That seems to indicate there is massive clearing going on at the hospital. I wonder how they determine that there is no-one or someone down there. A drone can't open doors.

imo

I hope no hostages are killed by accident during this operation.

IDF details strikes on Gaza rocket cells, command centers in past day

The Israel Defense Forces says that within an hour of a rocket barrage from Gaza on central Israel on Friday, it struck and killed the cell behind the attack.

It says reservist troops of the Jerusalem Brigade’s reconnaissance battalion spotted the cell on the roof of a building, and called in an airstrike.

The army says that over the past day, it carried out strikes against dozens of targets and Hamas operatives in the Gaza Strip.

The sites included command centers, rocket launch sites and weapons production labs, it says.

IDF announces humanitarian pauses in northern Gaza for evacuations

The IDF’s Arabic-language Spokesman, Lt. Col. Avichay Adraee, says on X that the Salah a-Din road will be open for southbound movement until 4 p.m.

He urges residents of the Gaza City neighborhoods of Tel el-Hawa, Sabra, west Zeitoun, Shejaiya and Tuffah to take advantage of the corridor to reach the “humanitarian zone” in southern Gaza’s al-Mawasi area.

“We urge you to evacuate urgently because it is dangerous for you to remain there,” he says.

Additionally, Adraee says the IDF will make “tactical pauses in military activities” in the al-Shabura camp near Rafah in southern Gaza, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., for “humanitarian purposes.”

Members of Kibbutz Nir Oz come to grips with massacre

“We feel so humiliated and violated. They entered my sacred place, my house. They took our feeling of faith that normal people of Gaza won’t come,” Natalie Yohanan said.

….
“We sit and cry. It is really hard to go to sleep,” said kibbutz member Irit Lahav, who survived the attack locked into her safe room together with her daughter and dog for 11 hours, using an oar and a vacuum cleaner to fashion a makeshift wedge to prevent the terrorists from opening the door which can’t be locked. “We sit here till 2-2:30 in the morning and talk about what we are going through; it is very emotional.”

With a population of only 427 people – including foreign workers and a caretaker – Nir Oz was among the hardest hit of the kibbutzim, with one quarter of its people either murdered or taken hostage. Forty were murdered, including 11 Thai workers, and 79 kidnapped, including a Filipino caretaker and a Tanzanian agricultural worker. Half –16 – of the 31 children being held hostage in Gaza are from Nir Oz. The names of the Thai workers are included in their memorial to those killed and missing.
….

But after some 100 terrorists with heavy weapons entered the kibbutz, killing and kidnapping members, including her neighbors and best friends, Liat and Aviv Atzili, her illusions have been shattered, she said.

After the terrorists attacked, civilians came – some as young as 15 or 16, and looted her house, taking cellphones and credit cards, and even tried to make purchases with them inside Gaza only a few hours later.

“I used to think there were a few extremist people supporting Hamas, and all the others were good people who want to live peacefully.” Now, she said, she is not so sure.

Elon Musk says calls for genocide like ‘from the river to the sea’ to result in suspension

Elon Musk says X users who deploy the terms “decolonization”, “from the river to the sea” and other “similar euphemisms” that “necessarily imply genocide” will be suspended from the platform.

“Clear calls for extreme violence are against our terms of service and will result in suspension,” Musk tweets.

“Anyone calling for a genocide of any people will be suspended,” Musk replies to a user who asks, “So many influential accounts here support Hamas’ massacre. Will you suspend them?”
Elon Musk is back-tracking after his own comments embraced antisemitic conspiracy theories.

"Advertisers are fleeing social media platform X over concerns about their ads showing up next to pro-Nazi content and hate speech on the site in general, with billionaire owner Elon Musk inflaming tensions with his own posts endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

IBM announced this week that it stopped advertising on X after a report said its ads were appearing alongside material praising Nazis — a fresh setback as the platform formerly known as Twitter tries to win back big brands and their ad dollars, X's main source of revenue.
...

Walt Disney Co. said on Friday it has paused advertising on X, while Axios reported that Apple has done the same. The European Union's executive branch said separately on Friday that it's pausing its advertising on X and other social media platforms, in part because of a surge in hate speech.
...

On Wednesday, Musk agreed with an X post that falsely claimed Jewish people were stoking hatred against white people. That conspiracy theory holds that Jewish people and leftists are engineering the ethnic and cultural replacement of white populations with non-white immigrants that will lead to a "white genocide." The White House on Friday accused Musk of repeating a "hideous" antisemitic lie on X, calling it an "abhorrent promotion of antisemitic and racist hate" that "runs against our core values as Americans."

It sounds as if the Al-Shifa hospital has been mostly evacuated - except the 450 patients who can't be moved. (Presumably medical staff are still with those patients?)

There are conflicting stories.

An AFP reporter witnessed the evacuation, and said that Israeli troops told everyone over loud speaker that they had an hour to evacuate, on Saturday morning. The director of the hospital said that IDF called him to tell him to ensure the evacuation. (AFP is an EU Global News Agency)

The IDF said they didn't order the evacuation. That the director called them to ask them to ensure safe passage for those who wanted to leave.

IDF denies it ordered evacuation of Al-Shifa hospital

F. Brinley Bruton
The Israeli military today denied reports it tried to force patients and medical staff at Al-Shifa hospital in northern Gaza to evacuate, and instead has “acceded to the request” of it director to help Palestinians who wanted to leave the complex.

"At no point, did the IDF order the evacuation of patients or medical teams and in fact proposed that any request for medical evacuation will be facilitated by the IDF," a statement added today. "Medical personnel will remain in the hospital to support patients who are unable to evacuate."

According to earlier unverified reports circulating on social media, Israeli forces had given people in Al-Shifa one hour to leave the hospital.

Hostage families march to Jerusalem

The families of Israeli hostages held in Gaza are continuing their march from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem to try to put pressure on the Israeli government to secure their release.

Thousands of people have joined the march, which will end in a protest outside the residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later today.

Yuval Haran joined the march. He told Reuters news agency that seven of his family members had been kidnapped and taken to Gaza: his mother, sister, her husband and their children aged eight and three and a cousin aged 12.

"How can you put a price on a three-year-old girl? We need them back now at any price," he said.

"We are marching here today to Jerusalem, hundreds of families and thousands of people, come join us to Jerusalem, hear our shout, bring them back home now. The whole world shout with us - bring them back home now."

Negotiations have been taking place over the possible release of some hostages in return for conditions that could include a temporary ceasefire in Gaza and the release of some Palestinian prisoners held by Israel - but no deal has yet been agreed.

Civilians should move west of Khan Younis, says government adviser

Palestinians look at the damage to a building after an Israeli strike in Khan Yunis on 18 November 2023

Three days after Israel dropped leaflets to warn people to leave Khan Younis, another warning to evacuate the city has been issued.

Khan Younis is the largest city in southern Gaza - where hundreds of thousands of people fled to after being told to evacuate the north.

As the humanitarian crisis is worsening in the packed city, Israel’s warnings suggested military operations there were imminent.

Mark Regev, an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, told US media while Israeli troops would have to go into the city to destroy Hamas tunnels and bunkers, people in Khan Younis could move west, “Where hopefully there will be tents and a field hospital”.

“I’m pretty sure that they won’t have to move again” if they moved west, he said.

Israel issues new warning for civilians to leave Khan Younis

Jamie Whitehead
Live reporter

Good morning and welcome back to our live coverage of the Israel-Hamas War.
Israel has issued a new warning to Gazans in Khan Younis in the south of the territory to leave.

Last night, Mark Regev, an advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told MSNBC that Israel was asking people to relocate but added: “I know it’s not easy for them. but we don’t want to see civilians caught up in the crossfire.”

Hundreds of thousands of Gazans fled the north to southern areas including Khan Younis after being ordered to leave by Israel for their own safety. But the south has continued to come under Israeli bombardment too.

Israel reiterates warning to leave Khan Younis

Israel issued a fresh warning to Palestinians in the southern city of Khan Younis to move out of the line of fire and closer to humanitarian aid, in the latest indication that it plans to attack Hamas in south Gaza after subduing the north, Reuters reports.

“We’re asking people to relocate. I know it’s not easy for many of them, but we don’t want to see civilians caught up in the crossfire,” Mark Regev, an aide to the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, told MSNBC on Friday.

Such a move could compel hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who fled south from the Israeli assault on Gaza City to relocate again, along with residents of Khan Younis, a city of more than 400,000, worsening a dire humanitarian crisis.

Israel dropped leaflets over Khan Younis telling people to evacuate to shelters, suggesting military operations there were imminent.

Regev said Israeli troops would have to advance into the city to oust Hamasfighters from underground tunnels and bunkers but that no such “enormous infrastructure” exists in less built-up areas to the west.

“I’m pretty sure that they won’t have to move again” if they moved west, he said, referring to people in the area.

We’re asking them to move to an area where hopefully there will be tents and a field hospital.
Because the western areas are closer to the Rafah border crossing with Egypt, humanitarian aid could be brought in “as quickly as possible”, Regev said.

On 10/6 there was a ceasefire. On 10/7 Hamas broke it by entering civilian homes. Torturing, raping, butchering and slaughtering innocent civilians. Men. Women. Children. Babies. Elderly. Ill. They raped women in front of their families. They murdered parents in front of their children. They, then, took 242 innocent civilians into Gaza and is holding them hostage.
A lot changed. The UN, IMO, cannot be trusted after its’ colossal failure in Gaza.

The most well-documented massacre in history

If there was a previous “ceasefire”, it was in name only, IMO. There have been well documented, repeated conflicts in the area— I found at least 13 since 2008.

This includes Operation Breaking Dawn as recent as 2022.

“He said that 11 civilians were killed in Israeli airstrikes, and at least 15 were killed by Islamic Jihad rockets.”

(Quote from IDF spokesperson)

I consider Hillary Clinton a very good source. I’ll take her word for it.

***WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT***

On October 7, Hamas committed barbaric acts of rape and sexual violence against Israeli women and girls.

Anyone demanding Israel lay down its arms and stop fighting to destroy the monsters who did this should hang their heads in shame. You disgust us.

1700313990895.png

It wasn't "just" rape Hamas committed. It was gang-rape. It was raping 13-year-olds. It was sexual mutilation. It was shooting women in the back during rape. It was a ghastly crime against humanity.

And it generates no sliver of outrage from those who roared over MeToo. Watch:

Turkey will make efforts to rebuild damaged infrastructure, hospitals, and schools in Gaza if a ceasefire is achieved there, Turkish media on Saturday reported President Tayyip Erdogan as saying.
