Is the molester also the killer?

And Camper, sadly, I don't think we ever will.

I agree, that it seems like she didn't have much modesty...and YES that is weird. I used to work at a daycare, and there were a couple of kids, that I would have to wipe...because they couldn't, and they would ask me too, and they didn't seem the least bit embarrassed. I think lack of modesty is weird, BUT...maybe its normal for some kids, who knows. Maybe it just depends on the kid and their personality. Both of my kids are extremely, EXTREMELY modest....and they get that from ME...LOL

We could start a BALD CLUB....because this case makes me pull MY hair out too.

Some children will do that, especially a spoiled child such as JonBenet. I know that is a contradictory statement - she was abused, e.g. the pageants and the douching, most definitely, and yet she was spoiled with other things - so I could see her asking that. She wants to be the center of attention and that would do it at that moment.

I like the Bald Club idea, lol. Poor little JonBenet. She was only here for six years, and there's an entire subculture devoted to her and finding justice for her. I'm just so glad I found the JBR boards and met other people who are as interested (read: obsessed) as I am. My friends and family all roll their eyes when I bring up JonBenet.

I can completely understand how JB could have been abused and completely spoiled at the same time. I know many who consider spoilage a form of abuse.

I was thinking about one time LHP said that JonBenet scolded her for going to open the door when someone came over, saying, "You don't get the door, I'll get it." Maybe this was JonBenet needing to assert independence, and being able to do it through the kindly housekeeper. I suspect Patsy more or less ran JB's life, and dominated her and even dictated what JonBenet's likes would be to a certain extent, like with the pageants.

Maybe JonBenet was feeling like she didn't get a chance to assert herself, and needed to as a growing child who was developing her own ego, and realized she could enact some authority over her parents' hired help. Maybe that comment wasn't spoiled so much as it was something JB needed to feel like she had some control.

I don't know, though, just spitballing. The thing that I would like to know most about this case is, who was JonBenet herself? I know what everyone says about her, but who was she really?

Me too, and frankly I do not know why, because whenever I bring it up, which is not too often as far as I am concerned, it is usually with something very interesting that has been posted here.

I can completely understand how JB could have been abused and completely spoiled at the same time. I know many who consider spoilage a form of abuse. Actually, I was going to say the same thing about it being a form of abuse.

It would be nice to see some home videos of her and then you could get some idea of her personality.

Patsy is just bizarre and John is even more bizarre if he expects us to believe what he said on LKL that Patsy never got angry. The woman didn't speak to another mother at the school for a year because the woman critized something Patsy did.

Patsy was a force to contend with, or that was her reputation

But she never got angry and the reason John says this is because Patsy got very very angry Christmas night and killed JonBenet. She also got angry with her most days as she was heard yelling at her in the bathroom.

I was looking at JonBenet's bed in the crime scene photos. It does not look like it was slept in. The clothes are all over the bed. Did anyone ever address that - anyone know?

Yes that was addressed. The sheets do not look as if they were slept on. No creases...the pillow at the foot of the bed....

What killer would move her pillow? The blanket that JonBenet was found wrapped in did not come from her bed. The comforter does not look as if a blanket was removed from it.

And there are clothese all over the bed, well not all over, but enough.

And she referred to a neighbor as "the blonde B*tch" down the street, because she thought that she had her sights on John.....even though Patsy blamed "the blonde b*tch" statement on someone else. Was it Prisclla? I can't remember. But, regardless....you KNOW that Patsy is the one that said it.

You are right, it didn't...it came from the dryer....with the pink Barbie nightgown balled up inside of it. And who else but Patsy or John would have known that it was in there???

Good point, Ames - and on top of that, WHY would an jealous, vengeful intruder bent on making JR suffer through brutalizing, sexually assaulting, and strangling his youngest child even care if the child he just attacked and killed was wrapped in a blanket or not? And why would he seek out the very same blanket that had been her favorite?

A poster on another board suggested JonBenet got up out of bed in the middle of the night, pulling the blanket off the bed (where it would have been tucked in under her comforter) and wrapping it around her to go downstairs, to keep her warm. There she encountered the intruder after grabbing a bite of pineapple. But that theory doesn't match up with the picture of her bed, and Patsy said JonBenet wouldn't do that.

And in that theory, the intruder would have kept JB alive for an hour or two before he killed her, in order for the pineapple to digest as much as it did. And I still don't see why he would wrap her in the blanket after molesting and killing her, if his goal was to lash out at JR through JB.

Yeah, and not to mention wiping her down, and re-dressing her in a clean pair of undies. Why the heck would an intruder DO THAT? And HOW would and intruder KNOW that blanket was her favorite?? He must have been not only VERY SMART, but so, courteous. He hated John so much that he killed his daughter, wiped her down, changed her undies, wrapped her in her favorite blanket, and placed one of her nightgowns beside of her. HOW SWEET.....

For the record, I believe you're talking about the time Susan Stine went to the door, on the 23rd, and talked to BPD through the door, not letting them interrupt the party. Can't find the post I have an email notification about, dumb me, didn't memorize the number, so I'm replying to this one instead.
(Oh yeah, it was Camper's. I wanted to say Good Point, about everyone looking different due to time passing, not necessarily PR's death.)

I don't think JB herself ever had a chance to find that out..her life was orchestrated by PR from the time she was little.I think she was starting to rebel against that and exert herself..thus her being bossy to the housekeeper and telling her *she would answer the door.
Kids won't rebel against you unless you give them something to rebel against. And I think PR was setting the stage for that right from the beginning. As well as Nedra ,who was obsessed w pageants.
She was setting up a defense, and JB would have been clearly going on the offense, esp once she got to be a teenager.

I wonder if JB could have soiled her bed...the night that she was killed. Maybe she didn't just urinate on it, but also had a bowel movement (sorry for being so graphic)...and thats what pushed Patsy over the edge.
A soiling accident is definitely a possibility imo.

Steve Thomas talks about entering the Paugh home and finding one room devoted to Patsy and Pam Paughs pageant days. This was something that occured almost twenty years earlier! Nedra being obsessed with pageants is an understatement.

JonBenet....I wished she were born a boy. Her life was not her own but her mothers, her aunt Pam's and dear old grandma. She never had a chance to be JonBenet.

Look at some pics of Patsy in her costumes and you see JonBenet's pics with costumes similar to Patsy's. JonBenet was Patsy Paugh Jr. She would fall asleep watching Mom's and Aunt Pam's pageant videos. She would also watch Shirley Temple videos. Her life was chronicled through pictures galore, sayings I doubt she authored on her own...all for the big day...Miss America.

Patsy was one of the worse mothers/stage mothers I've ever heard of. She literally took the spirit and life out of this precious little baby.
