Warning: Explosions / weapons fire

New GoPro footage taken from one of the Hamas terrorits killed in the firefight for the defense of Kerem Shalom, a small Kibbutz positioned exactly where the Egyptian, Israeli, and Gaza borders meet.

Warning: Death / Dying / Blood onto camera lens

In this clip, we see a new angle of Hamas' brutality, this time toward its own people. During the attack, a small force of Community Guards begins engaging the terrorists (not seen in the clip). One of the terrorists is injure (in what the terrorists themselves describe as friendly fire) and reaches out for help.
Rather than come to the aid of their wounded commrade, the terrorists apathetically take his ammunition and weapons, and leave him to die.

In the final clip, we see the terrorist holding the GoPro flee incoming fire from the Community Guards until he is killed. Israeli media reports say this battle at Kerem Shalom lasted for over six hours, where these community guards held off a significantly larger terrorist force and prevented an even bigger massacre.
The Israeli guards lost two of their own in this firefight, to a terrorist grenade.

Using cruise ships after war ships are in place makes perfect sense to me!

I wonder if Egypt would allow cruise ships to provide "camps" for refugees.

JMO

We discussed this earlier and although a cruise ship is willing to work with the U.S. government to transport U.S. citizens to a safe harbor, they are not likely willing to take refugees who may have no place to disembark, i.e. no country will take them in if they can't return to their previous homes for a variety of reasons. Particularly since many Arab nations don't want to take in Palestinian refugees. So they might find themselves in a situation with a ship full of passengers going from port to port.

This, of course, happened to Jews in the 1940s and could happen again to other stateless people.

And this.

Idan Ofer, who owns Quantum Pacific Group, is the world's 81st-richest person, with a net worth of $19.9 billion, per estimates by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Its ranking lists him as Israel's wealthiest person.

Ofer and his wife, Batia Ofer, sat on the executive board of Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. They funded a fellowship for Israeli and Palestinian students to study at the school and a building named after them opened on campus in 2017.

It's so good, but often rare, to see such moral clarity in action.

Britain remains supportive of Israel's right to defend itself but has urged it to show restraint in any military action against Palestinian militant group Hamas in order to minimise harm to civilians, foreign minister James Cleverly said.

As Israel girds for a fearsome ground assault into Gaza, senior Biden administration officials are warning their Israeli counterparts to show restraint and avoid mass civilian casualties and a humanitarian disaster that could turn world opinion against the Jewish state, according to two current and one former U.S. official.

Why is it that Israel has to 'show restraint' ?
No word about Palestinians or Hamas in particular are being told this.
And Israel is already doing this.

Omo.
ITA!

I seriously doubt the world's "opinion" about barbaric terrorism is going to change any time soon.

URGENT CLARIFICATION FROM @UNRWA
With regards to reports on social media of looting of an UNRWA warehouse. UNRWA would like to confirm that no looting has taken place in any of its warehouses in the Gaza Strip.

The images circulating on social media were of a movement of basic medical supplies from the UNRWA warehouse to health partners

Makes total sense (eye roll)

Who said they are "stateless" people? I sure didn't. I'm betting the cruise line is being paid by the government. No tourists are going to be taking those cruise ships any time soon.

Gaza residents are being asked to evacuate during a time of war. Egypt says there is no electricity, source of water, etc. along the Sinai. A cruise ship has an area for health care, preparation of food and could provide humanitarian support to those encamped in Egypt's tent cities, vacant buildings, offices, etc. The U.S. also has military hospital ships that were deployed to NYC during Covid.

IMO, it is because the US and UK, etc are all friends and allies of Israel, not of Hamas, and not seen as friends by Palestinians.

We give advice to our friends, colleagues, family members ...we try to calm them down, even though they may be quite rightly in a rage. We try to talk them down off a ledge, we try to get them to put the gun down. "Please, take a few deep breaths, think before you act, don't make things worse for yourself, and for everyone." It's because we have that relationship of caring and support.

In addition, the modern west is built on values of human rights. Many people and countries are not. But we do not want to descend back to their level.

"I don’t think we could be more clear than we’ve been, that when it comes to Israel’s security, we have Israel’s back,” he said in Cairo. But he also warned: “The way that Israel does this matters. It needs to do it in a way that affirms the shared values that we have for human life and human dignity, taking every possible precaution to avoid harming civilians.”

If you don’t follow Yosef Haddad or haven’t heard him speak, please take this opportunity.

You are actually showing to the world, that Israel is lying, that everything that happened here did not happen and that Hamas is not a terrorist organization @YosephHaddad calls out Anti-Israeli, pro-Hamas propaganda

The U.S. and many countries do not recognize Palestine as a country/state. And Arab states apparently don't want to take in these refugees. The cruise ship under U.S. government that recently left Haifa is only allowing U.S. citizens and some other foreign nationals. They could be dual citizens as well, but not Palestinian refugees that don't have citizenship in other countries as well, like the U.S., etc.

I don't see any country being willing to secure a private cruise ship for refugees that have no guarantee of anywhere else to go based on their citizenship, and I don't see any private cruise ship being willing to take the chance of an endeavor like this.

It's all graphic, but the bit about the unborn child and it's mother ... Just how, how, how can any human being do this? Argggfhhhh.
I haven't posted much but I've been following since this nightmare began. I've seen this question a lot, and it's a valid question for sure. I couldn't answer it myself but I've followed some insight here and elsewhere from folks that have a way deeper understanding of all this than I do.

The way these savages can do what they do, is because their racist idealogy teaches them to believe (from a VERY young age) that Jewish people don't have any good or decent qualities and literally deserve their god's full wrath. As analogies go, none are perfect but in a sense, it's like when we take a swatter and swat flies. Most folks don't give a second thought to it, because just they're just annoying, gross, dirty vermin that make our lives miserable. So we get rid of them, and the "violent" way we do it isn't something that bothers us in the least.

In a very real way, from what I've come to understand, that's how these savages think of the Jewish people. That they deserve not only death, but all of the utter inhuman indignities being done to them, that we're reading about & seeing in pics and videos. Hamas is genuinely proud of what they're doing, and that's why they're recording and taking so many pics of it. It's been said many times that these monsters don't think the same way normal human beings think, and that's something that's hard to come to terms with but that's how & why they are able to do what they do.

There are so many groups/factions/tribes in the middle east, I don't understand who wants what and why. I've been trying to read about Syria... the Houthi. I think it's all too much for me.

ETA: Why does it seem (to me) NONE of these tribes/groups, factions can get along with anyone (inside nor outside their own faith, culture, history, ancestry)??

I agree with you, except for this part about 'normal humans'.

I think, historically, that is the 'normal world'. Young men set loose to massacre, rape and pillage, using the maximum cruelty against their perceived enemies. Rwanda is a recent example, but it used to happen everywhere, even the Roman's main form of entertainment was throwing enemies to the lions, etc.

IMO, we have developed a conscience, a sense of what it means to be 'civilized', that other peoples/cultures/societies/criminals have not.

So, IMO, will we hold on to that belief in what is civilized behaviour, and keep it shining, or will we give in our primitive impulses?

Thanks for your insight ! ^^^^

This is how I'm viewing the words from other nations' leaders : At this time, my opinion is that Israel is already showing restraint, and other countries who may or may not have a dog in this fight should themselves "show restraint" in their advising Israel to "back off" or possibly. "stand down" ?
Not that those words were said specifically, but the spirit of those words is there -- and has been in past years; imo.
Yes, show restraint, but only Israel.

This is a fight for survival of lives.
I don't think Hamas wants to take over Israeli gov't.
IMO, they want to end the lives of every Israeli !
The retaliation must be strong or Israeli may cease to be a nation.

Fwiw, I don't think for a minute that Israel targeted and bombed the very roads that they had said were safe for the peoples of Gaza to evacuate on.
I believe Hamas engineered their destruction and will continue to do so.
I fear for what may happen at the hands of the terrorist Hamas in the hospital.
And there may be weapons & bombs hidden in the hospital and under the streets and within the houses.
This is war and it's not going to be pretty.

But Israel has already (in the past) shown restraint and they dropped leaflets to warn people, not bombs.
My opinion to other nations, who are not currently at risk themselves from Hamas ?
They need to stop telling Israel to show restraint. They (Israel) have been doing so for a long time, and will continue to do so.
It just feel somewhat insulting and disheartening.

Israel's mission/testimony can be partly summed up in their having the Nova concert, a message of peace and unity !

The videos and photos of the victims are haunting and need justice.
Omo.
