This is sad !
And there's no way to ascertain if anyone in Hamas is hiding amongst them ?
Although Egypt isn't letting people in, but they could provide some humanitarian aid by crossing into Gaza themselves, correct ?
Omo.

Eta : I don't think Israel is bombing that specific area where the refugees are fleeing to, though.
Egypt doesn't want refugees, that's why only dual citizens are being allowed to cross. (Dual citizens are in-and-out and go the their respective countries)
Sounds like the border is completely closed however and they won't be supplying aid until they partially open it.

IDF publishes footage of airstrikes on Hezbollah sites in Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces publishes footage showing a drone strike against an anti-tank guided missile squad in southern Lebanon and artillery and tank shelling against Hezbollah sites in the area.

The strikes against the Hezbollah sites came as a response to mortar fire on IDF sites in northern Israel earlier today.

Some 30 mortars were fired from Lebanon at the Mount Dov area, in an attack later claimed by Hezbollah.

Shouldn't this be like a police action, instead of a ground war? Wouldn't it make more sense to find and capture the criminal element while leaving the city itself intact as much as possible. It would make things easier when the residents are allowed to return.

Not everything needs to be treated like a military attack. JMO
But there is weapons and rockets there, booby traps, IEDs etc, rockets being fired into Israel, armed terrorists, that need to be dealt with.

Unfortunately for innocent Palestinians, that's not a policing job; it's what militaries are trained to deal with although I am quite certain the IDF will and over any terrorists it captures to LE authorities for trial.

We have proof that Hamas is putting up roadblocks to prevent Palestinian civilians from evacuating from northern to southern Gaza.

Hamas prides itself on putting civilians in harm’s way and is responsible for every civilian casualty.

And also Hamas has hostages.

This is why I question if Israel bombed a convoy of civilians.
The IDF specified a route for the Palestinian residents to take and imo it's not a stretch for Hamas to decide to rain rockets on them so as to blame Israel ?

Hamas' armed wing said on Saturday that nine captives including four foreigners, were killed
due to Israeli air strikes in Gaza over the past 24 hours.

Emphasis mine.

Is Hamas now walking back their original statement regarding the hostages ?
Any death of a hostage is now because of Israel ?
There is (as of now) no way to confirm that the deaths of hostages are because of Israeli air strikes.
It's possible Hamas ended their lives.
Omo.

Eta : Rest in peace.

Israel Gaza live news: Children among dead after strike hits Palestinian convoy - BBC News

Who are the hostages Hamas took from Israel?

View attachment 453343

While the death tolls in Gaza and Israel grow, up to 150 hostages are being held captive by Hamas while their families live in hope and fear.

The Palestinian militant group says it has hidden them in "safe places and tunnels" within Gaza but has threatened to kill them if civilian homes are bombed by Israel without warning.

Among them are Maya Regev, 21, and her brother Itay, 18, from Herzliya.

They had attended the Supernova music festival in southern Israel. On the morning of the attack, Maya's father got a call from his daughter who screamed "Dad they're shooting at me!".

The family said they later spotted Itay in handcuffs in the back of a vehicle in a video released by Hamas.

Doron Asher, mother of two girls, Raz and Aviv, was taken captive while staying with relatives near the Gaza boundary. Husband Yoni saw a video of his wife and daughters, aged five and three, being loaded onto a truck with other hostages.

Here are the stories of people confirmed by the BBC, or credibly reported, to have been taken hostage by Hamas from Israel. They include 13 children and at least eight over-60s

Thanks for this, excellent reference/details on the hostages.

I think there is a difference between advocating stopping the bombing of civilians and supporting HAMAS.
I hope so!
Also, why allow this huge march?

Pro-Palestinian march draws thousands in London with protests across UK

Thousands of pro-Palestinian protesters have taken to the streets across the UK, including in London and Manchester.

In London more than 1,000 police officers were deployed as crowds marched from the BBC's New Broadcasting House to Downing Street.

The Met Police said seven people had been arrested, including one for criminal damage and two for public order offences.

[…]

In London at the Palestine Solidarity Campaign demonstration, Palestine flags and supportive placards were waved as people chanted during the march to Downing Street.

The Met Police said as of 17:30 BST on Saturday its "significant policing operation" was "still active".

It said the march had ended and the "majority of the crowd have dispersed".

Police had earlier warned that anyone showing support for Hamas, a proscribed terrorist organisation, or deviating from the route, would face arrest.

[…]

Police appeared to detain several men in Trafalgar Square. One person allegedly threw an object at a police van at the pro-Palestinian demonstrations, near to Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square.

He was chased by officers and caught whilst jumping into a fountain in the square, which sparked a confrontation between protesters and Met officers - with a semi-circle formed around the man.

The Metropolitan Police earlier said certain areas of central London were covered by a Section 60AA power, which requires a person to remove items such as masks that might be used to conceal their identity, until 22:00 BST. Four arrests were made under these powers.

Earlier conditions put in place under the Public Order Act to deal with the march were lifted on Saturday evening, while special conditions banning people gathering in an area of Kensington High Street - near to the Israeli embassy - remain in place.
The force said it was aware of people lighting flares or fireworks and said: "Action will be taken when we identify those in possession of/throwing them."

I saw the video of this earlier, the amount of people was incredible. I’ll see if I can find the video and will post as ETA.

Eta: Can’t find the one I’m looking for atm, but here are some others:

Other marches have also been planned across the country including in Cork city.

The demonstration marched through Dublin city centre with banners and made its way to the Israeli Embassy in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4.

Yes, if you want police officers to be slaughtered. Walk into booby-trapped buildings and ask if there are any terrorists about?
The operative word here is WAR.

I am more than skeptical of reports that the 70 people killed were victims of an Israeli airstrike.

In regard to the 9 hostages, I posted this earlier:

Nine hostages killed, Hamas says

The military arm of Hamas, the Al-Qassam Brigades, said in a post on Telegram that it killed nine hostages, including four foreigners, in retaliation for the continued bombing of Gaza.

NBC News could not independently verify the claim.

I still believe we should try to preserve cities, homes, infrastructure, etc. Condemn and punish the criminals, not the country nor the citizens. Treating these situations as a war against a nation of people only breeds hostility, divisiveness and aggression. I still prefer it the old fashioned way with peace talks and helping countries rebuild. It's amazing to see how Europe, including Germany, was allowed to recover so productively after WWII. Same with Japan. Our grandparents and gr-grandparents saw things differently and they were right. JMO

I wish  fervently it were that simple. But when the enemy deliberately hides behind innocent lives (hence the term "human shield"), it's not feasible...:(

Hamas leader says people of Gaza ‘are committed to their homeland’

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said Saturday that the people of Gaza “are committed to their homeland.”

Haniyeh said the Israeli military has “resorted to massacres, genocide, and burning land attempts to displace our people and families in Gaza”

“The Gaza people are rooted in their land. They are committed to their homeland,” he said, speaking on the Lebanese station Al Manar TV.

“No migration from Gaza, no migration from the West Bank. No migration from Gaza to Egypt,” he said.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear. I meant treating it as a police action with the necessary tools, but with the intent of capturing/neutralizing the bad guys instead of killing innocent civilians.
