Going back a bit to answer Hawkeye's question: We don't KNOW that the My Twinn was dressed in a pageant dress and tiara...I'm wondering if it was and if it was the same dress JBR wound up being buried in. It goes to this underlying, recurring theme of the mother wanting the daughter to dress like her and the mother commissioning a doll to look like the daughter. A doll can be made to be "perfect," or so a mother would hope. And the perfect doll is an extension of the "perfect" daughter, and thus, by extension, the mother is "perfect" also.
But then when the daughter sees the doll as less than "perfect," the mother is sorely disappointed. Is the doll so perfect in the eyes of the mother that she recreates the doll in the person of her dead child?
All this goes to psychological profiling, not motive per se. But motives are oftentimes made up of bits and pieces of psychological profiles which come crashing together to form one major, irreversible, disaster.
