I meant to the south within Gaza, where it was suggested for their own safety, not necessarily other countries.Egypt has closed the borders to Gazans (nobody besides the US wants refugees anymore).
Furthermore, armed Palestinian groups have pulled enough stunts in neighboring countries over the generations to cause local welcome mats to get rolled up- even before these countries got tired of refugees.
Sure, Gazan civilians showing up at the Egyptian crossing with enough cash or with an Egyptian wife, or both, will find the welcome mat unrolled and be allowed in.
But... the vast majority of Gazans in the worlds biggest human corral have no where to flee to.
Hamas most likely wants them for human shields to pretend they aren't the aggressors, but instead -- the victims.
I wish the Palestinians could rise up and revolt against Hamas.
