He then ignored a GJ's year long work and then lied that they had ever done anything. He kind of deserves vilification for that, IMVHO.

No he did not. He took what they said and realized it was ridiculous. He went and asked for a murder charge and got anything but. Basically with no one to blame and no evidence to support it.

He did the right thing.

Do you have a source with proof he went asking for a murder charge?

Respectfully, we have no way of knowing what the man was thinking when he did anything.

That was the whole reason for the grand jury. To see if there was enough evidence to indict someone for her murder.

Robert Whitson, one of the first officers on the scene @ the Ramsey residence, investigated the assault of a 14 year old victim, which occurred just months after JonBenet's murder. The following excerpt, from INJUSTICE, provides a brief overview of the crime: (p.133)

"The victim was asleep in her bed and the victim's mother was asleep in an adjacent bedroom. The victim's father was out of town. At approximately 3:10 a.m., the offender placed his hand over the victim's mouth, called the victim by her formal first name, and stated, 'Don't scream. I know who you are. I'll hurt you. . .If I was here to hurt you, I would have knocked you out.'

The offender digitally penetrated the 14 year-old victim and attempted to perform oral sex on her.

...

The mother woke-up, called to her daughter, and when her daughter did not respond the mother went to her daughter's bedroom. The area was dark, with the exception of a nightlight. The offender ran past the mother and exited via a second story door, which led to a roof 13 feet above the ground with no stairs or easy way to climb up or down.

...

The first level doors were alarmed when the victim and her mother went to sleep, with no sign of forced entry. The second story screen door was shut with the main door open."

Since you asked, take this info as you will. It is not differentiated in Kolar’s book whose medical records are inferred, BR, JB, JR or PR.

From Kolar’s book: BM, attorney for JR - “I have a real problem with certain kinds of medical records. These people are entitled to an island of privacy to try to recover what they’ve been through.” “I think you will get virtually everything you’ve described with the possible exception of personal medical records that I think John and Patsy are at least entitled to make a reasonable decision on….” “I’ve already discussed these matters with Hoffstrom and he knows how we operate.” Kindle Locations 3268-3271).

Kolar - “I had discovered during my review of case files that, with the apparent consent of prosecutors, there were medical records that Ramsey attorneys withheld from the District Attorney’s Office in 1998, and I believed it conceivable that they spoke to the very issue of family involvement and a cover-up regarding the circumstances of JonBenét’s death. (Kindle Locations 4658-4660). . . “I believed that there was a reason defense attorneys had worked so hard behind the scenes to withhold family medical information, and proposed that this “island of privacy” was a viable lead that deserved the attention of investigators and prosecutors.” (Kindle Locations 5453-5454).

In PMPT book Schiller mentions that on Feb. 10 Detective JH obtained a signed release from PR and JR allowing her to speak to Dr. B’s nursing staff. On March 25 Detective JH was allowed to interview Dr. B and Dr. B summarized the child’s medical history. No records were turned over.
Thank you, questfortrue!

I found my book! :D

On page 223, of FF WRKJB Kolar lists documents from the investigative files which he set out to review in an effort to gain a "baseline acquaintance with the investigation": 2001 BPD case synopsis, the autopsy report & analyses, crime scene photos, interviews with witnesses & others, etc. Included among the list is "Analysis and review of previous medical treatment of JonBenet."

This indicates, to me, LE had JonBenet's medical records.

I don't know the page number, but know that Kolar wanted B's psychiatric records from before and after the murder.

After the murder, Burke was in therapy; Before the murder, Kolar doesn't seem to think so...

Tricia's True Crime Radio, 12.23.12 (1:01:25-ish)

Koldkase: "Are you saying Patsy and Burke were in therapy before the murder?"

Chief Kolar: "No, I think that was subsequent to the murder."

What, no ransom letter? No tDNA to compare with that found on JB? Means nothing.

I would hope he was in therapy after that. To me it shows again, Devoted parents caring about their children.

I don't think it really means anything that Burke was in therapy after the murder. I don't think that's unusual for the sibling of a murder victim, no matter what the circumstances are.

Thank you, Landonsmom02. The hair certainly could have come from a pair of Patsy's boots, but it could have come from any number of items. ...belonging to the Rs or not.

BUT, it then comes down to likelihood. Which is more likely: it's hers, which we know was there, or someone else's, who might have been there who-knows-how-long ago?

There is no proof that they were consistent. The only time we see that mentioned is in a deposition where the DA is baiting Patsy to answer something.. They NEVER offer proof of the claim.

How many sources do you NEED, Scarlett? PR herself said they were hers (which is a big problem in and of itself).

There are also many fibers not sourced at all.

With no proof they came from anyone that night. That's the difference.

That would not be the R's fault because they did not get warrants.. Get mad at who the blame belongs to.

Darn right: the DA.

Darn right: the DA.

I read the deposition. She did not say they were hers.

The thing is that if Patsy fibers were on her that is completely normal. If they were strange fibers that can not be sourced to the R's or anyone in that house, That is a problem and shows that it is more than just possible someone who was an UNKNOWN was there and hurt her.

Wanna BET?

Yes. I do. There is nothing documented that is proven to be anything that would lead to this crime. They were good parents. They took good care of their children. They were not cold blooded killers.

I have no problem believing parents out there hurt and kill their kids. It is sickening but I am not blind to it. I know it happens. I know it happens all too often.
There is nothing in this case, Or before this case that shows them to be abusive, or dangerous to their children. Nothing that is real and factual.

And what if there are?? Patsy's jacket lives in the house. Those fibers would be all over. That is no smoking gun.

Ah, but that's precisely the crucial point. It's NOT so much the fibers themselves, Scarlett. It's all the things SURROUNDING them.

No it is not. The fibers are there in the house, They could have been picked up any time. However the other fibers don't have a source. They could have been left there by the killer. That can not be discounted. Not if you are really looking at the facts.

That comment about AH is just personal opinion. There is no proof of that.

Oh, NO??! There's plenty of proof of it. If my thread on it hadn't been pulled...

People want to vilify him.

A LOT of people.

It makes no sense.

Oh, but it does.

If he thought there was enough he would have pushed it to trial.

Scarlett, for God's sake! The man HADN'T brought a single case to trial in ten years before this case! He had a history of NOT pushing for trials. He just plea-bargained every damn thing.

HE is the one who brought it to a GJ.

Because he had no CHOICE. If he didn't, the governor would have taken the case from his office.

He then ignored a GJ's year long work and then lied that they had ever done anything. He kind of deserves vilification for that, IMVHO.

He deserves vilification for more than THAT, Tawny. Trouble is, every time I try to demonstrate it, I get accused of "well-poisoning" or some other damn thing.
