Israel has notified families of the hostages expected to be released tomorrow

[...]

Hirsch said "liaison officers have informed all of those families whose loved ones appear on the list, as well as all of the hostages' families."

The first hostages expected to be released will include members of the same families leaving together, Qatar foreign ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said in a news conference earlier Thursday.

“They will be 13 in number, all women and children, and those hostages who are from the same family will be put together in the same batch,” he said.

A reminder: The Hostages and Missing Families Forum, a group that sprang up in response to the Hamas attack on Israel, lists 201 Israelis believed to be alive and held hostage in Gaza since October 7.

That list of Israeli hostages includes 39 children aged 18 and under; 44 adult women and 89 adult men aged 19 to 64; and 29 people aged 65 and over. The youngest is Kfir Bibas, who is 10 months old; the oldest are Yafa Adar, Shlomo Mansour and Arye Zalmanovich, who are all 85.

The Israel Defense Forces says the estimated total number of hostages — which includes Americans and other foreign nationals — fluctuates with the latest intelligence, but stood at 236 earlier this week.

I know they said some Palestinian “civilians” (cough) may have kidnapped some of the hostages for ransom, and yes it’s possible, we know civilians “took things,”, tvs, etc.

Do we have actual known PROOF of civilians taking any hostages? Anything from IDF or Israeli government saying this? I know crime families were mentioned by the HAMAS leader, Palestinian Jihad and “Palestinian Faction,” iirc.

I don’t know, if I were to guess, I’d say the “missing” hostages are missing at the hands of HAMAS, but again anything is possible and who knows.

I posted it a while ago. It was an interview with Rami Igra, former head of the Mossad. He gave the approximate breakdown between Hamas, PIJ and random civilians. IIRC approx numbers Hamas 150, PIJ 30, rest held by civilians. I’ll try to find the link.(ETA corrected numbers)

Hamas only holds some 150 Israeli hostages and the Islamic Jihad around 30. The rest are held by Palestinians who had crossed the border on Oct 7 and returned home 'with a pet Israeli' in tow, Rami Igra, former Mossad chief of hostage rescue, tells@laura_i24

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to troops of the Navy's Shayetet 13 commando unit: "This will be a short respite, after which the fighting will continue with intensity, and pressure will be made to bring back more hostages. At least two more months of fighting is expected."

Edit: I posted this because I thought Pollard was an influencer. But according to @Momoffourboys, he is not an influencer. I'm glad to hear that. Will leave it up because he was a spy, but sounds like he's considered fringe in Israel. I just remember when he moved there at the end of 2020.

Note: Pollard was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. He worked for Naval Intelligence Command (CNIC) and passed US classified info to Israel. He was arrested by the United States in 1987. He has since renounced his US citizenship. He's considered an "influencer" in Israel.

Ex-spy Pollard: Israel should have imprisoned some hostage families ‘to silence them’

Pollard, served decades in US prison for espionage before being released during former US president Barack Obama’s tenure and later being allowed to move to Israel by then-president Donald Trump.

He advocates for Israel to go on with the war without any deal, even at the cost of killing many Israeli hostages.

U.S. Forces at Al-Asad Airbase in Western Iraq have been Attacked by Drones and Mortars within the last hour in Coordination with what appears to have also been a Ground Assault on the Fence around the Base, in which Iranian-Backed Forces attempted to Storm the Base using Rocket-Propelled Grenades and Small-Arms; the Al-Dhafrin Militia has claimed Responsibility for the Attack.

On October 7th, hundreds of Israeli women and girls were raped, murdered and kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.

On Saturday, the world will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

@UN_Women and other international women’s rights groups have been SILENT. By being silent, the UN and others are endorsing the horrific atrocities committed against Israeli women.

WTH is going on?!!
I guess she could be released on one of the other upcoming hostage-release days, just not in the first group of 13 or so (not sure of that number) tomorrow? I hope so.

Her father had already come to terms with the news of her death, then was told she was actually believed to be alive and a hostage in Gaza. Her poor family. What a roller coaster of emotions and dashed hopes. Hopefully they will be reunited soon.

Israel said yesterday they were NOT going to notify them so they don’t get their hopes up.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces says Nahal troops have battled Hamas operatives on the outskirts of Jabaliya.

In the area, it says troops found six tunnel shafts, including one in a mosque. In an orchard next to the mosque and civilian sites, including homes, a number of rocket launchers and weapons were found, according to the IDF.
