We need some neighbor witnesses, when did they last see him? Did anything worry them about him?

You know right now at any given high school there are teenagers wearing PJ pants like they are actual pants. LOL I have one of them and as I drop her off at school and look around there are teens everywhere wearing plaid PJ pants. 🤣

I was a teen in the 90s and we did this back then. I never cared if I was in PJ pants for the school run as a parent. My youngest is Jayden's age and he won't even step on the porch to bring in a DoorDash without "real" clothes on. And we're both ND/autistic.

My kids would totally leave the house in pjs at that age.
Okay, so maybe he would feel comfortable with Sonic jammies outside the house.

(My kids would not have at age 10 - not until they started wearing more "loungewear" type clothes to bed, like t-shirt, sweatshirt, etc.)

Would a 10yo feel comfortable venturing outside in the dark? I'm thinking no, but perhaps parents have different perspective on that too.

We don’t know that he ventured out in the dark. It could be early in the morning with sunrise.

No way. Mine doesn't even like to go to another floor in the house after dark.

“Any time you are dealing with a missing individual, it is a tragedy. But when it's a 10-year-old child, that completely changes the dynamic of it," KSP Trooper Matt Gayheart said.

KSP, Breathitt County Emergency Management, and local rescue teams have been searching for Spicer since Wednesday morning. Authorities say the search will be expanded on Friday.

"In this situation, we want to keep hope alive, but we are racing against the clock," Trooper Gayheart said.

Officials emphasize that the mountainous terrain and several bodies of water in the area, including Panbowl Lake, make the search particularly challenging.

"The more time he spends outside in the elements, unfortunately, statistically speaking, the chances of finding him safely diminish," the trooper explained.

[…]

Crews are combing a 20-mile radius around Spicer's home, with plans to expand the search area tomorrow.

Am I the only one who feels strange over the letter?
It's weird for sure. It literally looks like a child wrote it, with the big printed words, double-spaced, in pencil, like it's a 5th grade school assignment. It's also weird that she spells his name with a lower case j a couple of times, like a kid would. I'm not implying any of this means anything whatsoever, it's just bizarre to me to see an adult write a note like this, idk.

Mildred Shannon, who lives more than a mile away from Spicer's house, said her family immediately checked their security cameras when they heard about the missing child.

"There are a lot of coyotes, you got the snakes and things at night, so a child, even a young adult, probably aren't safe out of the woods at night," Shannon said.

"Everybody cares, you wouldn't want your son, your grandson...lost in the woods at night. It's not safe," she added.

In the video you shared, am I correct in assuming they showed the boy's home? It was brief but I saw a mobile home with a lot of accumulated items on the porch.

This home does not look far from other homes. Anyone else have any impressions of this neighborhood?

Panbowl Lake looks like an upside down "U". The officer in the video says that JS' home is right off of Highway 1812-- the eastside of Panbowl Lake.

Two elementary schools (not shown on my map) are located inside the U in the eastern portion. These are Breathitt Elementary School and Sebastian Elementary School. The schools are very close to one another.

My bff was a sleep walker. She said one night she woke up on the swings at a park near her house.

But the thing about sleepwalking is you do wake up. This is too long.

I can't find a handwritten letter anywhere. Anyone have any info? I would like to take a look.

I agree with everything you've said. I'm wondering the same thing, and, if today was his first day of school why would she wait to wake him? I personally can't imagine not checking on my children for that many hours.
Bingo.

When LE went to the house, were things out ready for the first day of school?
Backpack
Lunch bag
Possibly a uniform
