In the city, on relatively high ground near the river. This area didn't flood when the levees failed, so we were able to help my family members who did lose their homes.
Just heard the first big whoosh outside.
My husband and I had planned to leave around 4 am, but we made a decision tonight to hunker down and stay put. My son and a couple of other family members will join us in the morning, and we'll stick it out together. I'm sure we'll lose power at some point, but otherwise, I'm not too worried.
Hey y'all.
I'm just north of Baton Rouge.
I'm outside drinking a cup of coffee and it's a little windy. Not much yet.
Calm before the storm.
I'm thinking of everyone and praying for yalls safety.
Bessie, my thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone in your great city. 7 years to the day,can you believe that???
I wasn't too worried until I read this:
"Approach of Isaac doesn't worry the Corps of Engineers"
Now I'm scared. :giggle:
If they did it right this time, we should be okay.

Shows how huge this storm is
We have tons of fog/clouds in my part of Ohio. Wonder if it's from this storm
It's nowhere near OH at this time.
I didn't really mean the storm itself....just if that's where all the heavy clouds are coming from.
I still remember Ike. Was not pleasant at all. Even us that live way in the north still watch this stuff b/c the weather is coming straight up this way. Ike was terrible for us.
Ike eventually went through OH and caused some wind damage, but it was days after it went through Galveston. Isaac hasn't even made it on land yet.
