Right now I am in Gaza
I returned early morning on Saturday from a party in Sderot
My arm was badly injured. I was taken to a hospital in Gaza where they operated on my arm for 3 hours.
I am being looked after, I am given medication and everything is okay.
I ask to be returned home to my family as soon as possible to my parents and siblings.

The U.S. and many countries do not recognize Palestine as a country/state. And Arab states apparently don't want to take in these refugees. The cruise ship under U.S. government that recently left Haifa is only allowing U.S. citizens and some other foreign nationals. They could be dual citizens as well, but not Palestinian refugees that don't have citizenship in other countries as well, like the U.S., etc.

I don't see any country being willing to secure a private cruise ship for refugees that have no guarantee of anywhere else to go based on their citizenship, and I don't see any private cruise ship being willing to take the chance of an endeavor like this.
The U.S. and many other countries are addressing an international humanitarian crisis to help those who must evacuate a war zone. Their citizenship is irrelevant.

Israel has declared war against Hamas, not the families of Gaza who have been horrifically and inhumanely terrorized.

The Kuwaiti specialized hospital in Gaza’s Rafah city said on Monday that it received a second Israeli warning to evacuate the facility, but stressed that the staff will not leave it, the hospital's director, Sohaib al-Hams, told Reuters.

Gee I wonder why.

Only citizens of other countries are being allowed to evacuate Gaza.
Gazans were told to move south of the Gaza River while the Israeli military is on the ground in Gaza City.

I don't believe there are any plans for Palestinians unless they have dual citizenship.

I’ve been on Royal Caribbean cruises a million times.

It’s wise to do this right now, but we have to remember Royal Caribbean is a business.
I‘m certain they have many future cruises already booked for regular passengers. Especially since so many couldn’t cruise during the worst of Covid.

At the moment they can do this because leisure cruises in and out of Israel had to be cancelled for safety reasons, and I’m sure they are being paid, but as a permanent floating home, I don’t see that as possible.

Maybe if a rich Arab country decided to take them on military or other ships, but a commercial cruise ship can’t, IMO, just dump all its future passengers and itineraries.

JMO
I didn't suggest any cruise ship would become a "permanent floating home."

Prior to Hamas attacks, UPenn had a Palestinian dialogue that was "Pro Palestinian". And yes, "Anti Semetic", regarding the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza by Israel. It was held in September.

Now, knee jerk reaction by Jon Huntsman to snap hid checkbook shut, because he didn't like it. Fine. He can do what he wants with his money.

But, this is the United States, where people are free to say what they want. Poor timing, admittedly, but are we going to quash all dissenting viewpoints now? I hope not. I am definitely not antisemitic nor pro Palestinian. But, I embrace the fact that in the United States, we can hear information from both sides.
Don't blame him one bit. I don't support entities that don't align with my values.

Hope more will donators will follow. Its the only thing these Ivy League Schools understand.

"Two dead in Brussels gun rampage:

Man claiming to be ISIS member avenging stabbing murder of US-Palestinian boy, 6,

opens fire on group wearing Swedish football shirts ahead of Euro 2024 qualifier - then goes on the run.

The match between Belgium and Sweden has now been suspended, with players and fans locked inside the stadium. The city's terror alert has been raised to a level 4 - its highest."

We were talking about those who the U.S. deems eligible to board the ships they are using for evacuation and the U.S. is requiring that only those who are U.S. citizens are eligible, although some foreign nationals are also being permitted to board the ships. They are not evacuating Palestinians unless they are also U.S. citizens or perhaps Canadian or other citizens (it hasn't been specified which other foreign nationals they are allowing on the ship). The same applies to the flights that have been leaving with U.S. citizens on board.

In the long run, who profits from this conflict?

Surely, not Jews
Definitely, not ordinary Palestinians

Hamas? Let us leave it at the end.

If we look at the map of the world and see who benefits and who loses, factoring in what's happening now, and what is going to happen (e.g., elections), maybe we'll understand how and why it started. And maybe even what will happen next.

Yes, but there are lots of venues for this outside the universities.

I think a university, in the past, would know better than be the host for a general, unregulated venting of personal opinions. If such a controversial topic were to be addressed, in the past a university would invite highly respected and knowledgeable scholars who knew how to debate based on ideas, not emotions.

JMO
ITA. Taxpayer supported universities should not tolerate the organized venting of personal opinions. My oldest brother attended a public university for his undergraduate degree. The Vietnam conflict was raging. His university said any protests would result in the student being kicked out of the university. My parents made it very clear they would not tolerate him participating.

BREAKING: Hamas military spokesperson says the group is holding an estimated 200 hostages, adding that other terror groups in Gaza are holding more hostages
He clarified that foreign nationals are not being considered hostages and will be freed “when conditions allow”

I had to look up what other terrorist groups could be in Gaza. Possibly the Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).

I think each respective country is doing their own at this time. US is doing US citizens etc etc etc.

Using cruise ships after war ships are in place makes perfect sense to me!

I wonder if Egypt would allow cruise ships to provide "camps" for refugees.

JMO
Moo...I don't see a private cruise line taking on refugees. Someone would have to cover the cost with an indefinite guarantee of payment.

Who would intervene in conflicts among the refugees? Who would provide and pay for medical care, education for the children?

Not feasible in my opinion.

I think it is not just one country. This is bothersome.
Iran - obviously
Turkey, JMO, profits from many conflicts, but not the people, just the leaders who resell oil from the Middle East. But I don't think they are big players in this situation, although definitely rising in power on the world map
Look who wins/loses:
China, Russia?
Ukraine? A loss imho
India?
Pakistan?
Just to look at the big picture

Look at who supports whom, the statements. I am positive it did not happen out of the blue, but I am trying to see the big picture yet.

I was responding to your post in which you said that you wondered if Egypt would allow cruise ships to provide “camps” for refugees. That seemed to me to suggest a place for them to reside.

Therefore my response focused on private cruise ships being businesses which likely are already booked for future cruises with regular paying passengers.

IMO, it is because the US and UK, etc are all friends and allies of Israel, not of Hamas, and not seen as friends by Palestinians.

We give advice to our friends, colleagues, family members ...we try to calm them down, even though they may be quite rightly in a rage. We try to talk them down off a ledge, we try to get them to put the gun down. "Please, take a few deep breaths, think before you act, don't make things worse for yourself, and for everyone." It's because we have that relationship of caring and support.

In addition, the modern west is built on values of human rights. Many people and countries are not. But we do not want to descend back to their level.

"I don’t think we could be more clear than we’ve been, that when it comes to Israel’s security, we have Israel’s back,” he said in Cairo. But he also warned: “The way that Israel does this matters. It needs to do it in a way that affirms the shared values that we have for human life and human dignity, taking every possible precaution to avoid harming civilians.”

JMO
Did Hamas show values for human life, dignity? Didn't Hamas fire the first shot, kill babies, children and adults in inhumane ways?

Double standard in moo ....

Why don't these folks so concerned with Gaza anie up a few billion and help Gaza take back their lands from terrorist rather than judging Israel?

Moo.

How do you mean it is private? Carnival cruise lines is a publicly traded company. The Pentagon made decisions about the air transport of Afghan refugees and the airlines complied. Humanitarian efforts should not be focused on $$$.
