Thank you so much for your kind words! She was greatly loved by everyone who knew her and she was a wonderful advocate for justice!!! I do have to tell a funny story about her! Her leukemia was caused by chemo to treat a previous cancer (synovial cell sarcoma). As a result she lost her left leg right above the knee and had a prosthetic. It NEVER slowed her down in the least! She was trying a case one day and her prosthetic leg fell off! They never let her live that down in her office and told her she would do ANYTHING to win a case! LOL!!! She was one special lady and gave me a precious grandaughter! Miss her more than I can say!

A tribute to Leslea:

My heartfelt condolences. I read her tribute and she was a wonderful woman.

IMO~~

This is not a guilt/not trial. She has already admitted to the murder. This trial is to decide the degree of the murder charge. Jodi is trying to not get the death penalty. I'm 100% against the death penalty in any case. However, I don't think she should be given less than 30-40 years.

If I understand our lawyers correctly..it is either the DP, LWOP or she walks free because it is self-defense.

After watching all of Jodi's interrogations, so much closer in time to the murder, I don't think Juan will scare Jodi at all, and I doubt he expects to do that. He won't let her ramble- that's a given, and maybe that will throw her ever so slightly off her game, but not much, since she'll be expecting his style.

I bet he prepared years ago for how he would cross her if he had the chance, and that if he didn't already know how (and I bet he already knew), he consulted with pysch experts as to how to go toe to toe with a pathological liar on the stand.

IMO, he won't be able to get her to eat her words on anything- she can lie faster than she can think. What he will be able to do is reinforce for the jury that she is a liar, and to throw fact after fact after fact in her face.

As of now, I also think he will not revisit very much of the past 3 days of testimony. He's too smart to get lost in the weeds of refuting each of the mountain of this defendant's fabrications. Seizing on her pattern of snooping into her boyfriends' correspondence and confronting the involved girls would do.

One exception- her very bizarre tale about the drunk lady Jodi found terribly amusing until the lady pressed her cleavage against Travis. Sent into a tailspin of hiding in a bathroom stall for 1/2 hour weeping? Wow.

I can't wait to hear her answer to Juan. She has had a lot of help and practice in her answers to Nurmi and I'm sure advice during breaks . She won't know what he is going to ask her and I don't believe he will allow her to ramble on and on attempting to impress with her stories. The stories will be over and I will be on the edge of my seat.

She's quick with her lies but he's quicker with his cross style. In fact I might make up a new dance and call it Juan's Crossstyle and practice it during his cross so I can double duty and get a workout at the same time. Wearing my Juanette jacket for a good sweat. Don't worry I won't do it in court. :great:

My response to someone got lost in the move. IMO, Jodi could have any of these, combinations of these, or all of these. Few psych patients have only one diagnosis.

Antisocial personality
Borderline personality
Histrionic personality
Narcissistic personality
Dependent personality
Passive aggressive personality

Spot on, Pensfan. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is my hunch.

Help!

Am I to understand the *nice* letter is no where to be found but the erect penis shots were saved?

My guess / hope is that she will be "spun around" one last time.

As I understand it, psychopathy largely describes the innerworkings of a psychopath while antisocial descriptions focus heavily on behaviour. There are many successful psychopaths who engage in antisocial activity and never get caught. I view the disorders as part of a continuum of psychopathy.

What I have read agrees with your position that antisocials are not very often psychopaths, but that psychopaths are invariably antisocial. A relatively small percentage of psychopaths are in prison compared to antisocials, but that minority commits most of the heinous crimes.

To me, the most in depth description of the innerworkings of psychopaths still remains Hervey Cleckley's seminal work, The Mask of Sanity. The case studies give you a real feeling for the inner corruption and alternate reality that psychopaths live in, and the insidious gross depravity of their way of being. And all the while, on the surface, they may be living eminently successful lives, though there are less organised ones as well.

This is fascinating, elementary. In reading wikipedia, I found out that Cleckley's heirs have made his last edition public domain, and I found it here for anyone else who may be interested: http://www.cassiopaea.org/cass/sanity_1.PdF

Which reminds me, if anyone knows of a good screen reader, I would love a reference.

IMO, oh she most certainly has a Cluster B Personality Disorder; namely BPD with comorbidity/overlap. This is not an Axis I spectrum disorder which could render her unfit to testify.

The only other thing that I "suspect" could also be going on is Dissociative Disorder, but that is unlikely. That's where a person takes on multipel personalities or blocks out things that happen. I doubt she has that.

Maybe I'm getting cranky in my old age, but I've reached a point where I am exceedingly indifferent to what labels and words get plastered on the likes of this defendant. A rose is a rose by any other name, and as is a human being capable of planning ahead then viciously slaughtering another human being with no pity and no remorse, and who years later delights in causing pain to her victims' family and friends. Evil, BPD, sociopath, psychopath.... whatever. The only relevant word I'm waiting to hear is GUILTY.

I'm not so sure. She's stumbled already quite a few times with Nurmi on pre-rehearsed scripted Q&A. I watched and at first was impressed at her poise but the slip-ups were decidedly there - she lost track easily sometimes, and that was with her own atty who coached her on answers she had help with. I think Juan will find a loophole to trip her up in and derail her.

AND I found it quite bizarre that sometimes she got lost in her own testimony and contradicted what Nurmi was expecting! Did anyone else catch that? It's like at times, when she gets lost in her own fantasy world she completely forgets she's on trial for murder and starts losing herself in her euphoria of her egocentrical storytelling. She'll furrow a brow and say something like "well no, I didn't exactly say that" or "he didn't really do that at first" and you can instantly tell that was NOT part of the script and NOT what Nurmi was expecting. It's almost as if parts of the truth started seeping out as she lost herself in her own rabit hole. NOT what defense wants to have happen.

I know some posters feel Jodi had sex with TA shortly before those pictures were taken but let's not forget she spent the night with an ex who is still single and I'm willing to bet they had sex and not the kind that would chance her getting pregnant. So to me the pictures prove nothing.

We can see she was sitting on the chair in the bedroom with him on the bed when she took the pictures. Could it be she arrived at the house, TA went upstairs to lie down, fell asleep and she just came upstairs then sat in the chair until he woke up. I do not see TA having any type of sex on that duvet, much less anal. His home was spotless and for a man that tells me he took pride in it. And I do not see he or any man ever having vaginal sex with her risking pregnancy unless they had some type of protection. jmo

Yes. I thought I noticed that too...I'm wondering if her reference to the "nice letter" was not a mistake as well. I could swear it was the DA that asked to approach the bench right after she said that. Others say it was JM but, rewatching, I think it was Nurmi.

Or, in my case, "D" is for "dorky". :floorlaugh: He knows I love him.

In both pictures of him on the bed, there is a very large bottle of KY jelly on the bed as well...

Just sayin'
