When I first read the story on Pavlock, I saw the date of the initial story and he was caught back in April ... so I thought...well that was before Kyron went missing so Pavlock couldn't have been out to do harm. But then I read further and noticed he cut a deal with the prosecuter and they didn't arrest him.
So he's been out and about (Free)! :furious::furious::furious:

searching on the net. I'm not saying that I think this guy has anything to do with Kyron's dissappearance, but, is it just me , or does anyone else see some things in his life that might seem similar to Kyron's case?

1) He's a teacher ( or was a teacher)....Step-mom Terri...a teacher

2) He's an avid marathon runner. Didn't DeeDee and Terri meet initially at running events.

3) He lives only 10 miles from Skyline Elementary....only a 24 minute drive.

To answer the question of the topic of this thread, no, I personally do not believe trafficking if involved with Kyron's case, but would not be surprised if LE happened on more nests of this and other disgusting crimes than even they expected while investigating.

I know I am in the minority but I believe this is a one-person crime, whoever that person may be, and that poor Kyron was doomed that very day.

I googled him, and the article I found says he's an architect but an adjunct instructor at Marylhurst University.

IIRC, DeDe and Terri met at the gym, but DeDe did train for and run at least one marathon.

The article I found (above link) said he surrendered to police. He was arraigned on 23 counts.

SALEM -- A Washington County architect pleaded not guilty to online child accusations in federal court Thursday.

Paul Pavlock was arraigned on 23 counts of encouraging child sexual abuse. He voluntarily surrendered to police in Hillsboro Thursday morning.

If he's out free now, he must have posted bail.

The KOIN report was a bit misleading. He was convicted of encouraging child sex abuse and he's not free.

Pavlock, a balding man who wore a gray suit to court, pleaded guilty to 10 counts of encouraging child sex abuse, one for each of 10 downloads of child .

Howes asked Kohl to allow her client to remain out of custody so that he could enter treatment at the Keystone Center in Philadelphia, a residential facility that treats sex addicts and child collectors.

Campbell argued that the Philadelphia clinic allows patients to come and go freely and that Kohl should jail him as he awaits sentencing.

Kohl concurred, ordering Pavlock to jail.

The registered pedo previously on my street who molested two sisters (8 and 10 y/o''s) only received 5 years probation and lifetime SO registration after he PLED to his charged offenses. Sentence handed down this July 2010. He hired a lawyer from Geofrey Feiger's law firm for 4500 dollars. This man also exploited his noncustodial bipolar 20 something daughter by posting naked pics of her (that he took with his own camera) and offered her services on craigs list detroit dot com. Not only is he not in custody, in 5 years he's free to roam as long as he registers in your state. He's still selling stuff on craigs list detroit as I type.

How disgusting !!! The prosecutor cutting a deal with a perv like that. If he was in a ring with 85 other pervs located all over the world that tells me he's been at this perversion for a long time.

Maybe this is a good example of why Portland has such a problem with this problem. I think it all relates together, and human trafficking but I don't know and would like some feedback on that.

I'd also love to know who this prosecutor was. Pavlok's home is not in Multnomah County but in Washington County, so at least it is not the same Prosecutor working on Kyron's case:

ETA: That charge of enticing a child in sexual activity is a very common one. A man in our office was arrested for the same charge and just got 7 yrs. We all fainted as he'd worked for the co. for 10 years :innocent: We never had an inkling. It involves watching children while they engage in sexual activity. I don't know if it means in person or on line but it is a serious crime.

Gawd, I wish every perv would just come with a blazing neon sign that says "keep me away from your children". Seriously, it worries me about how many of these individuals are 'found' to be working in schools, churches, daycares, what have you related to children.

I think what is most heartbreaking, for me, is that we don't know; can't even guess about some of these individuals (my adjectives for them would not be appropriate for WS) UNTIL they are 'caught'. Which means that children have to be victimized before we know their true nature.
