The only crimes against humanity that have taken place in this war are the terrorists attack on citizens of the State of Israel and the crime of a government/authority (Hamas) using their own people (Palestinians) as human shields.
I have yet to hear a single Palestinian condemn the brutal massacre of civilians in Israel or even mention any atrocities committed there. Nor have I heard even one call Hamas a terrorist group; they are seen as resistance fighters. Can anyone find a reference to prove me wrong? In the end Israel will be blamed for everything in my opinion.

It should also be noted that the UN doesn't recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization. I read this today in one of the many news reports, will see if I can find a link. If that's true, maybe they should take another vote given the terrorist attacks on Israel over the past week.

IDF says head of Hamas’s aerial forces killed in overnight Gaza strike

The Israel Defense Forces says it has killed a senior member of the Hamas terror group in an overnight airstrike in the Gaza Strip.

The strike, targeting a headquarters from which the terror group managed its aerial activity, kills Murad Abu Murad, the head of Hamas’s aerial array, according to the IDF.

The IDF says Abu Murad “took a big part in directing terrorists during the massacre” last weekend, which included attackers who entered Israel from the air on hang gliders.

In separate “widespread” strikes overnight, the IDF says it hit dozens of sites belonging to Hamas’s commando forces, who led the infiltration into Israel on October 7.

Hamas using civilians as "human shields" by trying to stop evacuations, IDF says

Hamas is trying to stop Palestinian civilians from evacuating northern parts of Gaza, turning them into "human shields," Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus said Saturday.

The IDF on Friday instructed civilians in and around Gaza City – more than one million people – to move to southern areas of Gaza.

Conricus said it was “worrying” that Hamas "has stopped" and "tried to stop Palestinian civilians from evacuating" northern Gaza using messages, checkpoints and stops on the ground, according to international media reports.

Asked on CNN whether the evacuation suggested Israel was clearing the way for a ground incursion — and how long the IDF would wait for that — Conricus replied that the IDF would "assess the situation on the ground."

“(We need to) see how many civilians are left in the area. And understand how many of them have been blocked by Hamas from actually evacuating," he said.

"And we've seen active efforts by Hamas to block these people from leaving, which I think is appalling at a whole new level. And once we see that the situation will be permissible for significant combat operations, then they will commence."

He said civilians should leave the area for their own security “and return only when we tell them that it is safe to do so.”

The IDF had seen “significant movement of Palestinian civilians toward the south,” Conricus added, saying Gaza residents were “doing the clever thing, moving out of a dangerous area."

Israel begins 'localised raids' in Gaza - as IDF allows 'safe movement' on two roads south before new deadline

Israel has offered time-limited safe passage to more than a million Palestinians ordered to leave northern Gaza as the military carried out "localised raids" ahead of an expected ground assault.

The mass exodus came despite warnings from the United Nations and aid groups such a forced evacuation would have devastating humanitarian consequences, with hospital patients and others unable to move.

Israel has now extended a deadline for people to leave, allowing the safe movement of Gazans on two main roads south between 10am and 4pm local time (8am and 2pm UK time). (BBM)

As families in cars, lorries and donkey carts packed with their possessions headed south from Gaza City, Israeli airstrikes continued in the besieged territory.

Hamas said 70 people, mostly women and children, had been killed in an attack on a fleeing convoy.

Sky News has seen footage that appears to show the truck both before and in the aftermath of the strike.

It was not immediately clear who the target of the airstrikes was, or whether militants were among the passengers.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said its troops conducted raids into Gaza to battle insurgents and hunt for more than 120 civilians kidnapped in last weekend's shock assault by militants on southern Israel.

It is the first time Israel has stated ground troops have been operating inside the strip.

well obviously- as is hostage taking.
Nobody could have any different reaction when you see any of the footage or images of the atrocities committed by terrorists ( clip of Hamas terrorists with Israeli babies) :

However that wasn't the issue I was raising

But when one of our most prominent campaigners against anti-semitism Dame Margaret Hodge is raising the issue, or the D Gen of the International Red Cross doing the same or Joseph Borrell, or this morning Conservative MPs like Crispin Blunt ( a former Foreign Affairs Select Committee) are on SKY TV raising Geneva convention on collective punishment it's not something I'm going to deny as fake news.

what I had also wondered was whether not recognising a state had a bearing. Apparently it doesn't according to the ICC Prosecutor, interviewed here https://x.com/IntlCrimCourt/status/1712865430811947460?s=20

Israel’s darkest day: the 24 hours of terror that shook the country

Attackers at the border; an Israeli taken hostage; the aftermath at the festival; and destruction at a kibbutz. Photographs: Reuters/AFP; AP; Getty; Guardian

As dawn broke last Saturday over the 40-mile Gaza-Israel barrier, once confidently described as an “iron wall”, Hamas struck at the eyes and ears of Israel’s defence. It was shortly before 6.30am at the end of a Sukkot week of holiday when explosive devices, dropped from above by drones, made a mockery of past claims of impregnability by disabling the wall’s communication towers and its remote-controlled machine gun posts, while snipers picked off sensors and cameras, blinding Israeli defenders, left staring at blank screens, to what was in deadly motion.

Unseen in the weak light of early morning and unheard under the roar of the first of about 2,200 rockets fired towards southern and central Israel, Hamas fighters used wire cutters to make discreet punctures in the 20ft-tall (6 metres) double fence barrier or detonated small explosive loads to create larger openings.

4459.jpg

It allowed their best trained men to scramble across on motorbikes and pickup trucks, their wheels churning up dust, as they embarked on a murderous search for the closest Israeli soldiers.

The shock troops from the military wing of Hamas, known as the Qassam brigades, bristling with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades, were followed by bulldozers and hundreds more armed men, many on foot, swarming through 30 breaches of the defensive line.

Some of the Hamas militants, showing a taste for the spectacular, flew over on motorised paragliders – terror on wings. A total of 1,500 gunmen are believed to have crossed, under a sky lit by rocket fire.

“We have decided to put an end to all of the occupation’s crimes,” announced Hamas’s military commander, Mohammed Deif. “The time is over for them to act without accountability. Thus, we announce the al-Aqsa deluge.”

Over the last week, hours of footage has been shared on social media, taken from security cameras, car dashcams and the phones of terrorists and victims alike, providing an uncomfortably clear picture of how Israel’s darkest day unfolded.

"Washington warns.
Will another conflict break out?

The US Secretary of State is sounding the alarm.
Antony Blinken has warned Joe Biden administration officials that Azerbaijan could attack Armenia in the coming weeks.

The US Secretary of State announced that Washington is closely monitoring the recent tensions between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Antony Blinken indicated that Baku may soon attack Yerevan, said two people familiar with the matter, quoted by Politico.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev earlier called on the authorities in Yerevan to create a "corridor" along the country's southern border.
It would connect mainland Azerbaijan with the exclave bordering Turkey and Iran.

Aliyev threatened that if his demands were not met, he would resolve the issue 'by force.'

In early October, U.S. officials pressed Blinken to put pressure on Baku in response to his country's earlier invasion of the Nagorno-Karabakh region."

Nor have I heard even one call Hamas a terrorist group; they are seen as resistance fighters. Can anyone find a reference to prove me wrong? In the end Israel will be blamed for everything in my opinion.

I am half Palestinian and I, and all that side of my family, condemn massively all the atrocities committed against the Israeli citizens. Just as most normal people, including the Palestinians, would. Saying no Palestinians condemn what has happened is sheer hyperbole. This news has sickened me and caused me extreme anxiety, and I'm not the only one. I'm sure it is true to say that most Palestinian people around the world are now terrified of the Israeli reaction to what Hamas has done.

The majority of the Palestinian people in Palestine just want to live in their homes and be left in peace. Unfortunately, Israeli governmental policy wants all Palestinian people out of the country and the worry and fear of the Palestinians now will be that Hamas has provided the Israelis with the perfect excuse to commit grand scale ethnic cleansing.

Despite what an earlier poster said, this is NOT about religion. My family lived in Palestine pre-1948 and they lived together peacefully - all the Muslim, Christian and Jewish Palestinians. The Muslims/ Christians supported the Jewish people by running errands on the Sabbath; they all celebrated each other's feast days. My (Muslim) uncle was in a Jewish football team whilst at school. I had the privilege of visiting Jerusalem several years ago, and I was in awe of the interconnectedness of the different faiths there. On Friday morning, Christian people re-enacted the walk of Christ to the cross. On Friday lunchtime, Muslim people went to the mosque then queued for falafel sandwiches; on Friday afternoon the Jewish people prepared for the Sabbath. All alongside one another peacefully. The situation is purely political.

I strongly condemn what Hamas has done. It's disgusting and sickening and heartbreaking.

I strongly condemn what the Israeli government has been doing in the country since 1948 - illegal acts of intimidation and provocation against the Palestinians, which always receive very little coverage in the western media and have recently become increasingly worse. For example, on the 17th September, Israeli forces entered the holiest place in Islam - Al Aqsa mosque - and attacked worshippers, preventing them from entering, including beating up an elderly man and an elderly woman. I am not stating this to justify what has happened - it is completely unjustifiable. However, as with anything, it's important to fully understand the political context and I am providing just one small example from the other side. The media cannot be trusted to present the full story.

I'm avoiding the news as much as I can at this point as I find it unbearable, and hope for a peaceful resolution but despair that this could ever be possible. However, I feel it is important to state that it is possible to condemn the Israeli governmental policy that has persecuted the Palestinian people for decades, whilst also condemning the current attacks.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Peter Beinart

When it comes to necessary military operations/force needed to stop Hamas and to search and recover hostages, the collective knowledge of Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Peter Beinart, on this subject, could fit into a thimble.

perhaps why it's better to listen to the legal specialists in this area instead?

"Polish General Command of the Armed Forces announced the end of Operation Neon.

'Task accomplished!
Soldiers of the Polish Army evacuated 1,504 Polish citizens and people from other countries from Israel',
we read in the statement.

'Dear passengers,
we are glad that you are safe!
We would like to thank the transport crews for their effort and perseverance! We remain ready',
says Polish General Command of the Armed Forces in a post on Twitter.

The evacuation of Poles from conflict-affected Israel lasted six days.
Since Sunday, the Polish army has been involved in the evacuation of Polish citizens."

A British friend of mine was teaching English in Libya when civil war broke out there. The British were completely useless and she ended up being evacuated by the Polish on a plane to Warsaw!

Despite what an earlier poster said, this is NOT about religion.
Hamas' slaughter of civilians at a music festival, beheading of babies, and burning of families and subsequent celebratory dancing is Jew hatred at its most extreme. Hamas convinces suicide bombers that status and a religious reward await them for killing Jews.
I'm sure it is true to say that most Palestinian people around the world are now terrified of the Israeli reaction to what Hamas has done.
Then Hamas should be held accountable by Palestinians. Do Palestinians want to be liberated from Hamas? Is Hamas not really the elected party chosen to represent or govern Palestinians?
Hamas has no regard for innocent Palestinians or Jews.
