This breaks my heart. I almost did not click on this thread because it affects me so hard. Another precious little boy gone.
oh God. The same.
Once I get the horrible updates... I have to stop following.
And so many of these cases ...all....the.....time.

Poor little soul. I sure hope there's a heaven, because Jayden and so many like him deserve so much more than they got in life

I agree, the most sadest part of it is majority of the time it happens because the courts and CPS fails these kids.

I would argue that the parents fail these kids. :(

I totally agree!

But handing the kids to a parent known to be neglectful seems sort of like handing keys to a drunk driver and hoping they get home without injurying anyone - only the car ride lasts 18 years.

This is my theory. Jayden's mother entered into a new relationship; maybe even gave birth to the new partner's child. Jayden was not wanted by the new partner of his mother. Jayden is no longer alive. [Not the end of the story. My opinion only.]
Jayden was brought up by his great grandma from a baby. He was returned to bio mother after grandma die in May. <modsnip: No approved link to support>

I missed the updates last night because real life. I have pages to catch up on. I am glad Jayden was located and can be laid to rest with dignity by the folks who loved him. Mom is in custody and justice can now be sought for young J.

We all knew this would be the end. She never wanted him. He never should have been returned to her. None if this needed to happen, if those charged with ensuring his safety and wellbeing had done their jobs. MOO

now I am off to backread and catch up.

FWIW, under Title X, in Kentucky, birth-control (not abortion) is available to low-income individuals and families.

While the health department does not have to offer every form of contraception, a variety of the most effective contraceptive methods, including, but not limited to IUD, hormonalimplant, Depo-Provera, oral contraceptives, hormonal patch and contraceptive vaginal ring should be available either on site, or must be able to provide a prescription to the client for their method of choice or by referral to another provider, as requested. Clients at or below 100% of the federal poverty level must not be required to pay for acontraceptive method and should receive the desired method without a cost to the client. Condoms should be made available to all clients as a method of contraception and/or STI prevention.

As an aside as it probably doesn't impact this particular case, imo, but Title X programs are currently facing federal budget cuts, including in Kentucky. I don't want to derail the thread into that discussion, but google "Title X defunding 2025" and you'll get info, should you desire to know. This particular perp apparenlty didn't take advantage of what was available anyway.

Questions I am now waiting for answers to:

When exactly did Jayden die? How long before the false missing child report was made?

How did Jayden die? I know what the rumor mill is saying about COD but I haven't seen that in print so for me that is still a question.

Will there be any more arrests? I suspect this woman had help, even if only after the fact.

Will the mother's charges be upgraded? I believe the charges reflect what she has thus far admitted to, but autopsy will confirm or refute her story. Most murderers when they confess, do so in a way that minimizes their involvement as much as possible.

My questions exactly. I want to know WHEN it happened and HOW it happened. Those details do matter, though they don't change the outcome that we know happened, of course.

We are learning more about the death of 10-year-old Jayden Spicer and the charges his mother is facing.

Felicia Gross' arrest citation says she told KSP she gave Jayden sleep medication, and it caused him to have a medical emergency.

The citation says she told police where she had taken his body, and police found his remains buried in a plastic tote.

It also says she coached two of Jayden's siblings about what to say regarding his disappearance.

Gross is charged with manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, tampering with a witness, and falsely reporting an incident.

If it was an accidental OD, then why not ring 911 soon as they discovered him. I don't think this is the true story somehow. Moo

ITA. ^^^^

And, am not at all 'ok' with CPS' handling of this case.
I do think there were red flags with both Felicia and her husband !
Imo.

She states that she "believes that Jayden passed away from this medical emergency".
So, does she not know for sure that he was dead before sticking him in a tote and hauling him to the cemetery to bury him?
The AA makes it sound like she wasn't sure if he was already gone, or if he did, indeed, die from the "medication" that she gave him.
I may have to sit on my hands until the autopsy/tox results come back.
IMO.

A copy of the arrest citation for Felicia Spicer Gross, who is charged with the death of her son, Jayden Spicer. Her bond has been set at one million dollars cash.

Previous mugshots of Felicia Spicer, AKA Felicia Gross.
Previous charges of Child Endangerment & Wanton Endangerment.
So she had three previous arrests for child endangerment and wanton endangerment, had six children, half of whom did not live with her, and was still the choice of child services to be the one to have physical custody of Jayden.

Then her own story is berserk. Sleep meds, he had a “medical emergency,” and rather than call 911, she opts to let him die then drives him 19 miles away and tosses his body.

And as extra evil, she endeavors to get her other kids to participate in her cover story.

The blame is fully on her and any other adult who knew and/or was involved in this, but IMO child services should have put him in a group home or anyplace else that was not with a mother who never raised him and already was a proven negligent parent.

Nothing else to say except I hope he is somewhere reunited with his great-grandma and knows love again.
