I'm not so sure. She's stumbled already quite a few times with Nurmi on pre-rehearsed scripted Q&A. I watched and at first was impressed at her poise but the slip-ups were decidedly there - she lost track easily sometimes, and that we with her own atty who coached her on answers she had help with. I think Jaun will find a loophole to trip her up in and detail her.

AND I found it quite bizarre that sometimes she got lost in her own testimony and contradicted what Nurmi was expecting! Did anyone else catch that? It's like at times, when she gets lost in her own fantasy world she completely forgets she's on trial for murder and starts losing herself in her euphoria of her egocentrical storytelling. She'll furrow a brow and say something like "well no, I didn't exactly say that" or "he didn't really do that at first" and you can instantly tell that was NOT part of the script and NOT what Nurmi was expecting. It's almost as if parts of the truth started seeping out as she lost herself in her own rabit hole. NOT what defense wants to have happen.

I noticed that too, Stolat. But I have considered that even those 'slip ups' are intentional, so her answers look less like a recitation.

There is just nothing about her that seems genuine to me, except her perceived hurts over meaningless BS. That I think is a real emotion, probably the only thing that affects her in a way resembling a normal person.

I thought they said court was dark Thursday. Judge had something to do.

Next thing I want to hear is about what happened with the murder.

Wednesday court ended with a letter entered into evidence. Didn't JA falsify some letters or cards after the murder? Or is that another case I'm thinking about?

Court was closed to the public yesterday. As far as I know no details of what went on have been released.

Welcome to Websleuths, btw.

One thing that I'm certain we won't see during cross-exam is yarn spinning and/or weaving with intricate detail. JM will not allow Jodi to ramble on relentlessly: He will want her answers to be short, concise, and more than likely of the "yes" or "no" variety. :moo:

Yes. I thought I noticed that too...I'm wondering if her reference to the "nice letter" was not a mistake as well. I could swear it was the DA that asked to approach the bench right after she said that. Others say it was JM but, rewatching, I think it was Nurmi.

The last few minutes of the trial they other day is perplexing. I seem to think it was Nurmi as well. Was he suprised that Jodi brought up a *nice* letter he had no knowledge of?

Not sure I if I agree, though its interesting to see another take on the behavior I've also noticed. My sense is that she rambles sometimes on purpose-to make her testimony look less rehearsed, more like an innocent who is doing her very best but sometimes makes mistakes and must be forgiven. That, and many times when she is "rambling' she is also quite deftly and very purposely slipping in some of her worst and most vicious lies about Travis.

Ex.. about the night she spent at Sky's and Travis coming into the bedroom and allegedly giving her oral sex. She looks down, hesitates, says "I don't exactly," etc. etc., rambles, then slips in- "well, he knew what he was doing, that's for sure..' before going on. And on.

Thank God! I am so tired of her rambling on and on and on.

I strongly disagree, respectfully that is. The "evil" that you mention is simply a symptom of their pathology. Evil people may not have an Axis I disorder (which would make them likely to be unfit to testify) but Axis II disorders like a BPD or APD is a mental disorder but they are still fit to testify.
"Evilness" is just a symptom of a mental health disorder; just like having the sniffles is likely a symptom of a cold or allergies.

Or like "love" is just a symptom of our brain chemistry? :)

I don't see evil and pathology as mutually exclusive, or that evil can simply be reduced to pathology. For argument's sake, for all we know, then pathology could simply be a manifestation of evil.

Evil cannot be quantified and reduced to simple behaviour or defect, because it is an experience . Pathology and evil IMO, are simply different planes of understanding, and one is no less valid than the other.

I agree with you both! But, one example of her intentional 'slip up' to me that was glaring was the "team freedom" vs "Team Renew". I posted this a thread or two ago, but here it is if you have not seen it.

Possibly Chester, I wouldn't put it past them. But the instances I'm thinking of were where her eyes suddenly flashed in a realization like "oh *****, that wasn't the phrase i was supposed to supply" or on occasion she would briskly finish a rehearsed scripted answer, almost in mid-sentence (like that was where they agreed she would pause) and was already looking up for Nurmi's next scripted question, and <modsnip> wasn't ready yet and it was painfully obvious that she already knew the next line in the script and Nurmi wasn't on the ball- and in that flash moment, Jodi's eyes would get sort of wide in a thinly veiled momentary panic like "come on dude!! Hurry up, I'm sitting here in silence and you missed your queue!!" it's brief- but that quick nervous eye movement is definitely there. So was the slip-up.

On Tru tv they just said the attorneys met yesterday at the courthouse, but the transcript will not be made available until the trial is over.

If Jodi was pregnant, I don't see her doing anything to lose that hold onto Travis before or after his death. If she wasn't found out she's be hanging onto any money she could from Travis" estate or family. Just my take, but I think Jodi would of used a pregnancy as a tool to blackmail Travis into marrying her.

What if she had a miscarriage? I know it's far fetched... there is so much rage in the murder.. I just wonder if there was something more.

My DIL passed away in Nov. 2011 from leukemia. She had just recently graduated from Texas Tech law school and was working as a prosecutor for Tx. Dept of Public Safety in Lubbock. We always "talked trials" together and I miss her so much! She would be eating up Juan right now if she was still with us! I have to believe she is cheering him on from heaven!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I believe she is cheering him on as well.

Thanks for the jacket !!

And what would be her motive for not using that as part of her defense if that were the case?

That would be an ace in the hole sympathy card for the 8 female jurors, IMO. I highly doubt she'd kept that a secret and yet pull out every other stop in the book. Jmo.

We havent got there yet... I know its crazy... Hope I'm not posting and giving someone an idea!!! Eeeeeek!

Jodi rambles and lies A LOT. I think the prosecutor will allow that to happen, but quickly cut her off for verification. If theres a betting pool, I say she'll lose it a time or two. Jodi was getting put out, short and snarky with the defense attorney, and he is on HER side. The prosecutor starts from her perspective of adversary and goes down from there.

Jodi will lose it!
