Children’s hospitals have not been spared from the violence, including Al Nasser Hospital, heavily damaged by the hostilities, and Al Rantisi Hospital, which has had to cease its operations.

The hospital’s last generator ran out of fuel Saturday, leading to the deaths of three premature babies and four other patients, according to the Health Ministry. It said another 36 babies are at risk of dying.

Israel’s military asserted it placed 300 liters (79 gallons) of fuel near Shifa overnight for an emergency generator powering incubators for premature babies and coordinated the delivery with hospital officials. But the military said Hamas prevented the hospital from receiving the fuel.

A Health Ministry spokesperson, Ashraf al-Qidra, disputed the account and also told Al Jazeera the fuel would not be enough to operate the generator an hour. “This is a mockery towards the patients and children,” Al-Qidra said.

Speaking to CNN, Netanyahu asserted that “100 or so” people had been evacuated from Shifa and that Israel had created safe corridors.

But Health Ministry Undersecretary Munir al-Boursh said Israeli snipers have deployed around Shifa, firing at any movement.

“There are wounded in the house, and we can’t reach them,” he told Al Jazeera. “We can’t stick our heads out of the window.”

The military said troops would assist in moving babies on Sunday. But Medical Aid for Palestinians, a U.K.-based charity that has supported Shifa’s neonatal intensive care unit, said transferring critically ill infants is complex. “With ambulances unable to reach the hospital ... and no hospital with capacity to receive them, there is no indication of how this can be done safely,” CEO Melanie Ward said.

The only option is for Israel to stop its assault and allow fuel into the hospital, Ward said.

So it's safer to let them die?

They can be transported, IDF allows ambulances on the road

When is someone in the medical community going to stand up and challenge this

The destruction affecting hospitals in Gaza is becoming unbearable and needs to stop. The lives of thousands of civilians, patients and medical staff are at risk

I suppose the reason for the massive propaganda campaign about lack of fuel for hospital staff could mean that Hamas is running low on fuel for their vehicles, rockets and tunnels.
Bingo !
That makes perfect sense.

The UNRWA, the UN Agency for Palestine Refugees, is currently sheltering 618,000 people in southern Gaza in just 97 facilities. Three of these opened recently in Rafah, the UN said in a UNOCHA update on Sunday evening, adding, “Following these openings, the average number of IDPs per shelter slightly declined.”

1.5 million people in Gaza are internally displaced, the UN said.

I have noticed that there hasn’t been such a massive campaign for the other hospitals, who are also out of fuel. I wonder why.

WS has always been justifiably proud of a basic tenet: attack the post, not the poster.

Looking ahead, for the future --- if there's a possibility there could be some type of peaceful end to this --- I think no money at all should go to Gaza unless it can be held accountable.
Like every penny is supporting terrorism.

Maybe only items ?
Although even products like irrigation pipes can be used for making (albeit faulty as we've seen plenty of examples !) rockets.
Re-posting this link :
How the group manufactures the makeshift rockets is less known. In previous battles with Israel, Hamas was known to have fired rockets made of old water pipes, the researcher noted.
“We have local factories for everything, for rockets with ranges of 250 km, for 160 km, 80km, and 10 km. We have factories for mortars and their shells. … We have factories for Kalashnikovs (rifles) and their bullets. We’re manufacturing the bullets with permission from the Russians. We’re building it in Gaza,” Ali Baraka, head of Hamas National Relations Abroad, told the outlet.

But former US officials say there is little question the massive stockpile of weapons used in Saturday’s attack was acquired and assembled with help from Iran.

Red emphasis mine.

Hope the IDF is rooting out every factory and bombing it to smithereens.

Hamas is a genocidal terrorist organization. They said it themselves:

OK, realistically now...
You are the CEO of a huge hospital. Or, the Chief Medical Officer. You know that Hamas has committed acts of terror on Israel, and now Israel has declared war on Hamas.
Your immediate area surrounding your hospital and your constituents is safe...but nearby is heavy fire. From above as well as on the ground. Your hospital cannot safely obtain fuel, nor supplies. Relief is not guaranteed. The citizens nearby are frightened. What to do??? What to do??

DUDE !!! You get the hell outta there!! You abandon ship! You safely call in the experts and assistance to safely and effectively remove patients and staff....and you get the hell outta Dodge!! It may take a few days, or a week....but it is possible. (See other successful evacuations.)

Either these CEO's had a gun pointed to their head, or were highly paid to sit still and do nothing. The whole thing infuriates me.

MOO and Peace

You tell me, otto. I'd like to know as well!!!
This article is written by W.H.O. Chief Tedros. On October 16 he released this statement, published in the New York Times, that babies would die within days due to lack of fuel for the hospitals. A month later we know that the W.H.O. Chief did not have good information. The hospitals did not run out of fuel on October 17, 20, 25, 31, Nov 3, 7, or 11. Now we should believe again that the W.H.O. Chief has good information about fuel shortage at the hospital in Gaza? It's impossible to believe the information from the World Health Organization. Their information has been wrong for a month.

"Al Shifa Hospital has always been under tremendous strain. When I visited in 2018, I met with patients and health workers and toured a dialysis unit and a neonatal intensive care ward, full of newborns in incubators. Their tentative grasp on life was sustained by diesel generators that powered the hospital when the electricity went off, as it did for several hours every day. Staff members, patients and their families faced difficult choices to make daily.
...

With no electricity and fuel running out in Gaza, within days hospital generators will fall silent, and the incubators, dialysis machines and other lifesaving medical equipment will shut down. Many of the most critically ill patients, including babies, whose lives have only just begun, will probably die. Attempting to move them is equally hazardous. Water scarcity is a grave concern for struggling patients, especially newborns.
...

But in this conflict, health facilities and health care have been struck repeatedly. ... I deplore the attacks on health facilities in both Gaza and Israel, which have led to the deaths and injuries of health workers on both sides.

In case someone is catching up. A statement released by EU.

We call on Hamas to immediately & unconditional release all hostages.
We condemn the use of hospitals and civilians as human shields by Hamas Civilians must be allowed to leave the combat zone.
Hostilities are severely impacting hospitals & taking a horrific toll on civilians.

They are trapped, IDF within feet. They know IDF will not fire into the hospital and are using lack of fuel, need to safely evaluate as a ceasefire reason. Moo

“Shifa is besieged; no one can get out, and no one can enter,” Abu Sada said.

“It is dangerous for us, even the medical staff, to look out the window. We are so afraid of the shooting.” Amid fears of sniper fire, hospital staff have moved all 600 remaining patients away from the windows and into corridors deeper inside the complex.

Yet another article just before this said the below quote.

"The Health Ministry said there are 1,500 patients at Shifa, along with 1,500 medical personnel and between 15,000 and 20,000 people seeking shelter."

So one person says 600 patients at Shifa and another says 1500?

I don't doubt there are issues, this is war and there is going to be confusion and misinformation. What I take issue with is listening to anyone affiliated with HAMAS and these hospitals are run by HAMAS. They are in charge of the health ministry. So weather they have a headquarters there, tunnels there or close by, if they are in the hospital or just telling people not to leave, they have a big influence on this hospital and what information is coming out of it.

They have been asking for this hospital to be evacuated for WEEKS.. yet nothing. If they aren't evacuating it and even worse are using it as a place refugees are to come, then they are putting them harms way. Israel has made it's objective clear for 4 weeks now. They are using those people to deter Israel from bombing that hospital.

Hamas is sounding desperate for fuel these last 2-3 days. When they run out of fuel, their tunnels become unsafe. Their electronics fail, oxygen levels drop, water stops, lights go out. Some tunnel exits have been blocked by IDF. Desperate Hamas will become more threatening against civilians and low level terrorists. This is what the IDF needs in order to rescue the hostages.

Exactly!

When hospital spokespersons say can't, I think we can replace that with won't. They refuse to evacuate or entertain any plan for evacuation. They have given excuses for why they refuse, but those reasons have solutions and they only want to hear one solution and that is they get fuel brought to them (aka delivered to the hands of HAMAS) and the hospital is left alone.
