If it keeps a land attack stalled it shows that Hamas helped itself by taking so many innocent hostages.

With over 200 hostages will this delay tactic drag out over months?

During his visit to Tel Aviv last week, President Biden said there was "no higher priority" for him than securing the release of the hostages held by Hamas.

Two sources told CBS News the U.S. has sought to slow Israel's plans for a ground invasion of Gaza in order to prioritize the release of hostages and the distribution of aid. The message is said to have been conveyed primarily through defense channels.

IMO - "No".

Israel is well aware of stall tactics when it sees them and I am certain that it will not allow them to stray from their goal of taking out Hamas in the Gaza.

If President Biden threatens to cut off military aid to Israel could that affect their plans for a land attack? Seems like he really wants Israel to hold off on any ground offensive into Gaza.

Here’s the statement from the Lifschitz family following the release of Yocheved Lifschitz, one of two Israeli women hostages freed by Hamas on Monday:

We can confirm that Yocheved Lifshitz, mother of British citizen Sharone Lifschitz, and Nurit Cooper, were released from Hamas captivity in Gaza.
They were handed over to the Red Cross at the Rafah crossing a short time ago, from there they will be transferred shortly to Israel. The families have been informed.

Sharone Lifschitz, who lives in London, said:

I can confirm that my mother Yochi (Yocheved) Lifschitz was one of two hostages released to the Red Cross this evening. While I cannot put into words the relief that she is now safe, I will remain focused on securing the release of my father and all those – some 200 innocent people – who remain hostages in Gaza.

Oded Lifschitz, husband of Yochved, and Sharone’s father, is a veteran Israeli journalist and peace activist who was captured by Hamas with his wife.

Their daughter spoke with the Guardian about their situation earlier this month, and has met UK prime minister Rishi Sunak and opposition leader Keir Starmer in recent days to seek their help facilitating her parents’ release.

Another elderly hostage with UK links is Ada Sagi, a woman in her 80s whose dual-national son Noam has also spoken with government officials.

Then about 10-15 years ago, just some stuff....

I don't know enough about the nation of Israel to "trust" it. It does concern me that humanitarian efforts have been so delayed in reaching Gaza civilians.

IMO it is absolutely imperative that the world knows precisely what Hamas inflicted on their innocent victims.

Shame on those who don’t believe it.

I was not alive during World War Two, so I don’t know how people felt privately about the world at war.

Yet that was between military forces.

IMO, being alive to see what is happening now, I think we are heading toward Armageddon.

These different extremist terrorist entities usually disagree amongst themselves,
but it seems they are all gathering together to achieve their goal of destroying Israel.

Then all the Jews, then everyone who is not Muslim. That’s their stated goal, as we have read numerous times.

This INTENTIONAL infliction of torture, beyond just murder, is proof of a mindset that will not rest until everyone is extinguished who does not share their beliefs. But extinguished in the most abominable ways.

Years ago I read a book called “The Looming Tower.” Maybe in 2006 or so. It was a highly detailed narrative showing how Al-Qaeda and various extremist groups, who had many disagreements and power struggles among themselves, coalesced to plan and execute September 11th.


This Hamas massacre was in the works for awhile.

I personally have no doubts that other terrorists are deep in plans for other attacks. Whether in Israel, the U.S., or anywhere else.

Your post reminded me of Martin Niemoller's oft used quote. I fear others (not Jewish and not Muslim) don't understand they must speak out against all Islamic extremists like Hamas... will they wait until they come for them?

Why would Biden cut off the military aid to Israel? He's providing them with weapons they need in their war with Hamas terrorists. The US fleet of strike ships that have been deployed are to protect US troops in the Mideast if Iran escalates the war. I sure hope it doesn't.

I have very mixed emotions about this.

So very thankful they are released and thankful she has the spirit she does even after what was done to her.

BUT it's propaganda.. and I don't like it. As if them treating these 2 woman like this in this small moment in time is somehow showing the world how they really are. They stand for murdering babies and other elderly woman just like these too... burning them alive in their homes.. just unthinkable things. Ugh I could say more, but it gets my BP up and makes me feel angry all over again.
