This is something I’ve been thinking a lot about over the past days.

The only thing I can come up with is that the Israelis are civilized and reasonable people and Hamas is barbaric and unreasonable. A dog rescued from a dog fighting ring usually has to be put down, sadly, because there’s no retraining or reasoning. imo That’s the only analogy I can come up with and that’s why the world is attempting to reason with Israel. imo

Just a reason and not an excuse.
I would say the message would not be for HAMAS. We know they won't do anything that isn't self serving, but the people of the world need to hear that HAMAS is a terrorist group and their actions will not be tolerated.

We don't side with the bully simply because we know the person being bullied will play fair and it nice. The message that bullies won't be tolerated is more for the others watching that think they might like to be a bully also. Right? So now we see all these protests and look at Russia and those people storming the airport and the runway. Man NOT denouncing terrorism will breed more terrorism. The world needs to take a stand that what HAMAS did on oct 7 will not be tolerated. We haven't seen that. We've sure seen a lot of pressure on Israel to back off, wait, etc. How about unanimous agreement that HAMAS has to go?

Is this flight from Israel an Israeli airline? If so, do Israeli airlines have armed security on their flights?
It's a Russian carrier.

Flight apparently originated in Tel Aviv.

People are crazy.....

Keep in mind, this is in Chechnya. People are treated like second class citizens over there. Maybe this is displaced aggression at Russia??? Who knows???

Yes, I wasn't meaning to pick on males.

So what does this indicate for future potential threats, specifically airlines, airports, others…

This is just, no words.

A Senior Israeli Security Official has stated that they are currently Coordinating that Russian Security Services in Dagestan to insure the Safety of a Small Group of Israels/Jews who have been taken by Bus to a Secure Location at the Airport; a Flight to Moscow is currently being planned with Russian Officials but it is not known now long that could take.

The Russian National Guard and Security Forces have now Stormed the Tarmac at Makhachkala International Airport in Dagestan and are Mass Arresting any of the Rioters who did not Flee.

According to Russian Authorities, the Situation at Makhachkala International Airport in Dagestan is now “Under Control” with Security Forces having Removed all of the Rioters from the Runways, Tarmac, and Airport Interior.

What have any other middle eastern states/countries done for Palestinians other than set-up refugee camps since 1948? It seems to me, most just said, "Here's a camp, now stand your own ground!" Maybe Jordan has done more, I'm not sure.

How many religions (extreme or otherwise) have their own military forces that openly want to brutally kill those of a differing religion and atheists? How many of these religious sects starve their own "believers" in order to brutally kill non-believers? How many religious sects use their "believers" as human shields and bargaining tools while claiming "We are the victims!"?

Who is fighting for peace?? What does peace mean to pro-Palestinians??

If pro-Palestinians love religious extremists... then, what's the point?

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi speaks to troops on the Gaza border, October 29, 2023. (Israel Defense Forces)

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi told troops on the Gaza border earlier that the military is solely focused on “dismantling Hamas.”

“We are at war, you understand that from day one. It will be a long process and we are now at the stage where we are hitting the enemy hard, also inside the Gaza Strip,” Halevi said.

“The IDF is now focused on only one thing: victory, dismantling Hamas, hitting as many enemy commanders as possible, as many enemy fighters as possible, and as much enemy infrastructure as possible,” he said.

Joshua Loitu Mollel and Clemence Felix Mtenga from #Tanzania were in Israel as a part of an Agricultural Internship Program.

They were kidnapped by Hamas terrorists and are being held hostage in Gaza.

Please join us in praying for their safe and immediate return. #BringThemHome

Disgusting & sick.
Innocent people who were there to learn and better themselves; and bring this knowledge back to their home country ?

Not just Israelis --- any innocent souls Hamas could kidnap.
I think besides Hamas' eternal hatred for Jewish people -- they don't hesitate to terrorize everyone they can seize.
I hope these men are alive, but I shudder to think what's happening to them if so.
Imo.
Godspeed, Joshua and Clemence !

Thousands still sheltering inside Al-Quds hospital

Rushdi Abualouf
Reporting from Gaza

It’s quieter tonight here in southern Gaza compared to recent days, but what is making headlines is the Al-Quds hospital in the north.

A lot of air strikes hit the area around the hospital throughout the day, damaging most of the nearby buildings and a residential tower.

The shops in the area were also destroyed, as were all the roads leading to the hospital.

Some of the strikes landed within around 10 metres of the hospital’s outside gates, affecting parts of the building in which thousands of civilians have sought refuge.

Medical teams have been distributing masks to help people protect themselves from the huge amounts of dust and smoke getting inside.

Tonight is going to be very hard. Some of the patients at the hospital have been severely injured by this war and eight of them are still connected to life support machines.

Kidnapped from Israel group demonstrate in London

Katherine Da Costa
Live reporter

Bring them home, bring them home - that’s the chant coming from a crowd of more than 200 members of the Kidnapped From Israel group outside the Qatar embassy in central London.

One man on a megaphone speaking to the crowd says “every minute feels like an eternity”, adding that the group will continue to protest and shout this message until every one of the 230 Israeli hostages held by Hamas is released.

There are large Israeli flags and hundreds of posters being held up of the faces of some of those held captive.

Qatar is playing a key role in the negotiations for the release of hostages - so far 4 women have been freed.

Hamas says it has hidden the hostages in "safe places and tunnels" within Gaza.

While the Israeli military expands its operation in Gaza, families of some of the hostages being held by Hamas have expressed concern about the intensifying attacks.

More IDF forces going into Gaza this week, former Israeli national security adviser says

This week will see more IDF forces going into Gaza and deeper ground attacks against Hamas, Yaakov Amidror, a former national security adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said Sunday.

“We are approaching the whole operation very slowly to minimize casualties on our side and the Palestinian side,” the retired major general told NBC News in a telephone call.

Amidror receives regular briefings from Israeli officials and said the IDF is working to defeat Hamas commanders in senior and mid-level leadership.

Video shows Hamas launching weaponized drone from Gaza residential building during October 7 attack

Hamas launched at least one of its weaponized drones in the October 7 terror attack from a residential building in southern Gaza, video circulating social media shows.

CNN geolocated the takeoff site in the video to a residential building on the eastern outskirts of Khuza'a, in southern Gaza.

It's the latest video to come to light from captured Hamas weaponry and body cameras that sheds new insight into how Hamas conducted its surprise assault on Israel.

The drone is seen rising in the video from the building, away from Khuza'a and toward the Gaza-Israel border. A second video, taken near an Israeli military outpost just east of Nir Oz, shows the drone flying.

It is suddenly heard losing propulsion and is then seen hitting the ground. It's unclear what caused the drone to crash, and it's unclear whether it dropped munitions before crashing.

Facts count.
I know....but they take long to explain....
It is important to distinguish this area from Central Russia and there have been long tensions in this Muslim area.

In 1999, an Islamist group from Chechnya, led by Shamil Basayev and Ibn Al-Khattab, launched a military invasion of Dagestan, with the aim of creating an "independent Islamic State of Dagestan". The invaders were driven back to Chechnya by the Russian military. In retaliation, Russian forces reinvaded Chechnya later that year.[citation needed] Dagestan underwent a rise in Islamic militancy in the early 2000s.[24] Violence in the Republic occurred in 2010–2012.[citation needed] This upsurge led some people to fear that Dagestan was about to enter into a sectarian civil war. Dagestan became the epicenter of violence in the North Caucasus with Makhachkala, Kaspiisk, Derbent, Khasavyurt, Kizlyar, Sergokala, Untsukul, and Tsumada all becoming hotbeds of militant unrest. UAE calls emergency UN security council meeting to seek pause to Gaza fighting

Arab representative on 15-strong council will seek binding resolution demanding Israel accept humanitarian pause

Patrick Wintour Diplomatic editor

An emergency meeting of the UN security council requested by the United Arab Emirates will be held on Monday as the council’s Arab representative seeks a binding resolution demanding that Israel accepts a humanitarian pause to the fighting in Gaza.

One hour after Israel launched its expanded operations in Gaza on Friday, the 193-strong UN general assembly voted 120 to 14 with 55 countries abstaining for a humanitarian pause, but the assembly, bringing together all nations recognised by the UN, does not have the power to pass binding resolutions, unlike the 15-strong security council.

(...)

The UAE has asked for UN aid head, Martin Griffiths, and Philippe Lazzarini, the head of the UN agency providing aid to Palestinians (UNRWA), to brief the security council on Monday.

Four previous efforts to secure some form of ceasefire resolution have so far failed at the security council due either to Russia or the US wielding its veto, but the pressure is now on all sides to end the arguments between superpowers over responsibility for the explosion in violence and instead focus on bringing the bloodshed to an end.

In a sign of the tensions being created in some of the debates at the UN, Thailand reproached Erdan, Israel’s UN ambassador, for showing a video to the UN general assembly depicting a Hamas terrorist attempting to behead a Thai national during the 7 October attack.

The Thai foreign ministry said it “disapproves of the display of such footage, which does not afford the proper respect and due consideration for the deceased and his family”.
