Picerno stated that in the news conference as part of the information the FBI present to them.

Why in the world would the FBI present anything to Picerno? The only time I have known of them to share is when they have a case against their client and the information can also be found by the attorney representing the client.

I have been asking about this forever. When did it change to three phones not working..

DB says ONE was broken. When and who changed this statement to two or no phones were working.?

I took that to mean that one was actually "broken," (not functional) while the others were functional but had no service. That's just the slipshod way our modern vernacular works. People used to worry about speaking accurately (check the witness depositions from lower-class Whitechapel residents in the Ripper case), but that concept has been replaced with "well, everyone knows what I mean."

I work in IT, and I'm always having people tell me "my computer's broke," when what they really mean is that their software application isn't working as it ought.

They are working on their clients defense, not at finding Lisa. jmo

I don't think they were hired to find Lisa; that's not what defense lawyers are paid to do.

For my part, I can't say that I blame the parents for getting lawyers. I think I can envision the scenario in the early going, where LE was looking to get a quick resolution to the case by telling DB she had "failed" a lie detector test and all but accusing her of murder. I guess that's standard operating procedure, particularly when in such a large number of these cases a parent is to blame, and given the fact that a grief-stricken, guilt-ridden and morally terrorized woman who has killed her child will confess nine times out of ten when confronted with questions she's not prepared to answer. But if their calculations are wrong, it's going to scare their subjects into reclusiveness, which I think it has in this case. You can live by the paradigm, and you can die by it as well.

Yep, just ask Breann Rodriguez's parents. They were told they failed and yet had absolutely nothing to do with their daughter's disappearance.

LDTs are just a tool for LE. A person would have to be a real sucker to take one IMO. Especially when they're in a highly emotional state such as when your baby has just been abducted.

So, is everyone assuming that DB meant one was broken and two were not functioning? She clearly said "One wasn't working". Why didn't she say, "NONE of them worked?"

I heard JI say his service was discontinued, but how did we make the leap that it involved two phones? Maybe it was only one of the three phones.

What is the story on DB's father's phone....that she borrowed?:waitasec:

....and what happened to the parents? I am guessing nothing. Did LE lock them up? Did LE stop looking for the real perp? I don't agree that a person would be a sucker. If it helps LE and it's one of their tools, then it would behoove the parent to take the test.

I don't see any reason other than a sick pedophile or a deranged individual stealing a ten month old baby. All these scenarios of a stranger taking Lisa is slim, very slim. As far as Jersey...do we have info on him being a pedophile or deranged psychopath?

I don't understand the call...yet. The call took place at about the time the male neighbor was visiting on the cement stoop. Is there any possibility that they didn't sit on that stoop for 4 hours and actually entered the home to do their drinking?

There's no doubt it's a useful tool. And it definitely behoves the parent to take the test, because if he doesn't take it he's going to appear just as suspect as if he took it and failed.

I guess a person is pretty much damned if they do and damned if they don't in cases like this.

If a person does take the test then they need to realize the game LE is going to play. They definitely don't want to tell the public that LE told them they failed. The public isn't privy to the little game and will jump to conclusions.

When the subject is an emotional wreck, like parents of missing children are likely to be, they may as well hook them up to an XBox IMO. It would provide just as meaningful results.

All JMO.

As far as the polys, I think JI did take one. There's no way LE would administer a poly to everyone else except the father of the missing child. If they did, then I support turning this case over to a more capable police department.

If I'm not mistaken, it was reported that there was surveillance video of JI at work that night. Maybe the eye witnesses that he worked with...not sure, but his alibi was tight.

However, even with an alibi, he could have set the kidnapping up and would therefore have knowledge. I agree, he should have taken one regardless.

If Lisa was stolen, why her? Why Lisa? Why not any other babies in the neighborhood? There were two women and a man (for awhile) hanging out with a full house of children. This wouldn't make a great target home really to enter and take a kid. I just don't see it. JMO

Same with Victoria Staffords mom ~ she failed too and was totally innocent.

Yes true for both. However their children were both outside and were abducted. DB has Lisa sleeping in a crib while she's also in the house. Hink. JMO

I think they all went inside at 11:30 the call was placed at 11:57 so almost a half hour later

I think the drinkers entered the home that night. That is why some of the windows were open. moo

I don't understand MW allowing Dane (or anyone else) to use up her time on a pre-paid WalMart phone. I just don't get that. If I had limited resources and used such I'd use it sparingly myself and I certainly wouldn't let just anyone latch on to it.

I think we can all sit here and say "I wouldn't let someone I didn't know well use up all my minutes", but that's clearly what she did. I don't think there's any disagreement - even coming from Dane - that he was using MW's phone that evening and he had the phone when the call was supposed to have come in.
