Just re-read Travis's blog post (May 18, 2008) about what he was looking for in a woman and wife-- just about a week after that call.
He says he wants to find a woman who can see what is best and good in him and want to be with him for that, and that he needs to be that best and good person first in order to attract such a woman.
The defendant read Travis's blog (and everything else he wrote and said, private or not). She had to know he was slipping away from her control. She brought out the worst in him, and she not only knew that, she used it on purpose, constantly, to control him. I believe they did have debasing sex (even the porch and candy scenario, who knows), and that it was the defendant who wrestled Travis down further and further into that filth- her inner world.
Travis sounds insecure- in need of the constant compliments the defendant plies, which is the ONLY emotional manipulation I heard on that tape. One of the tools she used to control him.
The only time she sounds insecure is when she is asking him about his plans for the summer-- you're coming here? right? right? right? And, you're going to DC? Well, I'm going to go with you (her silence) (his silence).. You're going to Argentina? With who? What friends? She hints at wanting to go, Travis does not invite her. Insecurity because she is losing control.
Why did she tape Travis? Do I read right that she texted him the same day and told him she had recorded the conversation?
If he knew she had done that and did for certain confront her within 2 weeks about her hacking into his bank and Facebook accounts, then I am even more convinced that he never invited to her Mesa, or opened the door to her when she arrived.
Sadly, I also think that he had sex with her one last time hoping that would appease HER, that she would go away, he'd change the locks, and she would never ambush him again in his own home, and that he had to have a 6th sense by the time he was in the shower that something very not right was in the air.
