Japan’s government said it was “directly approaching” Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis after they hijacked a Japanese-operated cargo ship in the Red Sea.
The hijack on Sunday saw dozens of crew on board taken hostage on the Galaxy Leader, a Bahamian flagged vessel.
The car carrier, Galaxy Leader, was taken to a Yemeni port and according to The Telegraph, the proxy group believed it was owned by an Israeli businessman, but on Monday, Japanese officials confirmed the vessel was operated by Tokyo-based firm Nippon Yusen.
Japan’s foreign minister, Yoko Kamikawa, said Japan “strongly condemns” the ship’s hijacking as it worked on its release. “We are also urging Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iran and other countries concerned to strongly urge the Houthis for the early release of the vessel and crew members,” he said.

I tracked three and at times four US aircraft off the upper coast of Lebanon.
They were very busy back and forth.
Could these be the planes that defended and protected our troops, during the bombing of the US base last night?
Also, US State Dept busy in and out of Bagdad, hopping around. Would land for about an hour and half, then up again.
Was so enthralled in the activity I fail to screen print the Lebanon situation.

It is the first time the United States has announced a strike on Iranian proxy forces in Iraq since targeting Tehran-linked sites in Syria on three occasions in recent weeks, in response to a spike in attacks on American personnel.
“We can confirm an attack last night by Iran-backed militias using a close-range ballistic missile against US and coalition forces at Al-Asad Airbase, which resulted in eight injuries and some minor damage to infrastructure,” Pentagon spokesman Brigadier General Pat Ryder said in a statement.
The Ain al-Asad Air Base is located in the desert of Iraq’s Western Anbar province and hosts forces of the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State (IS) group in Iraq.
“Immediately following the attack, a US military AC-130 aircraft in the area conducted a self-defense strike against an Iranian-backed militia vehicle and a number of Iranian-backed militia personnel involved in this attack. This self-defence strike resulted in several enemy KIA (killed in action),” Ryder said.

And we can't forget Iran, landed in an unidentified location north of Beirut, about the time they were bombing our US base.
Yeah...I am feeling a bit uneasy right now with all this additional extra activity flying around. I have convinced myself that some and their proxies are stepping up the war beat, while the hostage exchange/ cease fire deal is still in the works. I am on high alert. Here on my 'perch'.

I don't think they do. They giving Hezbollah authorization to continue its rocket launches, greenlights the Houtis to launch missiles and now capture ships. They continue to attack US assets in syria and iraq. They sit back and watch the region burn.
