Working alone at a convenience store overnight is one of the most dangerous jobs a woman can have......and not only should she had reported it, there should have been a memo issued to other gas stations in the area.
Jason got in her face, that is how she described her encounter with him. That means he was a threat to her,
that is, if, he was ever there.
I believe Gracie was used, a convenience store with no cameras, a cash transaction, and a clerk who had brain damage...... Umm, isn't that just a little too much?
Wouldn't you like just one thing to back it up?
Oh, and the male witness who was supposedly there,he just stood by and watched? He didn't tell Jason to back off.
And, Jason would make a scene and in front of 2 people now?
What if the guy hauled off and hit him and left a bruise on Jason's face or Jason punched back and had a
bruise on his hands or knuckles?
Just what he would need after killing his wife and fleeing in the middle of the night undercover from a murder scene, to draw attention to himself?
Really? How in the world was this ever able to fly?

So many stories like this.....![]()
Would it have really made a difference if she had of told someone? None of you pro JY would believe her. You all say that the "anti" JY don't have an open mind and only look at evidence that "fits" our theory. Well the same for all of you. You dismiss the HP shoes, dismiss GB, dismiss all the evidence that points to JY.
If GB was too handicapped to work and live in a normal environment she would not have a DL, a job.......she would need help with her ADL. She doesn't.

If GB was too handicapped to work and live in a normal environment she would not have a DL, a job.......she would need help with her ADL. She doesn't. When the case first started I thought he was NG. I actually thought someone else (like most of you) had done it. But it wasn't until I really starting reading and researching eveything that I came to the conclusion that JY and only JY had done this horrible crime. And, if MY had been one of your family members how would you feel about this crime? the kind of person JY is? the pain of having to go through another trial and the possibility that he could walk? I know some don't want to believe that their family member could do such a horrible thing but after their actions......or I should say non-actions they speak louder than words. Even his closest friends thought he did it after a while. No one else besides JLY had the means and/or motive to want to get rid of MY. He was a cheater,he lied, disrespectful to MY.........again actions speak louder than words. he may have told people he was happy about another baby and loved MY and didn't want a divorce but if that were the case who would have been a much more loving husband to MY.
Btw......I am open minded, if there was hard evidence that pointed to someone else and anyone could prove that JY is not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt than I have no problem saying that he is NG. But until that happens I will stick with my opinion that he is guilty. And being a tax paying citizen of NC I have no problem with a third trial. IMO, he will be found guilty again. Now the other 2 re-trials.......MP guilty.....so guilty and it makes me mad that he is out on bond. BC...didn't really watch the trial or keep up with it so I have no opinion on his guilt or innocense.
I feel bad for Gracie because she is mocked and vilified on this board just because she is simple and unsophisticated.
Jason needs no clown costume nor Uhaul, IMO.
Clowns creep me out.
I haven't seen that here at all. I don't fault her (unless she's lying). I fault the investigators and prosecutors for not doing a better job at ensuring she was identifying the correct person. Had they done that, I believe they wouldn't have been able to use this witness at all because she wouldn't have picked JY in any type of a line up.
It bothers me when they refrain from doing everything possibly to ensure the integrity of the testimony and evidence - simply because they can get away with it.
In the Cooper case they never 3rd party verified the Google search and it was standard procedure to do so. Had they done it, they wouldn't have been able to use the evidence at all because it wouldn't have been traced to Cooper. So instead they present unverified evidence and everyone is to accept it without question.
These are the things that I have a problem with.

I accept your explanation but I disagree that there haven't been posts dripping with sarcasm about Gracie. In fact, some have said they downright don't believe her. MOO.
As to Gracie. My concerns for her are (1) That she was shown a photo of Jason by himself and asked if that was the person. (2) She identified the person who yelled at her as balding and about her height, neither of which fit JY's description. (3) She told the investigators that there was a regular customer in the station at the time who has not been able to be located after a very intensive search.
The timeline and the gas receipts prove to be a hurdle that the prosecution has not explained with any evidence whatsoever. The investigators have made an intensive search between Raleigh and Hillsville and have not been able to find any evidence that Jason purchased gasoline anywhere other than the places indicated by the receipts that were found. Those gasoline receipts are consistent and cover the distance that Jason would have driven without a return to Raleigh very concisely.
The two different shoe prints found at the scene have never been explained coherently by the prosecution or anyone else as to how they could have both been made by Jason. None of those explanations have been supported by any evidence. Rationally, the existence of two different sets of prints, without any evidence to the contrary point to two different people being at the crime scene.
The presence of fingerprints at the crime scene and DNA on cigarettes at the crime scene which have not been identified raise questions which have never been answered and have been ignored by the prosecution and those who feel that Jason is guilty.
All of the "he could have done this" or "he could have done that" do not rise to the level of evidence and are just conjecture. Conjecture is not reality and should not be used in any proceeding, criminal or civil, used against a person.
I do not know if Jason is guilty or not. What I am claiming is that the prosecution has not met its burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt, and I have stated a few of the reasons, none of which have been refuted, why I believe such to be the case.
When the prosecutors have to resort to character assassination in order to win their case (and that has proven to be a remarkably effective ruse), it is normally a good sign that the actual evidence is flimsy.
Can you please cite some actual evidence that unequivocally puts Jason at the crime scene on the night of the murder??? Or that enables him to have been there?
Thanks,
Glenn
Let's just say for the sake of this endless convenience store argument, Jason was in King, NC and purchased $15.00 worth of gas. The Hampton Inn is another 45 miles miles away...sooooooooooooo,
where is Jason's next gas stop that am?

My husband worked in a gas station while in college and had to do both opening and closing shifts.......sometimes by himself and he never once had a problem or situation.
Really not been following here, and notice it is getting tense again :sigh:
Anyhooooo-
Are you saying he can not go 45 miles on 15 dollars worth of gas?
That would get him between 6-7 gallons in 2006 ($2.20 pg average).
Seems like 45 miles is not a stretch at all.
ETA- Or am I misunderstanding something in your post?
FYI- Gas Price Chart http://www.eia.gov/dnav/pet/hist/LeafHandler.ashx?f=W&n=PET&s=EMM_EPMR_PTE_NUS_DPG
Do you know if his exployer was a 6 cy or 8 cy? I can't remember.
TIA
Hey..
I am saying the trip back to the Hampton Inn (45 miles) is going to eat up some of the $15.00 in gas he purchased in King, and that he would have to make another stop before he gets to his meeting in Clintwood, which is another 145-150 miles, so where did he stop? Show me where he stopped along the way, and then the argument of his being in King, NC could become more valid.
