Is the molester also the killer?

Steve Thomas talks about entering the Paugh home and finding one room devoted to Patsy and Pam Paughs pageant days. This was something that occured almost twenty years earlier! Nedra being obsessed with pageants is an understatement.

JonBenet....I wished she were born a boy. Her life was not her own but her mothers, her aunt Pam's and dear old grandma. She never had a chance to be JonBenet.

Look at some pics of Patsy in her costumes and you see JonBenet's pics with costumes similar to Patsy's. JonBenet was Patsy Paugh Jr. She would fall asleep watching Mom's and Aunt Pam's pageant videos. She would also watch Shirley Temple videos. Her life was chronicled through pictures galore, sayings I doubt she authored on her own...all for the big day...Miss America.

Patsy was one of the worse mothers/stage mothers I've ever heard of. She literally took the spirit and life out of this precious little baby.

I agree. I watched some of a show about pageants the other night...it was not "Living Dolls", but another one. That followed four 6 year olds through their pageants. I was appalled to see the mother's paying 2 thousand dollars for FAKE TEETH, for their daughters that were missing some, and 6 year olds having a SPRAY TAN, before slipping into their BIKINIS!!! I turned the channel after seeing one little girl doing a routine with a SCARF, and pulling it back and forth between her legs....with her mom screaming..."YOU'RE NOT DOING IT RIGHT, go back and do it again". She told the guy making the documentary, that she and the little girl would be up until 11:00 perfecting her routine.....and getting up at 6 am, to get ready for the pageant that day. FAKE TANS, FALSE TEETH? They were taught that being the way that they were, was NOT good enough. A friend of mine was in over 200 pageants...and won every single one of them....she was a beautiful girl. Her mom pushed her and pushed her to be in them. When she finally got married, and got out of the pageant life, I was visiting her one day at her new home. I said, "Where are your 200 trophies? I don't see them anywhere"? She said to me ..."they are still over at my mother's house, because they belong to HER anyway". Well, she could never be good enough, and she ended up on drugs....her husband left her, so she hooks up with a drug dealer who kills her when he shoots her IN THE FACE when she threatened to leave him. 9 times out of 10, thats where these little girls end up....because, they feel that they are not perfect, and can never measure up.

I think so too,and what's so weird to me is I think she really was living through JB,since she could have, but didn't,have Burke do a lot of the same things, minus the pageants of course. He still could have had singing, dance, gymnastics, photo shoots/modeling,music lessons, etc.,but it was only JB who was put through that.I think she couldn't identify with BR,(and thank goodness for that!) At least he got to be a child.

What a tragedy! There should be a law in place....no pageants until a child is at least 13.

Shirley Temple once said that a producer invited her into his office. He sat her on his lap and attempted to molest her. She never forgot that.

Shirley Temple's mom knew she had talent and beauty on her hands. The horrific movies all had a running theme...man and little girl. Shirley wore the shortest dresses...bowed down to show her bloomers...sang and danced for the men...ALWAYS MEN!

I had read that about Shirley Temple...or maybe saw a show about it...but, I did know that it happened to her. Disgusting!! The child actress from "Charlotte's Web"....Dakota Fanning....her mom allowed her at 11 to be in a movie with a RAPE SCENE (with Dakota being the one that is raped)....saying that this would be the movie that won her daughter an OSCAR. Brooke Shield mom was another stage mom, that would let her do anything for money...remember the Calvin Kline commercials...at 15? I think this is another way of pimping out their daughters. On that one pageant show that I talked about in my previous post, one of the mom's told the interviewer that she was willing to do ANYTHING for her child to win. I just don't see what is SOOOO important about winning a beauty pageant. I mean....so what...your child won a beauty pageant....WHO CARES!!!! Does that make you more of a special MOM? Does it improve your image of YOURSELF? Were you such a geek in school, that you are out to prove that your child is NOT a geek, and that she can win pageants? I believe that pageant mom's have very low self esteem....and they live out their dreams through their daughter.

Justin Timberlake...the pop singer...used to be in male beauty pageants...so Burke COULD HAVE been put in pageants too, they are more popular with girls...but, they do have them for boys, too.

aren't Brooke and her mom estranged now?I think it was said her mom was too controlling?

Okay, I had forgotten that when reminding someone it was Susan Stine who asserted herself to answer the door at the Rs' home. Sorry bout that.

Solace, I always assumed you were a guy. You worked at a day care?

Yeah, just getting attention was probably why innocent little JonBenet asked to be wiped. She may have felt somewhat deprived of mother-care since PR had been sick so much, and the douching and all, might have taught her there shouldn't be any modesty about her bottom in general.

It really is child abuse and there should be some kind of legislation brought to monitor it. But it is hard to monitor what is going on in the home and probably an expensive proposition. But I just do not understand why this is allowed with children of such an age. The mothers are all one step above "white trash" or below. It is one bizarre scene. I realize that there are children who do "advertisements" and are models, but there is a monitor on that, such as how many hours they can work, etc. It is not perfect, but it helps. There is no such monitoring on these idiot parents who literally are abusing their children in public.

Toltec, could you or others give me the source for this? For a poster on another forum does not believe Shirley Temple ever said this. TIA

Solace, I believe that she is thinking about me...because I USED to work in a daycare. I believe that Eagle is getting us mixed up, because we share the same exact theory.

Eagle, Solace never worked at a daycare, you are thinking about me. I used to work in one, and I am a female. The owner of the daycare is a 28 year old single male....he has two of them.

She did, I also read it, or saw it on a documentary about her. I can't remember....it was a long time ago.

My daughter is one of those that model. She has never been in a pageant, and she never will be. The agency that she is in, bans makeup for kids her age. She is five....so, when she goes on a professional photo shoot, she has to be free of makeup. I have NEVER put makeup on her for any reason, though...and she cannot wear it until she turns 13. She is a JonBenet clone, and gets told that everywhere she goes. When I used to post on courttv, I put her picture up as my Avatar, and the other posters thought that it was JB. I finally took it off of there, because I didn't want some sicko pervert like Karr, to see it, and get any ideas.

I am still searching for a link to verify Shirley Temple being molested while sitting on a producer or directors lap. I found this when I was searching..

http://www.nndb.com/people/089/000023020/

"Her family was protective, and her father, a banker, handled her finances, but even then, Hollywood was a ribald and raucous town. When she was seven, her insurance stipulated that it would not pay if she were injured or killed while intoxicated. When she was 11, Hollywood producer (The Wizard of Oz) and lyricist ("Singin' in the Rain") Arthur Freed exposed himself to Temple. In her autobiography, Child Star, Temple wrote, "Having thought of him as a producer rather than exhibitor, I sat bolt upright". She says she laughed at him and walked away, which infuriated him."

I did let my daughter wear a little makeup when she was doing dance, esp with her jazz costume. It just brightened her up and made the whole outfit look better. It was blue and silver sequined, which is what all the girls wore. But in NO way did she ever look like a 20 yo,like JB did.
And when she got tired of dance lessons,I let her quit.I wouldn't have pushed her to do it if she didn't want to anymore. It was just for fun and exercise. If she'd wanted to pursue it further,I wouldn't have stopped her as long as it didn't interfere w school.I know some of the girls there did go on further with it,looking to make a career out of it.

I had to look the word ribald up in the dictionary. Now I know how to use it.
