I'm still not sure I am seeing what the huge deal about this "revelation" is. he is a county worker, with a regular route, who knew the child was missing. I would be willing to bet that all county workers in that area were briefed to keep their eyes out. he knew his area was immediately local to Caylee's home. he may also have been playing a bit of amateur sleuth (the same as we all do here, just local). So he called in anything in the neighborhood that seemed out of place. A stray bag by the road, or an odd smell. Possibly something about the area bothered him.

And you know what. He was right.

I am not seeing the controversy here. A county worker did his job, and kept his eyes open and reported what he thought was relevant. Isn't this the sort of thing that post 9/11 we expect our public employees to be? Situationally aware of the area's that they operate in?

Good post. I agree with you and with Coastal.

This isn't going to give the defense any sort of advantage. Regardless how many times the meter reader called or whether LE missed finding Caylee when responding, the sheer volume of forensic evidence from the remains, bag, tape and other items (in addition to the evidence already analyzed) will totally bury Casey Anthony.

As far as her guilt is concerned, it won't matter whether someone else may have moved the remains (and I don't believe for a second they did) because there will still be ample evidence to prove that Casey murdered her daughter. Suggesting or trying to prove that SODDI because a bag may have been moved won't negate the evidence against her for the actual murder itself. Won't even come close to raising reasonable doubt, IMO.

Are they recanting what they aired last night on the Greta Van S, show...?

About the area not being flooded

I didn't see Greta last night, so I don't know what was said. I was watching Fox this afternoon, and they had a male reporter on the scene claiming some woman had pictures of the area the remains were found in. They also claimed to have previously stated, on air, that they had footage of the same spot, taken in August. Trace Gallagher asked him if the woman was credible and he alluded that he did not think so. Later in the next hour he said he was directed there by this same woman.

Bottom line: These reporters are running with any bit of info they can get their hands on without verifying it. And of course most can't be verified, because LE is tight lipped. I know this from experience, because they have shoved cameras in my face in the past.

I saw that interview too Realist! This cuty patuty fox newsman also stated this woman was from TES. It has been reported today onW/B that this woman is part of the Kid Finders network.

The Meter Reader is not what's bothering me....

It's the fact that the OCSD did not find the Bag - They were there TWICE

TES was there...

Fox news showed a Video of that area from August 5th - the exact area & it was as dry as a sandbox

No matter how you look at this it's bad news for the prosecution

It may be "Coincidence" & LE can try to explain it away but if there are any more Coincidences then LE better start worrying

2 uniformed deputies "had a look". this is not the same as a search. As sad as it may seem, without some clear compelling evidence the typical uniformed officer is probably going to be a little less then enthusiastic about crawling down into a densely overgrown and swampy area. So a good bet would be that any "searching" they did that day was from pavement. (and be honest, if you were in their shoes, how enthusiastic would you be in getting down into the mud?). Not the deputies finast moment,a nd a major error on LE's part. But not outside the realm of normal day to day realities.

What are the chances of this dude having the same last name as the nanny that doesn't exist? Don't you feel like someone's just going to pop up on your computer screen and yell "smile, you're on Candid Camera!":bang:

In Florida????

Are the NFL football players with that last name also related to Zanny??? I can think of TWO players with that last name that are all-star players.

Are the more than 300 in my area's white pages related to Zanny, too?

Greta Van S showed Taped Video footage that her show recorded back on August 5th

It showed what they say is the exact area that the bag was found & it was not flooded.

I was disgusted with this show tonite. If this case dissolves into legal posturing and maneuvering, like the OJ trial, I will be horrified. Those splits screens of everyone yelling and bickering gave me shuddering flashbacks. And then throw in an unsilenced CA into the mix...omg

I hope cool heads prevail and justice will win out.

Reasonable doubt is the problem. Jurors sometimes have trouble discerning "reasonable" from no doubt, shadow of a doubt, unreasonable doubt. It seems some juries don't see what is "beyond" reasonable. JMHO of course!

Not with this.

The truth is what it is.

On a site where hundreds of people have wanted to "find Caylee", why would a worker who is in the neighborhood anyway "looking around" while on his route be a surprise?

How many of us in other states WISH we lived close enough and had opportunity to follow our hunches?

How many here have called or e-mailed LE with "tips"...maybe more than once?????? How many empty garbage bags were found on the organized *official* searches? (I bet LOTS!)

Maybe it was luck or maybe a higher power wanted Caylee brought home and for the "Caylee is alive" games to end.

I bet that worker was SHOCKED to actually find something. I am so glad he did.

IMO

They should have sent women out to search. Men can't find the mustard in the refrigerator when it's staring them in the face.

Gotta have a uterus to be able to find anything, even to LOOK for anything.
Bet they find out now that the meter reader has had a sex change. LOL

That footage was recanted. It was 35-75 yards away from where Caylee was found. Their main source for the info to begin with has also been discounted. In fact sleuther's have discovered much about her. She's pending trial for a felony and currently under state mandated mental health screening. Her husband supposedly works for Team Anthony and as far as I'm concerned she has an agenda. Fox backed off big time today.

I totally agree. I think its hard for people who don't live in Florida to truly get a sense of how scary that swampy land is. I've lived here most of my life, and I will be the first to say that no way would I go traipsing through those snake infested areas. We're talking big, poisonous snakes that live up under those palmetto bushes and mean water moccasins that will chase you and are deadly. No way! So, I could see where one would be a bit hesitant to go crawling down in there to check things out by themselves. Also, if that area was covered in water, they could have searched like crazy and not have found anything if the black bag was mixed into the mud. And, if they drained the water, they may have disturbed the crime scene, so I'm not all that sure that anything could have been done even if they had investigated further.

Also, if anyone has a link to that Fox video of the area where it wasn't flooded, I'd love to see it. I looked on Fox's website, but I didn't see it. Or, if you did see it, maybe you could answer a couple questions for me. :) Was it shot at street level, like of a reporter in front of the woods? Or did the camera crew actually go down into the woods and explore? Just curious, because I think at street level, one may not know that it was swampy and flooded down below.

Unfortunately the jury will probably not feature any WS'ers. I have seen other juries confuse reasonable doubt with "any doubt". The judge, IMO, has to make sure they understand what the directive means. Baez and team will be trying to show EVERYTHING is reasonable doubt, when it's not.

posted on another thread also- (bolded by me) hoping one of supersleuths will see it-

Okay, the JVM thread is all abuzz, due to reports that the Aug trash bag (by the side of the road, and smelly?) was grey and the Remains trash bag being black.

Can one of the supersleuthers that knows how to access police reports, that I think are public record, see what can be found about any incident in that area Aug, 11, 12 and/or 13? Might go well towards stomping out some of the speculation and conspiracy theories that are flying.

My theory- In August, IF there was a grey trash bag by the road, not JUST a smell, LE may have checked it, found a dead pet dumped and let it go as that, without giving info to meter reader. All he knows is that he called, they responded (one or more of those days) said we'll take it from here and that was it as far as he knew. IF there was just a smell, LE may have checked it and found a bag with dead animal remains, or just a rotting animal, chalked the smell up to that and may or may not have even filed a report. Jump to Dec. Meter reader is back on regular route, water in area is down now, may or not have had to pee, goes into woods, maybe pokes around out of curiousity, finds BLACK bag, calls it in to supervisor to report, since he knows he already called LE in Aug and doesn't want them to just ignore him as a repeat crank about the same area. And there ya go...Taa Daa!

I think your theory is quite feasible, and is what I'm leaning towards believing myself. Thank goodness he had that nagging feeling to check it out further.

Fox recanted that video for several reasons, the video they showed was 35-75 yards away. And their source for the info to begin with, has turned out to a piece of work and connected to the A fam. Y'all should go to the private forum and read the rumor thread. :)

But if it was just an empty grey bag, why did he go back to the scene 3 months later? And then coincidentally find a black bag with her remains? It doesn't add up to me.
Frankly, I don't think it looks good for the prosecution if they can't prove he had "something" to do with Caylee's disappearance. The defense will be able to use this as reasonable doubt.

Bodled by me.
He was RELOCATED to another part of the county... That is why.

Hillsborough County Deputy warns others to be careful of snake bites
http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=53246
By: Valerie Boey

Ruskin, Florida-As a deputy, Brandon Parker often helps people during emergencies. But last November, he was the one who needed assistance while hiking with a buddy, “Out of no where I got bitten on the left leg by an eastern diamondback rattlesnake, it was about 6 1/2-7 foot long. After the bite I felt the burning sensation, my hands started tingling, my legs were tingling and my face was tingling.” Within nine-minutes he couldn't feel anything from his neck down, “When I became paralyzed and lost my ability to move and started to feel the effects of it I got real scared.” But luckily he was able to get help, “Seek medical attention immediately within the first couple of hours it's crucial.”

Snakes scaring, sharing habitat
On Thursday, a landscaper was bitten by a pygmy rattlesnake in Hunter's Green as he pulled weeds. Angel Gonzalez (no relation) was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Nationally, 7,000 venomous snakebites are reported annually, according to the Palm Beach Herpetological Society. Of those, about 15 end in death.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.:blowkiss:

To add, I have seen the meter reader criticized too, for not going to the bag.'

You don't just go to something in the Florida woods.

It does not matter that it is in a populated urban neighborhood. People have patches of woods in their own yards through which human travel is impossible.

These types of places are so dense, thickly overgrown with hostile killer vegetation, and dense razor sharp growth, you cannot get through without tools and equipment.

Whatever is the little thing that assists him in reading a meter, it is not a laser which can clear a path through a jungle -like growth which can tear a person apart.

On top of that there are loads of venomous snakes, along with an assortment of poisonous spiders, including but not limited to very well camouflaged scorpions. Some of these can inflict serious damage with one bite. They can be fatal to a compromised immune system or to one "under the weather. ".

Again, all this that I have just described, can be found in people's yards.
When the area is more isolated or separated from daily human activity, the wild life is more prevalent and the vegetation is more out of control.

Factoring in that there are geographical inclines in the area, that generally will mean that you can expect to be sinking into camouflaged areas of deep mud, slimey stuff, and swarming infestations...all available for your added discomfort.

I'm done.:blowkiss: (for now:))
