Interview with Maya D at Lowell...

I had to laugh where MD was claiming Casey spent too much time at her mirror. (A) What else would she have to do in a prison cell for 24 hours a day, nothing, but (B) even though we know Casey has compulsive grooming issues, MD looks like she spends more time at her mirror than KC!

Not to mention the part where MD was saying she backed off from KC because that wouldn't be someone she could have a friendship with. LOL Lucky for Casey, I guess, with MD's history!

?What? What else would she have to do besides look in the mirror? You are kidding, right?

MD is a lot prettier than Casey, but it's because of what's on the inside not just on the outside. MD may have done a terrible thing - it was horrible what she did, but at least she has owned up to it, told the truth, and has accepted her fate and is trying to be a better person. She's also in a program that helps other teens. She's trying to give to society. Maya appears to be remorseful for what she has done. KC will never tell the truth or have remorse for what happened to Caylee. KC is an ugly, ugly person inside and out. IMHO.

I watched and listened to the interviews yesterday and noticed a couple of other speech problems with respect to her pronunciation of certain words.

When she says "skeptical", she pronounces it "skeptable". She uses this word when talking about her credibility etc. She could have a similar problem with chloroform.

I found her to be completely forthright and mature. I think she makes a point when she says that her being in prison has caused her to look at people like child molesters and baby killers (her words) with disdain. She says "I don't hate them. I despise them." as if despise the worse thing is you can think about someone. I think she started to realize that things weren't right with KC and her stories and when she realized this, she needed to take action.

This woman is 5'10" by the way and weighs 165 pounds according to her pas. She's not a small woman. I would find her daunting in any capacity. Perhaps KC became afraid of her and that's why she backed off. KC is still "playing house" as far as I'm concerned; what with her primping and giggling and acting like she's starring in her own reality show. Maya D is the real deal and that scared the crap out of KC.

Wait until she gets up into Lowell herself... Holy S...! Hang on for the ride, KC.

She's saying KC told her these things not that KC wrote this down. So, the pronunciation thing I don't buy..how can you not pronounce something you HEARD? maybe you cannot pronounce something you've seen written, but not if you've HEARD the word spoken!

I understand what you are saying, but honestly I can not say the word phenomenon every time I have use the word. It's embarrassing to say the least. Who knows if she is telling the truth, but it seemed like it to me for the most part. Didn't she say she mentioned to LE that KC told her she gave drugs to the baby in a rag?

Oh I can totally relate to this. I can't say how many times in my youth I've acted tougher or better than I was..only to be confronted with the "real deal" and that'd be the one person I couldn't be a "hard butt" around.

Yes but like other folks said, chloroform's effects only last so long. I DO believe she was drugging Caylee regularly to get her to go to bed, either with something like Benadryl or Xanax, which was always my theory as to whom Zanny the Nanny is, since "zanny" is street slang for xanax..but I think the searches for chloroform were done to find a way to knock Caylee out for a brief period, giving her time to kill her. Why? Because KC is a coward and probably could not have killed her if she had to watch her reaction or hear her screams. And with that I think I'm going to try and go to bed, I'm in the hospital right now trying not to go into preterm labor at 29 weeks and it's making me sick to my stomach thinking about KC killing that sweet little girl.

Your last paragraph is interesting in that Casey backed off of MD. Casey thinks she's tough, until confronted with the likes of MD.

It further proves that people like Casey Anthony who kill toddlers are cowards at heart, which is one of the reasons they do what they do.

I've watched the interview twice on wftv and I can't find where this is being discussed. Can someone tell me what part of the interview they talk about this? The thought of KC being scared makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside :boing:

Shirley P. did say that the only way KC would talk is if you threw her in general population to get smacked around some (paraphrased of course)

Ryan P. said it'd take putting the fear of God into her.

Maya is already THREE years in to a THIRTY year sentence.

Quite the opposite. She is now viewed as a "snitch" because this was made public. This could make it very hard for her in prision.

my husband is hungarian. in hungarian there is no corresponding sound for "th" in english. the only time this is an actual problem is when I cant tell is he means something is "three" or "free" :biglaugh: as coming from him they sound identical.

so he uses F for th and his mom uses S for th and his younger sister has no accent at all, having learned english when she was much younger....his dad, I never have managed to peg down the sound he uses, I just never noticed else he gets the th, but the point is, you just dont know what words someone will have troubles with, even native speakers.

my big question mark over maya is whether she is lying or just not remembering cause I just cant see KC going to this one girl out of everyone she possibly could make up stories to and actually let out the word clhoroform. why not to everyone else then, cookie, annie d, et al.

I thought that too, and a lot of people here thought that Casey was being so careful with her words that she left out the word kill in her letters. I know she (Casey) is not book smart IMO but shes street savy and she has spent a lifetime of lying and covering her tracks I just cant picture a mistake as big as this. Anything she shared with anyone in jail thus far in letters and otherwise has to do with covering herself, not exposing herself. IMO

I also thought Maya was credible and that really she had nothing to gain from it ... perhaps at a parole hearing it would come into play but I think her working with troubled kids in the Scared Straight program which carry a lot more weight than her coming forward to tell about her talks with KC ...

As far as not being able to pronounce chloroform, I don't find it that far-fetched ... Kathi repeated the word a couple times and she still couldn't say it right and looked kind of embarrassed ...
I also thought about the believability of KC even telling her about it, I don't know but I wondered if KC was eluding to an accidental overdose as opposed to having Maya think she killed Caylee deliberately ... not telling Robyn about it would make sense, Robyn wasn't being convicted of murder ... maybe KC felt safe telling Maya because she felt no one would believe her anyway?
I dunno, guess I'm on the fence about that ...

Remember Jesse saying that KC adapts herself to her surroundings and specifically whoever she is with. Friends saying she was not a smoker or a heavy partier, drinking, etc. New friends saying she was read to party, doing pot, drinking because this is what the new friends did. Maya is serving time for killing another girl. If KC were looking for sympathy she would not tell a friend who loves her children, she would tell someone who carries the same shame she does. From KC's own letters to RA (See were just alike, two peas in a pod) Imagine telling RA she used chloroform on Caylee and then telling RA "we're like two peas in a pod." JMO

I still cant picture it she would have to have been taking responsibility for something she did wrong. I just dont see this in her behavior, she does'nt carry any shame. The one word through out this tragedy that is taboo is chloroform. I cant picture her fessing up to it. I too am on the fence about it. MOO
