THIS!! It's heartbreaking.
It truly is. Terrorist attacks on civilians are horrific but so are military air strikes on civilian residential areas. President Biden sounds pretty fed up.

As his son was dying, he said he wanted to be buried with his surfboard:

These refugee camps are high rise housing projects. They have been there forever. (Since 1948) People are born, raised and die there. It's entirely possible for Hamas to be in them. They were bombed last week. The "camps" are quite large.

Here is how it looked before it was bombed

Ok, thanks for clarifying with links and the photos.

I was thinking 'tent city' ?

How difficult for the IDF if Hamas and thousands of human shields are embedded together ?
Hamas is killing these people, not Israel.

Biden, asked about reports that more than 6K Palestinians have been killed in recent Israeli strikes, said he has "no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth" in stats released."I'm sure innocents have been killed," he adds.Figure is via Hamas-run health ministry.

This. ^^^
The Palestinians can throw any figures out there.
It's impossible to tell unless we're there in person.
And it's a good bet that they're not saying how many died who were embedded with Hamas and forced to be human shields, for the terrorists ?

As stated upthread by the American-Israeli mother whose son was kidnapped - it's easier to hate. Perhaps it is time for new law in the USA preventing victimization of people on grounds of religion - hate crime law.

<modsnip - off topic>
Hate crimes based on religion are illegal in the U.S.:

“This incident cannot help but further raise the fears of Muslim, Arab, and Palestinian communities in our country with regard to hate-fueled violence,” Garland said. “The Department of Justice is focused on protecting the safety and the civil rights of every person in this country. We will use every legal authority at our disposal to bring to justice those who perpetrate illegal acts of hate. No one in the United States of America should have to live in fear of violence because of how they worship or where they or their family come from.”

It is Israel who is lobbing air strikes on Palestinian refugee settlements, not Hamas. I'm still trying to figure out how an Israel tank "accidently" fired at Egypt's border guards.

An Israeli airstrike on the largest refugee camp in the Gaza Strip on Sunday killed at least 30 people, most of them women and children, Al Jazeera reported, citing Gaza’s Ministry of the Interior. At least 27 more people were injured.

In recent days, health officials in Gaza have collected so many bodies that, after Israeli airstrikes over the weekend killed well over 100 people, they no longer have enough shrouds for the dead.

“We’ve been here since the crack of dawn and the bodies have completely filled the hospital yard, on top of the bodies which are in refrigerators which are full, inside the hospital building and outside,” a staff member helping to transport bodies told the BBC.

Very interesting! Why is that so bad? Isn't freedom of expression allowed?

Several reports of Al Jazeera correspondent Wael Al-Dahdouh's family being killed...wife, son and daughter.
So tragic.

"Al Jazeera Arabic producer Safwat al-Kahlout in Gaza’s Deir el-Balah tells us about Dahdouh and his slain family members:

I’ve known Wael for more than 20 years. … His family is one of the most famous families in the Gaza Strip. It’s a well-known family.

“He paid the bill for reporting the truth, which was expected. And now, we have been receiving lots of phone calls from relatives to move and change our places, especially those "who live abroad, thinking that there could be a safe place."

"Dahdouh, a veteran Al Jazeera journalist, was “delivering the truth to the international community and to everyone in the world about what is happening on the ground” when he received the news, Abu Azzoum said.

His family was “residing in the house in … al-Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli aircraft targeted the house,” he said."

It's tragic that hamas is willing to endanger civilian lives by using their own people as humans shields and mixing within the civilian population. And they're supposed to be representing those same people whose lives they put in danger.

"Egypt's show of strength.

Because of the tension in Israel.

View attachment 455801

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi inspected the 4th Armored Division in Suez near the Sinai Peninsula.

The reason is the growing tension between Hamas and Israel.
'What we see today in military formations is a reason to be proud of',
Sisi said.

'We are making significant efforts to provide the civilian population in Gaza with all necessary assistance and alleviate their suffering'
Sisi said, adding that
'Egypt is dealing with all crises wisely and patiently, without excessive use of force'.

In his speech, the Egyptian president said that Egypt 'played a positive role in containing the escalation in the Gaza Strip during five rounds of conflict over the last 20 years'.

President Sisi said that Egypt had
'sufficient strength',
but assured that
'it would only use it rationally'.

'Egypt has the strength to defend itself with reason and patience, and anger should never lead to wrong decisions' Sisi said.

15th military power in the world

The president added that the army, thanks to its strength and wisdom, 'holds no grudges' and that its goal is 'to protect Egypt and its national security'.
He assured that maintaining security is an essential and fundamental role of the armed forces, including protecting the country's borders.

Egypt continues to rank among the world's 15 largest military powers and leads the Middle East and North Africa region in air power, according to the 2023 Global Firepower Rankings, an annually updated statistics-based website tracking defense information."

From my country's MSM
If they really wanted to help the people of Gaza, they'd first let the foreign people through, those trapped at the border waiting to be repatriated, and then they'd either provide sufficient humanitarian aid or allow immigration from Gaza. But even other Muslim countries won't allow the Palestinians in. They don't seem to want them there, which is the most logical solution.

Yes, the bakeries need fuel to make bread with the wheat they have received. The hospitals need fuel to keep the lights on.

The Hamas government in Gaza has fuel. We've seen photos of the storage tanks. The Hamas soldiers of Gaza, the terrorists, are keeping the fuel for their vehicles, their missiles, and to keep the oxygen flowing in their tunnel systems.

Those people who need fuel need to ask their government to give them the fuel they need, to take it away from the soldier terrorists and give it to the civilians. The Gaza government has the power to do that, and should do that.
I'm sure Hamas steals the fuel from the hospitals.
