.

Justice :denied:

~If you put all the pieces pertaining to this case in a puzzle box, gave them a vigorous shake, when you snapped the last piece into place it would still be Casey Anthony.~

It'll make JR look even guiltier. Is what is within that indictment worth the question that'll be in people's heads - "What have you got to hide John?"

It seems the spin is to act indignant that the entire file will not be released - (knowing there is no possible way it will ever be released), it is there, according to Lin and John, that one will find the real story that does not add up to the charges. LOL Gotta love LinWood - he wrote the benchmark playbook for the high-profile ambulance chasers of today. You can trust that the news will play this down for exclusive interviews. What I'm most curious about is if Burke is mentioned in the indictment.

OMG, I never thought I would live to see this day !!

ACR

I know!!! 17 years ACR. It's too bad Patsy is not here to give us her sour-puss expression while dismissing us out of hand.
