Note: Pollard was born and raised in Galveston, Texas. He worked for Naval Intelligence Command (CNIC) and passed US classified info to Israel. He was arrested by the United States in 1987. He has since renounced his US citizenship. He's considered an "influencer" in Israel.

Ex-spy Pollard: Israel should have imprisoned some hostage families ‘to silence them’

Pollard, served decades in US prison for espionage before being released during former US president Barack Obama’s tenure and later being allowed to move to Israel by then-president Donald Trump.

He advocates for Israel to go on with the war without any deal, even at the cost of killing many Israeli hostages.

An influencer? IDK who thinks he is an influencer. No one I know. You will find many many different opinions among Israelis and Jews worldwide as to how this should be handled. Like any other event in the world. People have an opinion. His opinion means nothing and is irrelevant in terms of IDF or government actions. He is not an official, never was. IMO

This from your link, translated by google:
המרגל הבכיין שבגד במדינה שלו יוצא נגד משפחות החטופים? מי ראה את זה בא.
The whiny spy who betrayed his country goes against the families of the abductees? Who saw this coming.

Israeli gov’t spokesman’s reply to UK host’s question about hostage deal goes viral

[...]

“I was talking to a hostage negotiator this morning,” asks host Kay Burley. “He made the comparison between the 50 hostages that Hamas has promised to release, as opposed to the 150 prisoners that are Palestinians that Israel has released. And he made the comparison between the numbers and the fact that ‘Does Israel not think that Palestinian lives are not valued as highly as Israeli lives?’”

At the end of the question, government spokesperson Eylon Levy raises his eyebrows in shock and remains silent for a moment.

“That is an astonishing accusation. If we could release one prisoner for every one hostage, we would obviously do that,” he replies. “We’re operating in horrific circumstances. We’re not choosing to release these prisoners who have blood on their hands. We are talking about people who have been convicted of stabbing and shooting attacks.”

“Notice the question of proportionality doesn’t interest Palestinian supporters when they’re able to get more of their prisoners out. But really, it is outrageous to suggest that the fact that we are willing to release prisoners who are convicted of terrorism offenses, more of them than we are getting our own innocent children back, somehow suggests that we don’t care about Palestinian lives? Really, that’s a disgusting accusation.”

Levy’s eyebrow raise has since become an online meme.

I posted it a while ago. It was an interview with Rami Igra, former head of the Mossad. He gave the approximate breakdown between Hamas, PIJ and random civilians. IIRC approx numbers Hamas 150, PIJ 30, rest held by civilians. I’ll try to find the link.(ETA corrected numbers)

Hamas only holds some 150 Israeli hostages and the Islamic Jihad around 30. The rest are held by Palestinians who had crossed the border on Oct 7 and returned home 'with a pet Israeli' in tow, Rami Igra, former Mossad chief of hostage rescue, tells@laura_i24

Oh no! I figured civilians would have just handed them off....:(

Red Cross and Red Crescent say they will participate in transfer of hostages to Israel via Egypt

The Red Cross and Red Crescent have announced they will participate in the transfer of the hostages held in Gaza back to Israel. According to their announcement, the hostages will cross into Egypt via the Rafah border crossing in southern Gaza, and will then be moved to Israel with the assistance of the Red Cross.
We'll see.... They sure wouldn't help those poor innocent babies being held hostage and as human shields. Moo

“What is required of you in this respite is to organize, get ready, investigate, resupply arms, and get ready to continue,” he tells the forces.

“There will be a continuation, because we need to complete the victory and create the impetus for the next groups of hostages, who will only come back as a result of pressure,” he says.

Even after the period of intense fighting ends, he says, “there will be many operations in which Shayetet 13 will have something to do, until there is no military threat from the Gaza Strip, and we will have freedom of action to do what we want at any given moment.”

I wonder if RC is going to assist with the return of prisoners released by Israel?

Are they going to be giving them a ride back to Gaza and the West Bank?

Hum...

On October 7th, hundreds of Israeli women and girls were raped, murdered and kidnapped by Hamas terrorists.

On Saturday, the world will mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

@UN_Women and other international women’s rights groups have been SILENT. By being silent, the UN and others are endorsing the horrific atrocities committed against Israeli women.

#BelieveIsraeliWomen #NoExcuse
Having been previously tasked, trained and secondary dutied with the responsibilities of UN GENAD qualified (a UN requirement for NATO militaries by the UN) as part of my duties within the entity at Para 17, subpara H, in the below link, I am absolutely disgusted with their silence.

What for UNSCR 1325 an @UN Women if not for this?

Their silence is deafening IMO.

Hostage families hopeful but trying not to be overly optimistic

[...]

“We push ourselves not to get too excited, because we know that the Hamas is playing with our minds, psychological games,” Eyal Mor, 61, told NBC News today, before the announcement that 13 women and children held hostage in Gaza are due to be released tomorrow.

Four members of Mor's family were kidnapped from their home in Kibutz Nir Oz on Oct. 7, but “until they are here we don’t let ourselves be happy,” he said.

[...]

The last time Tagit Tzin, 49, saw her two young nieces, 15-year old Dafna and 8-year old Ella Elyakim, was in a hostage photograph, sitting on a floral-patterned mattress in an otherwise nondescript room. She said it looked as if Dafna had been crying.

“I just want to see them to see them standing by them own legs and breathing by them own and then I will be relaxed,” she said.

The Al-Dhafrin Militia has announced that at least one of the their Fighters were Killed during the “Coordinated Attack” earlier on Al-Asad Airbase in Western Iraq which consisted of Drones, Mortars, and a Ground Assault.

Bringing forward some recent ref/background on Al-Asad Airbase in Iraq:

October 31, 2023

“….the latest in a series of attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria, as tensions soar over the Israel-Hamas war.

U.S. and coalition troops have been attacked at least 23 times by rockets and drones in Iraq and Syria from October 17 to 30, according to the U.S. Defense Department website citing a senior U.S. defense official.

There has been an increase in attacks on U.S. forces since the conflict in Israel broke out on Oct. 7 and Iraqi armed groups aligned with Iran threatened to target U.S. interests with missiles and drones if Washington intervened to support Israel against Hamas in Gaza.”

[….]

“A group called the "Islamic resistance in Iraq" has endorsed Tuesday's attack.

On Monday, four Katyusha rockets were fired at Iraq's Ain al-Asad air base, an attack also claimed by the same group.

Iran-backed militia groups in Iraq have consistently demanded the expulsion of American troops after a U.S. air strike in Baghdad killed senior Iranian general Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in 2020. The militia groups since then resorted to rocket attacks on U.S. forces in the country and the embassy in Baghdad.”

Israel taps expert on Iran as new ambassador to France, almost a year after envoy quit

The Foreign Ministry’s deputy director for strategic affairs, Joshua Zarka, is appointed as Israel’s new ambassador to France.

The post has been vacant for almost a year following the resignation of the previous ambassador, former Yesh Atid minister Yael German, over her opposition to Benjamin Netanyahu’s hard-right government.

Zarka, who is a professional appointment rather than a political one, has previously taken part in negotiations between Western powers and Iran, and is an expert on Iran affairs.

The appointment must be approved by the government.
