The sister of missing Dublin man Dean McCann said she is counting on the public to help find him.

The family of the 28-year-old last heard from him on Sunday January 6th at approximately 9.30am when he was in Galway near Eyre Square.

“I’m counting on people to help us find him,” Tara McCann told sundayworld.com.

“If everyone but mainly in the West [and] Aran Islands included could keep an eye out.”

Dean was last known to be driving a grey BMW in the Galway area on Sunday.

He was visiting Connacht in a bid to help others.

“He wanted to be charitable and help people, he said.”

Taking to social media, she shared a plea for her missing brother.

“All we know about his whereabouts is that he was in Galway on Sunday morning and that he wanted to go where people need help.”

Dean McCann: Dublin man's sister appeals to public after he goes missing in Galway

THE sister of a missing man is appealing for the public to help find her brother who vanished three days ago, saying: "It feels like a nightmare that's just not ending."

Dean McCann, 28, was last seen in Galway on Sunday and was in Eyre Square at around 9.30am.

He left Dublin on Saturday, February 5 and his family have not heard from him since Sunday morning.

He was previously in Cork on Saturday evening and was driving a grey BMW.

Dean is described as being 5ft 11 in height with dark hair, pale skin and light blue eyes. He also has braces with a beard.

He has tattoos on both arms, one arm with a wolf, a moon and mountains and the other arm has a wing.

My brother vanished in Galway 3 days ago - we're so heartbroken & worried

OH OH---If he is actively 'looking for people who need help'----that could end badly for him. I hope he is found soon.

Dean McCann, 28, who had been spotted in Cork on Saturday evening driving a grey BMW, was then seen at Bank of Ireland ATM in Eyre Square in the early hours of Sunday morning.

His mum, Grainne, revealed Dean's final words to her before he went missing as well as saying that they believe that Dean is no longer using his car and is travelling on foot.

She said: "The last time I saw him was last Sunday morning. He said he would keep in touch but he didn't. He said he was in Galway, that was his last location I knew of. So I went to Galway on Sunday looking for him. I was there for three days.

"I told the gardai that it was out of character for him to take off like he did and to not hear from him. His last sighting is in Galway. The public have been amazing, they've been calling in any sightings of him but they've all come to a dead end."

He wanted to help people who need help.

But what type of help and what type of people? Homeless? Alcoholics? Drug addicts? Families in Poverty? Sick children?

And why did he need to go to Galway to do that? Aren't there people in Dublin he could have helped?

I second these questions. It's all very vague and imo, sketchy.
