JBR, PR and UMI

Sorry, it was not NE, it was the Globe and if I did this right, you can see the photo here: It starts at 1:23.
Sorry, I don't know how to post the video where it just shows up here.

Oh gosh, Beck, I just got through watching that very video minutes ago. It's so disturbing!

So far I've determined that the dress was chiffon (no color yet), and the tiara was the Little Miss Christmas one.

I haven't come across a description of the Twinn doll's clothing yet.

Yes, just as I thought- that is from the movie PMPT. It is not an actual photo of JB. If you google the movie or the actress, you can see that it is the little girl who played JB in PMPT. Thank you for the link.

This is the dress that JBR was buried in:

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-ampxrNgpo&feature=related[/ame]

But how do we know for sure that the My Twinn doll was wearing a pageant dress and a tiara? I am not putting it past Patsy but we have never seen a picture of this doll and do we even have a legitimate source for that information? This case was sensationalized a lot and it could just be a rumor that a regular fancy looking dress on a doll was a pageant dress. What makes JBR's dress in that video a "pageant dress" and not just a dress that you would wear for special occasions?

(The video says that's green but I believe that's just the tint)

Eileein, it certainly was a beautiful dress. I have not seen the movie PMPT, so I couldn't have recognized the scene. Thanks, DeeDee. This little girl looked a lot like JonBenet! Now, I have to see the movie.
One other little thing I've always wondered about. The scarf that John just had to put in the coffin. I would have expected it to be around her neck, but from what I've read, he sort of wrapped it around her, like a blanket. I would love to know the color of that scarf. Has anyone here ever heard what the color was?

So sad. As she turns, you can see the darker hair color underneath the dyed blonde curls.

To me, it's a pageant dress. What sort of occasion would a little girl wear a dress like this? It just seems too fancy (for lack of a better word).

I'm confused here....That is JonBenet in the video. She wore the dress in a pageant about a month before she died. It's not from PMPT.

Edited: Wait nevermind, I read your message wrong.

Maybe a wedding?

I'm surprised that Patsy let that happen. Wonder if this was a pageant that Nedra supervised? Patsy seemed fond of the "big" hair that we know could not have been JonBenet's natural hair and I have to wonder if they actually did her hair that way for burial? Surely not. Who would want to remember their daughter looking totally fake? PR, for sure.

This dress appears to be chiffon. It also seems to resemble the dress as depicted at 1:23 in the video. However, it's not really what I'd call a pageant dress.

The picture Hawkeye posted is definitely a pageant dress...sparkle, glitter, flash. Hawkeye, can you share how you determined that was the dress she was buried in?

Well, I guess I could understand it being worn to a wedding if she were a participant in the wedding. It may just be my taste, cause I feel like it's just too much for anything but a pageant.

Patsy said that she bought the dress that JBR was buried in from another pageant mom. A few months ago, that mother was on 60 minutes in Australia and showed a video of her daughter wearing the dress that JBR was buried in. It's the same dress from the video.

The mom starts talking about the dress at 0:36 and the video is shown at 0:48:

They said they spent Thanksgiving together and JBR was in a pageant in Georgia during Thanksgiving weekend '96.

The movie is pretty true to the PMPT book. The Rs saw Schiller as fairly pro-R, though I felt he was neutral. They allowed him considerable access to the home, and he recreated the sets of the interior for his movie exactly, right down to the wallpaper. I think he may have even been allowed to film inside the house, though this has not been claimed. The exterior shots are of the actual house. A mannequin was made of the child actress to portray JB's corpse, as the director thought it too disturbing to have her pose as the dead body of JB with the cord around her neck, on the autopsy table, etc. The mannequin also portrays JB as she was in full rigor, stiff as a board. I think the movie is worth watching, especially for people who have not read the book.
It may be the mannequin in the coffin, too, as it does look like the mannequin of the actress and not actually her in person.
Actress Marg Helgenberger plays Patsy. Ann-Margaret plays Nedra. John Hurt plays JR.

Patsy gave scarves to some men that year as gifts, including JR. There was a scarf found in the basement laundry area. I don't know if that was JR's scarf, or if it was the same one placed in he coffin. But one thing I DO know is that many of us speculate that JB was first strangulated with something soft, like a scarf, that wouldn't have made a deep mark, and that is why a strangulation was staged with a cord. There are autopsy photos on Ruthee's site depicting a woman who was strangled with a scarf, next to JB's photo showing the front of her neck with the large triangular red mark. Both victims have the identical red triangular mark.

I think this is the most beautiful photo of JonBenet that I personally have ever seen. Is it because her eyes are green, her natural color? They look green to me in this pic. Never have understood why Patsy wanted her to have blue eyes. Those beautiful green eyes were one of the things that made JonBenet soooo beautiful!

I agree, mtm, this is not a pageant dress. This photo really looks like she could have been a flower girl in a wedding. If they had chosen this beautiful, virginal white dress to bury her in, I could have understood.

I think all of her Randall Simmons photoshoot pictures were very beautiful. I like them a lot better than her Judith Phillips photoshoot that she did with Nedra, Burke, and Patsy. The RS photoshoot was taken in June '96 and the JP photoshoot was taken in November '96. I think JBR looks kind of cold in the JP photoshoot. There's one photo of her where she just had this really nasty look on her face; It bothered me since I don't know why she would have that as her facial expression.

Thanks, DeeDee. Now I'm really having a hard time with this scarf being buried with her. That's twice today that I've heard things that really make me believe they need to exhume JonBenet. If not to re-do the autopsy, just to do some forensic work on the objects buried with her. What better way to make sure certain objects were never tested? Send them with their daughter.

I agree, this is a much more appropriate dress.

Hawkeye, thank you for the video and the explanation. It's disturbing and sad to see that little girl in the dress, knowing its ultimate destination.

One thing about that video: The mother is saying that if a person looks at a little girl in a bathing suit in a sexual way, it's the person's fault...BUT LOOK AT THE WAY THEY'VE GOT THOSE GIRLS DRESSED! They are not dressed like little girls...THEY ARE DRESSED LIKE VEGAS SHOW GIRLS!!! They don't LOOK like little girls, they look like grown women! Say what you will, dressing a little girl like this is asking for trouble! This is inviting the attentions of people with confused sexual boundaries. And the little girls don't really have a say in it, nor do they understand. Shame on these mommas! These pageants are way out of control on a lot of levels, and the potential for damage to the children is way off the scale.

Wow. Does this mean that Judith Phillips is the photographer that did the photo of JonBenet and Burke back to back? The one photo that I cannot understand and have never been able to figure out what the photog. said to them to get those looks on their faces? We discussed this one in an earlier thread. The photo just gives me the willies and I don't like it at all.
It doesn't look like and brother and sister photo, more like a photo of two lovers. I don't mean to sound ugly with that comment, it's just the feeling I get from the photo and why I find it so distasteful.

You are right mtm and I found that woman's comment offensive. I am a normal woman and when I see these children dressed this way, I don't think of sex, I think of trash. They are not tasteful whatsoever and the really sad thing is, they are not necessary! If you have to make excuses to the world about why the world is wrong, the world probably isn't wrong.

Sorry that they are big!

(The picture that I was talking about in my previous post about JBR having a nasty look on her face is extremely rare and I've only seen it on one site which is currently down. When it goes back up, I'll post a link).

And these are two pictures from her Randall Simmons shoot:

JBR just seems so much older and kind of distant and cold in the JP shoot than she does in the RS shoot.
