Moo..it is not that easy. You can safely drop a babe...
... at a firehall, I hope you mean.
up to a certain age. After that age, it really isn't as simple as ... please take child....moo
I'm sure it's not that simple, no, but I do know somebody who got her kids into foster care when she couldn't continue. And I know somebody else who put in a complaint to CPS about her grandchild (a baby) which resulted in the baby being removed from the daughter until she discontinued contact with her bf. The baby must be about 4 yo by now and she is back with her mother. Neither of these cases were in the US.

It’s on now on the local channel.

Mother charged with multiple crimes.

ETA: Well, that only lasted a few minutes, barely anyone there and from what I saw no questions were asked.

Mom charged with abuse of corpse among other charges.

I want to retch.

It’s not easy to be a grandparent or especially a great-grandparent and have to raise a child again, but I’m relieved and thankful to know he was loved for most of his ten short years.

Multiple charges. 2nd degree  murder manslaughter, abuse of a corpse, falsifying a police report

DA says they're devastated by this. She acknowledged people all over the world who "love this baby" and, thanks to the efforts of LE, "Jayden is now in good hands and we'll take good care of him."

Presser over

‘Looks like’ one of the aunts who probably would have cared for him, ugh. Hindsight.

It was so empty in that room :(
Before the presser started, WKYT's reporter said that he was found in a shallow grave.
Felicia didn't do this alone, there's no way.
IMO.

Sadly this is exactly how we all knew this was going to end. I'm sad, angry, and so tired of cases like this. We have to do a better job of protecting children.

Thanks for that link, @Arkay !
Was writing some things down, and I know I missed a few charges :
  • 2nd degree murder
  • tampering with a corpse
  • making a false report (she lied to LE and that's not going to go well for her, on top of the other charges !)

Never mind how she deceived her own neighbor whom she had call in order to report Jayden missing, since you know, she didn't have a phone (?).
I'm sure they're reeling as well, after being used like that.
Omo.

Too little too late.

We don't yet know what happened but i hope that precious little boy felt loved by his great grandma.

His own mother. I just can't with this.

Of course, dear @Chimera.

I have to say I have never seen such a barren press conference as this one. Surely there is more media than these two or three people in Central Kentucky!

We officially have learned what became obvious regarding the mother’s involvement, but IMO there has to be more incrimination than just her.

Poor baby, disposed of like trash, 19 miles away from home. Or actually, “home.”

I hope there's a FULL investigation into that. Boy was thrown to the wolf.

JMO
Yes, he was totally thrown to the wolf.

I do want to say that law enforcement, search crews, volunteers and even those who helped to keep his name out there did a fantastic job. My heart goes out to them as well since right along with us we had hoped for a happier ending.

Thinking about that shallow grave .... so much ugh and horror.
Jayden looked thin in the final (?) photo and not happy. 😭

I wanted to say I'm also feeling for the people who had to recover his frail remains.

Was it DCFS who thought placing him with a 'mom'(& I use that term lightly, maybe egg donor would be more appropriate ?) -- whom he hadn't seen since he was a baby -- was the best option ?
If Jayden had any issues, that loss of his great grandma and put in a virtual strangers' home was beyond traumatic for him.
Was he expected to 'obey' and 'follow the rules' ?

I'm a bit struck by some similarities between this case and Sebastian Rogers.
Different household situations and poor Sebastian is still missing.
Both vulnerable kids and stories from parents that raised more questions than answers.
Imo.
