I think you are right about expendibility as viewed by the big dogs in Qatar.
But.... the local little dog leaders in Gaza might not be inclined to stick around for formal affirmation of their escape intent from Qatar. Rather, my bet is that when they see that the "ship is lost", they are going to start escaping on their own.
The escape might not be that organized in regards to seniority. It could get "first come, first serve" fast. Rank and file members who know how the northern tunnels connect might also move on their own. Likewise, some of the escapees could have their own "personal hostage"(s) in tow as form of life insurance.
As
@Vern mentioned, Hamas has connections to Egypts largely defunct Muslim Brotherhood (supplied a key leader for 9/11). Some Hamas escappes may find shelter with the Brotherhood.
But.... I think that Netanyahu's stunts on the Temple Mount ("Al Aqsa Storm") might have struck a chord with ordinary Egyptians.
There might be quite a bit of Egyptians willing to shelter Gaza escapees, or just not ask questions about certain guests with non Egyptian accents. This willingness to shelter could go up even further if Iranian cash is offered.
