I dont know if this has been talked about yet... I saw last night people posting about Ester (Esther) - I was watching JVM last week and there was a woman on her show named Ester who lived with Travis in 2005, she was down on her luck and he took her in. She said staying with him a "few days" turned into 30 days. She didnt allude to anything between her and TA, just that they were close and like BFF's - i will see if I can find a face for you guys...

Also - I believe that we will hear of the day today - Ive heard rumors on twitter that JM gets her tomorrow.... :please:

OMG - I heard that interview (might even still have it my DVR) do you remember what day?

I believe that it is a closed hearing...

ETA: The 10am hearing is closed. Trial starts at 11am I believe and is televised

So the trial starts at 11 not 1330 as stated in the schedule?

So the EH is only 1 hour from 10-11, then jodi will be back on the stand at 11? Is that correct?

If the defense claims TA was planning on killing JA how do they explain her taking pics of him in the shower. If one knows someone is planning on killing them, they do not stick around and take pictures...They run like hell. Killing him before he killed her does not make sense to me. Of course that doesn't prevent them from coming up with some far out story. JMO

In my opinion, in their opening statement, the Defense did not deliver the sequence of events in good chronological order. If I can boil it down to major points, they said that Jodi knew that Travis was going to kill her that day and she had no reason to not believe it. She was planning a trip to his home and so she took a trip to Mesa. I'm pretty sure they didn't mean that it occurred in that order, but that is exactly how it was delivered in the Opening Statement. Oops.

ok, I cannot find a link to back myself up, but I SWEAR I SAW HER!!
She had red hair, pink lipstick and a white top with a necklace that looked like coral beads, or something to that effect. JVM interviewed her last week when Jodi took the stand, maybe first or second day...
She said she was in court that day with the family.... UGH!!!

This is going to frustrate me.

Reading the timeline after the 'call' --- I would not be surprised if the spiteful twit called him back and said, 'Thanks - I recorded it all - you are so done now.' Somehow, he became aware the call had been recorded. IMHO.

Okay. Testing 123. Testing 123 this is what should have been ported previously. Sorry guys, learning how to do to talk.

NO ONE is lower than Jose Baez. Remember, Nurmi asked to get off this case. He did not want it at all. He is stuck and yes, he is part of trying to trash Travis. I don't like him for that but he is trying to defend her. Jose knew all along what he was doing and he saw Casey as a cash cow. He is disgusting.

Question - if you know....how can anyone be forced to do a job? Isn't Nurmi a private attorney, how can he be forced to defend Arias? Just curious, as I sit here and think about it I would hate to be in a position where I don't want to do the job, don't believe in the job I'm doing, and be expected to perform that job to the best of my ability.

I agree this could be a possibility, or perhaps the prosecution said they would bring the tape out if she mentioned anything from the tape in her testimony - as soon as she mentions an 'incident' that is on the tape the prosecution has free reign to pull it out. The DT knew they had to play that card first and come up with a story before the prosecution could present it in the rebuttal.

Or, the possibility of her believing the tape was leverage for a plea deal but that was dismissed and they decided they had to play it because their bluff was called. I think we all know Juan isn't going for that.

IMO :)

That does seem to explain all the crying. I'll bet that Nurmi had to explain to Jodi that this could be a potential setback foe her defense (if Juan won the argument over playing the whole tape, not just the worst parts). Those tears looked very real to me- they were the years of a person completely consumed with only themselves and no one else.

Im still at a total loss as to what the defence wanted to prove by playing this?

Josie -
First, my guess is they wanted to only play portions - but lost that battle thus, why fem-fatal was boo hooing before court.

That said, I think there are two reasons:
Attorney's reason: So they can get their 'experts' to discuss some wild theory of abuse.
Jodi's reason: To ATTEMPT to murder what was left of Travis - his reputation and memory. <----------- Epic Fail!!!!

ITA - I was curious to hear the 12 year old girl comment, and to me it was so ridiculous that the defense would try to turn it into something sick. I really think all Travis meant by that comment was that JA sounded innocent and virgin-like when she moaned and it turned him on. I don't think he meant ANYTHING else. You could hear in his voice when she asked him to repeat it that he wasn't really sure he was using the right words - there was hesitation. The defense really blew it by playing that tape, big time.

You could also hear in HER voice when she asked him to repeat the 12 y o girl statement that she raised her voice an octave or two trying to sound just like one. She got all giggly and child-like. She knew what he said, she just wanted to hear it again.

That part creeped me out, more than anything in the tape. (Her voice when she was trying to sound 12) I had a long-distance relationship for a while, I can't imagine anyone else who has thinking that tape was "deviant."

I still love how he says he is NOT a fan of Spider-Man....uhmmmmmm, or any super hero movie except for descala, the hot chick on one of them....

:seeya: Is trial starting @ 12:00 eastern? TIA!

  • #914
Was he upset because this is the call she shared with that other man and then maybe told Travis that she told some other boyfriend about Travis' and the call?? And of course he was horrified

she probably wanted to provoke him and then have wild sex to makeup.

Wasn't her name elissa or something?

Same... And couldn't they have decided not to play it at all?

If that's true - I bet the tears were all about the fight she had with her own DT. That might explain the weird dynamic with Nurmi and JA on the stand afterwards.

Did anybody catch the "TA weighed like 200 lbs then" and of course my favorite "he pawned the BMW off on me" ??

Also, to add more to this, if he had bought her spider-man boys undies, why would she not ask him why, if he doesn't even like him. Her story is gonna sink her.

Everything just went terribly down hill fast May 2008...Do we get to see Texts back and forth between them (I have only seen a couple re printed here)

They seem to be omitting texts and emails for some reason. I don't understand why. But I think emails would be revealing.

Is today the evidentiary hearing or regular trial?

There was a friend named Esther mentioned on Nancy Grace the week she was in Arizona. I'm trying to find it. I didn't see it, but I read about it. I think Katiecoolady met her??
