I’m not talking about the weapons. Those personal items were of hostages taken from Be’eri. The shoes, backpack. The backpack says “60 years to Be’eri”.
Does this mean that talks to free hostages is "pandering to terrorists"?
Why on earth have military intelligence doing research on threats if the elected leader is going to ignore it? This makes no sense.

IMO, yes. I believe that discussing anything with known terrorists gets you nowhere. They don't play fair. They do not play by the same 'rules' of Negotiation 101. Terrorists do not value human life. See Oct 7, 2023.

if the state cannot try to free the hostages because it is seen as "pandering to terrorists",
then,
the same state has the duty to prevent terrorist attacks.
The state is for people.
Not people for the state.
The same concerns politicians.

Since I don't live in Israel, I will not pass judgement. In many parts of the world hostage taking and negotiations are an issue. Fortunately, it isn't an issue in the US. This is because of the Lindbergh Law of 1932.

Personally, I am against negotiating anything with known Terrorists. It's like dancing with the devil. Or playing poker with the devil. You will loose, IMO. 'It is known '.
