OK I know this trial isn't over but I'm thinking an appeal on grounds of legal incompetenance is going to be a strong possibility. I have watched and re-watched most of this trial and Nurmi just harps on sex like he's questioning a prostitute. Martinez repeatedly makes very stong points like her having blonde hair when she started out on the trip, the no return of the 3rd gas can, the cell phone turned off in AZ, the gun burglary, the tag upside down and then the jury can get her to say things like "I don't remember feeling fear when I was stabbing him, uh, I mean, I was in a fog" but Nurmi continues to spend most of his time asking her about anal sex and oral sex and phone sex. What the hell is going on? HOw is it relevant when and if conversations turned sexual with Mr. Brewer in 2005? I'm really beginning to think Numi is a perv. I mean every single time he gets up its questions like "How did it feel when you were having anal?, Did you enjoy that he liked giving you oral for hours? Isn't is true that it takes you two hands to really get off during phone sex". The judge should stop this nonsense. I know she's a cold bolded killer but this is the United States, at least let her try and defend herself.

Couldn't agree more.

I think Nurmi realizes he has no shot and figures he'll just string this out for the cash so why not talk about stuff he's used to when he defends sexual predators.

one of the jurors asked her if she was paid for 48 hrs. and JA said no....and we all know that JA always tells the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

JA took DB with her when she met the 48 Hours producer Jonathan Leach over dinner. During his cross DB was aked if JA asked for money for the 48 Hours appearance. DB (as with many things he was asked) said, 'I don't recall'. 48 Hours could confirm or deny this quite easily.

Hey guys! I was looking through the end of the last thread and found this post of the pic of Travis looking straight at the camera and then the pic of only his torso right after. The screenshot of the two pics together does look like they could be part of the same pic. Great job getting them together! However, in the face pic, the shower door is closed because you can see the drops on it. In the torso pic, the door is open. I really think that torso pic is when she was coming at him. The face shot he saw what she had and was maybe told to sit; the next shot she was going toward him. Maybe that pic was accidental, too.

Yes, and unless Travis was some superpower, he would have had to use his arms to rise to a standing position. That would have been the perfect time for Jodi to place the knife in his heart! When he got to the sink, the spray pattern of the blood may have come from his chest as he probably had difficulty breathing and chest heaving would have caused the blood to spray out.

Apologies for not knowing and/or if this has been discussed at length before, but is premeditation the sole tipping point for the DP? If for some reason, the jury does not believe premeditation, what can or will they do?

Yes , just a ruse to get him at his most vulnerable and cornered. I don't think she left and came back either. She wasn't going to take a chance. He agreed because she was dressed and her stuff was in her car. If she did this she'd finally leave! The last pic looks like, "ok, are we done? Time for you to get on the damn road"

No way he didn't know she was there in his bathroom for over 11 minutes taking shower pics..

June, in Arizona, with black socks on, with running pants on, I don't think so. Seeing somebody dress like that outside my shower door at 5 o'clock in the afternoon would send me very over the edge.

I don't think he's incompetent (and don't forget he's got a DP qualified lawyer beside him). I do wonder if he's done many murder trials. At this point, he's just wandering the Jodi wasteland and doesn't know what else to do.

I thought JA made her CAR RENTAL RESERVATION thru priceline. Could it be her debit card was charged for the initial days of rental AND THEN charged again later by the rental agency for the EXTRA DAYS AND MILEAGE? Just a thought because Priceline DOES have hotels & car rentals also.

If anybody can help clarify these points, thank you!

There is no way that is a photo shoot. I finally saw the raw photos which are flat and muddy at best. She was shooting in low light, nothing someone who knows anything about photography would do without somehow compensating. And then there's a half-hearted flash by the looks of it.

She probably told him she wanted to do a photo shoot (if, in fact, he was aware of the camera). And then she carelessly pointed and snapped, because great pictures were not really her goal. Which again, IMO, speaks to premeditation.

I hate to admit I`m such a rotten sleuther, but I have given up on trying to figure out the meaning behind any of the photos that day. I still feel he never knew she was there until the first assault, but sex photos say otherwise. There again, I suspect she is very savvy in manipulating electronics, causing me to doubt the veracity of the bed pictures. :waitasec:

So - I have decided to give my brain a rest in that department and simply go with Mr. Martinez` theory, whatever that might be. :hero:

Once she's sentenced to death the first line of appeal will be incompetent counsel..that's a given. But it won't be successful. He's over defending her imo.

When Nurmi was trying his best to withdraw as counsel, did JA have any part in that request being denied? Did she appeal to higher ups to make him remain her counsel? I certainly hope so.

My thought when I watched that was that Jodi was mad that travis would choose to spend ANY time with his friends when she was around and obviously wanted to be bedded.

TA's friends seemed to hate JA(at least that's what they seem to be saying on all the talk shows that will have them on) so why would she want to be around them. They had a club and she wasn't in it so to speak. I think she may have tried to fit in with them at first, but wasn't able to.

and the fuel surcharge---rental car companies charge a super-high fee for bringing a car back empty. People used to get mad that we charged a HUGE price for gas when you bring your car to be worked on but we can't diagnose the problem with no fuel--and technicians are paid over $24/hr--we don't want them being fuel jockeys!

i don't think the timeline allows for her to run downstairs and back up with the knife. IMO, she had to have it right there.

I don't agree. I live in a house very similar to TA's. If I was in a hurry I could definitely make it downstairs to my kitchen and back again in no time. If he was struggling down the hall to get help she could have caught him in the hall. That is kind of what I believe happened.

From what I have seen all the wives or girlfriends of TA's male friends expressed a bad feeling or a radar about JA. He should have paid attention to these friends.

His male pal's did as well but the women were more quickly picked up on the evil vibes from JA.

None. She got gas in Pasadena and then her next fill up was outside of Las Vegas in Mesquite Nevada
