So, somewhere out there is a $$$15, 000 dollar ring and yet there was no burglary?

No insurance claim was ever filed and no police report from/by the homeowner was made. There is info from non-homeowners provided to the police, but officially the homeowner never claimed to police that anything was stolen/burgled/taken and there was nothing filed with the insurance company for damages from theft.

Here is the complete floorplan

<respectully snipped for space>

There's something a bit off in the plans as the toilet in the master bedroom looks to be a miniature toilet. The purse was on the floor at the end of the counter that is next to the fridge. It was not visible from the stairwell.

The door leading to the garage was right off the kitchen, not actually in the kitchen, got it!
Thanks for clearing that up..and.....I still don't think Michelle would just leave her purse on the floor.
On the kitchen counter, out of CY's reach, maybe, would be much more likely.

That's true, but we also know garbage bags were left out on the kitchen counter that night/morning, which would mean if someone grabbed some garbage bags to dispose of evidence they would have stepped further into the kitchen where they would have been able to see more items in the kitchen. Testimony is that lights were seen on in the home somewhere around the 3:30am - 4am time, which if true, implies whoever was in the house was not engulfed in total darkness. The implication is they could see things.

Between 4 and 5AM, the lights were on and a vehicle was parked at the house. Jason could not have been at the house at that time, and at the hotel at 6:35AM. Were the lights on and a vehicle was seen between 4-5AM?

" ... between 4am and 5am delivering newspapers.

On the morning of November 3, 2006, the residence at 5108 Birchleaf Drive stood out because all of the lights, inside and outside the home were on," said the warrant. "The Delivery Person stated that they thought that the residents may have had a party."

They also saw a light colored SUV parked near the home and thought that this may have been one of the last guests to leave," the warrant added. "The light colored SUV seen by the New York Times delivery person is similar...to the vehicle, a white Ford Explorer, driven by Jason Young at the time of the murder of Michelle Young."

It really is sickening. The prosecution should be required to call witnesses whether they fit their theory or not. After all, they are supposed to be after the truth.

This one is not nearly as important as Terry Tiller's timeline change, but in another search warrant, they wrote that Jennifer Sproles (meeting) used the word hyper to describe JY. Yet, at both trials, she never said that word, she said a little nervous, leg shaking or trembling a little, but she said he acted normal......
How did they get hyper from that?

Was the perp supposed to enter the kitchen first, before the murder, and search for a purse? If so, why? Was the perp supposed to search for a purse after the murder?
It was stated that the perp entered the house and used the back stairs. He must have been in the kitchen if there are blood stains on the kitchen doorknob.

That doesn't mean that nothing was stolen. I had a bike stolen and I didn't report it or file a claim, but the bike is still gone. Similarly, Michelle's rings and jewelry are still missing.

Look at the floorplans. The door that is referred to as the kitchen door knob leading to the garage is in fact the stairwell door leading to the garage. There is no door between the kitchen and the garage. There is a stairwell between the kitchen and the garage.

Can someone point me to the screen shots from the Hampton Inn camera showing it pushed toward the ceiling?

Also, did LE check cameras to see if they could find JY driving to and from RDU?

These are the floorplans that I put together years ago ... they look a bit sloppy to me now, but whether I believe that Jason is guilty or innocent, my belief regarding how the perp entered the house has not changed. I suppose there could be debate about whether the perp entered through the garage people door or the overhead door. I think it's quite possible that the perp left the same way that he/she entered.

These plans were put together as part of a 3D model prior to any trial ... so there was a bit of hit and miss in terms of details. It looks like I placed the child's bedroom in the spare room - per the other floor plans. It's also easier to see that the kitchen does not connect to the garage.

I find the fact that Michelle would just leave her purse on the floor with a 2 year old in the home not something she would likely do. 2 year olds get into everything, and if Michelle had makeup or anything like that, I am sure CY would be just as curious as any other 2 year old.

But you don't know that. They had gone to bed for the night. What it does illustrate to me is that MY went to bed with no worries or fear of an intruder. An unlocked door and her purse in plain sight. Despite JY claiming he heard noises in the past and SS being spooked that very night she was comfortable and secure in her own home. IMO.

Apparently Michelle was unconcerned about intruders. What did she say about it to her friend ... something like ... if someone is going to come in and kill you there's not much to be done?

Consensus? There is no evidence that the child woke up in the middle of the night. There is evidence that the child stepped in blood, was in the bathroom, and smeared blood on the walls. We don't know if she washed her own feet.

Two sides? It seems apparently to me that there are many ways to interpret the evidence, not two.

I have 2 small kids, one is 3 and yes I leave my purse on the floor in my kitchen all the time.

My daughter has three children under the age of 4 and everything that children shouldn't access is placed up high, but perhaps Michelle left everything at floor level and was unconcerned about a 2 year old wandering away with her car keys, cell phone, and other personal items.

Yes, sounds rather cavalier but I doubt that she really meant that. Had she any inkling she would have battened down the hatches to protect her daughter, herself and her unborn baby don't you think? Come to think of it maybe she did and the intruder used his key.

I would never leave my purse on the floor, and not because it is or isn't expensive. I imagine Michelle had very nice things and I see this purse as either being old or an extra one she kept around......Michelle was described as being very organized with attention to detail.
Leaving her purse on the floor with a little one around wouldn't be something she would do, when she could have so easily put it on the kitchen counter out of CY's reach..IMO.

Umm...that is considered acting hyper. If he was "normal" then those things you just listed wouldn't have occured. Shaking of the leg/trembling is a nervous habit. Haven't you ever had a habit like that, say if you're waiting for the doctor or nervous about something. It's just the same as biting your nails.

Isn't a bike alot different than a $15,000 ring??

She had one little girl. They were probably always together. No reason to worry about such things.
