Jayden Spicer, 10, August 6, 2025 *mother arrested*

I'm so peeved right now. Are we suppose to believe that Jayden's mother dug the shallow grave by herself?

Mother arrested, charged with 2nd degree murder
I’m seeing second degree manslaughter (atleast for now)

edited to add emphasis

It's not hard to dig a shallow grave. What makes you think she couldn't do it?

(sigh)

I really wish I knew.

Too many rules in place, the child care system is broken, Social Workers are overwhelmed.

JMVHO.

Too much emphasis on parental rights and not enough on keeping the children safe.

What is supposed to make that unlikely or unreasonable?

Edit: Guess it’s Manslaughter 2 right now. Whew.

Curious on the specifics which led to 2nd vs 1st degree murder. My guess is they hope she pleas out. Will get min 25 years but could be paroled after that.

I get that child abuse cases lean towards 2nd degree, but very early circumstantial evidence has potential of premeditation. Maybe they will upgrade, we shall see.

She might could do it alone, but how did she explain leaving the house with a body and something to bury the body with to her husband and kids?
She had help, even if it was after the fact.
IMO.

Its not even murder she's been charged with at this stage, Manslaughter 2

Totally agree with this.

What lol. Obvious disclaimer that we should let all the evidence come out…but wow.

Aligns with her apparent confession that she gave him to many sleeping pills and he overdosed. The outcome of the autopsy may see a change in the charge.
Autopsy will also show how long this poor child has been deceased, as well as any injuries.
I believe those charges will be elevated.
And I sure hope they can expedite the toxicology. It's taking months to get results all over the country.
IMO.

So far she’s charged with Manslaughter & Abuse of a Corpse, Destroying Evidence & Filing a False Report. No mention of Child Abuse. I’m guessing things will change after the autopsy.

Strange there’s been no mention of others in the home being involved. I’ll be very surprised if she did all this on her own.

R I P Jayden I’m so sorry.

Makes sense then. Irrespective of autopsy findings, I can see that being upgraded to Man 1.

But maybe with those other charges it doesn’t matter presuming time isn’t concurrent.

Never mind how she deceived her own neighbor whom she had call in order to report Jayden missing, since you know, she didn't have a phone

My opinion only- she may have done so in order to have an uninvolved third party as a witness to her frantic/panicked state in order to corroborate the runaway story

We really need a love/mad combo emoji around here!!

Exactly. They just today found the body - they charged what they could given what they know right now. They have to determine exactly what happened, investigate what she told them for truth, do an autopsy, etc.

Right now, they charged manslaughter. That could change....or not. Depends on what they find out.

I am SO THANKFUL this did not linger longer. And, tbh, I'm grateful this wasn't a circus with all parties involved arguing on youtube channels, etc.

Finally, I apprecited the AG saying that people across the world care about Jayden and that he is in good hands now. That was a firm way to acknowledge public interest but also say, "we got this."

Rest in peace, little man.

Exactly, they have to do an autopsy to find cause of death etc fir proper charges

I’m blanking on this-were there any other kids in the household with the mother and bf/husband besides sweet Jayden?

Truly, sometimes it’s really hard to choose with so many different emotions involved, right??

Boy was thrown to the wolf.

Yes he was, and by his own feral wolf mother.

At this point we don’t know if she was a lone wolf or part of a feral pack.

We will find out, but nothing will bring this little boy back.

Clearly he wasn’t raised by either of his own parents, who couldn’t or wouldn’t care for him.

But so many alternatives exist which would have given Jayden a better life than what he endured with his bio mom. His elderly great-grandma couldn’t last forever.

Bad parents are often just bad people who’ve had sex. No natural maternal or paternal love.

Somewhere out there are people who would’ve been ecstatic to have adopted him when he was a baby.
