I heard a couple of talking heads on HLN saying that Nurmi was being strategic by going so slow, because then Juan will have to spend even less time crossing her because the jury will be so sick of hearing her on the stand. I DISAGREE. lol

I think the jury will be on the edge of their seats when Juan gets up to bat. Did you see Jodi's soulless eyes when he confronted her yesterday. :eek: They were the size of saucers. I bet the jury woke up quick and probably enjoyed the excitement. Nice change of pace for them.

Jodi had the same look on her face as the little girl in jurasic park when she was eating and she saw the raptor come in

I also went thru a confusing relatioship at ja's age. I cried allot for 7 years...never once thought of killing the man. He had many characteristics that the defence has claimed that TA had. Yet still no thoughts of killing..I jut wanted to escape the feeling i had of no self worth. I finally escaped and made a few more mistakes in relationships before i got it right.

And believe me more happened to me than a wooden kitchen spoon When i was a child.
Praying for justice for T A and lis loved ones

I can empathize with what you say....I too had kind of similar relationships, though there was never any physical or sexual abuse. Therapy and intense self-scrutiny helped and I know now that there will be no more relationships like those. I never wanted to kill them....still don't. Never would have dreamed of it. :cupcake: for you.

I keep having horror visions of JA fake threatening to commit suicide;
TA lunging toward her to prevent her from doing so, hero-like;
JA turning the gun/knife on him;
TA & JA falling to the floor;
TA stumbling to the sink w/ JA saying those stupid lines; What happened? Are you OK?;
TA, thinking it was an accident, coughing up blood and asking JA to go to the neighbors for help;
Then JA starting to assault his back with the knife and as forcefully as she did to his tires months before;
etc.

Ugh!!!

Her lies flow so plentifully, we're now all confused. I think Nurmi is using her lies to confuse and befuddle.

You can bet they will have some insanely implausible "reason" JA had both knife and gun handy in the bathroom. There will be epic howels of indignation from Websleuths as well as tearing of hair and renting of garments.

I think she is going to try and pull a betty broderick. I think she will say she took the gun there because she intended to kill herself because he mistreated her so badly. But he tried to get it from her and she accidentally shot him, and that made her snap.

ETA; Just saw your post Quester. Great minds think alike. :wink:
But I don't believe it happened that way, I just think she will spin it that way.

I said this in my last post - I don't think the upside down plates were done until after AZ, but done out in the desert while burning clothes. JMO

Now, after thinking it through, I realize she was trying to avoid detection in AZ completely, so that's where she'd want the upside down plates. But at first, I was thinking she wouldn't want to be stopped in AZ for upside down plates. :waitasec: Which is it?

Yeah, the upside down plates are quite the condundrum. She is so bizarre I am not sure what crazy part of the plan it was but I am certain she did it.
I do think she did it after crossing state lines. I dont think she would risk it in the state of murder.

As far as why she did it, i suppose i have to go with what someone else thinks which is to purposely get pulled over in a state far away from the murder to be on record as not being close to the house. She seemed to try to fool the LE that there was no way she could be near his house but they realized she had plenty of time to drive there.

Jodi will never kill herself. She likes herself too much. IMO

I just thought I'd announce that I received Toblerone chocolate from my DH for Valentine's Day. Now, I could have gasped and gagged when I saw it but instead I decided to savor each and every bit of each bite, made even more delectable knowing that JA can't have any. :yesss:

And weeping and gnashing of the teeth too I am sure....

I like how you think.

We should probably try and guess how they will explain both murder weapons being so handy. Whatever their excuse, you KNOW it's because Travis is a pervert...

Yay!! It was me that posted that theory ~ it's really the only one I've been able to stick with this entire time bc all of her other stories trick me up!!

I think she went there with TWO missions in mind. First, she HOPED to get back with him. I think she believed she could sex him up and then make him agree to keep seeing her. But she had plan B already in place, just in case.

So she went with plan A, and they had sex. But it didn't end the way she wanted. He probably still told her that he was seeing someone else, and they should stay away from each other for awhile, and move on. And he probably said 'you'd better go before my friends find us here together. ' That probably sealed his fate.

Instead of throwing a tantrum, she probably agreed, put on a sad pouty face, and said she understood. And then she pretended to leave, and he locked the door, imo. Is that where the doggie door comes in? Or she might have unlocked a window or back door before she left.

I believe she doubled back, snuck inside and caught him in the shower. She probably had the gun on him and he was not really sure if she was messing with his head or being for real. She may have even pretended like it was a sex fantasy, to keep him unsure of the situation.

If she were put in solitary, I wonder how long it would take before she started to get on her own nerves?!?!?!?! LOL!!

Yes, thanks. You have a great theory about the plates and I agree with you.

Knowing JA she will probably spurt out something super random and crazy during cross that explains the plates that will make all of us drop our jaws and say, "DAYUM!! She's even crazier than we thought!!" :floorlaugh:

I was reading some of the posts here and got to thinking about the time Jodi has spent on the stand. I asked myself... "What has stood out the most in her testimony?" I drew a blank because nothing she has talked about the past... ? days has really stood out or made an impact.

I was so nervous about the 'sex tape' I was worried that Travis was going to be mean and really abusive and he wasn't... at all. He was actually pretty nice. He told her she was 'photogenic' and 'pretty' and 'amazing' he even went so far as to call her a 'superwoman' So, he did call her some names... but I just dont see it in the negative/abusive way she tries to portrait him. Everyone has heard the phrase: "A man wants a lady in public and a 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 in the bedroom" and Travis in a twisted kind of way was telling her that he had found his '🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 in the bedroom' Sure, he talked about his fantasies (not knowing that he was being recorded) He was a man. Jodi baited him!! Jodi is the deviant, not Travis.

I got to thinking about how she said he would call her and be mean to her. I think she baited him there too! We havent seen the texts she sent to him but I'm willing to bet that she provoked him... because Jodi DEMANDS attention, even if it's negative attention. She knew in her mind that if she were to leave Travis completely alone he would move on and forget her. She couldnt handle it and she wouldnt let him forget her. As far as the sex... she *knew* that she was his first and she used it to her advantage. She was willing to do anything and everything he wanted, no matter how degrading it might be. What a witchy woman Jodi is!

The defense had done a good job of muddying the waters with sex and filth and lies. What I hope the jury remembers and keeps in mind is that this trial is NOT about a dysfunctional sexual relationship. It's about a young man who was brutally murdered not once... not twice.. but THREE times. I have faith that when Juan gets up there... their memories will be jogged and locked in on the real reason they are there.

I agree....but I think she would threaten it. IMO she seems to have a lot of Cluster 2's...Borderline Personality Disorder comes to my mind. Manipulation, threats of hurting herself.....I cannnot prove it but I do believe she would do this for attention or for manipulation.

she didn't flinch but you could see the obvious discomfort that she had being caught in a lie. Nurmi was well aware that she didn't forward it to whoever the guy was (at this point were losing track of all them men she juggled) Jodi/Nurmi purposefully tried to mislead the jury with her testimony that she forwarded the message to travis mistakenly. I think the jury caught on as well.

She has done so very many lies that I would as appreciate a spreadsheet! minor or Mormon attorney, is such ever done?

I believe she set up the scenario a few days back. she said that when she got in a fight with Travis, her backpack was in the bathroom. so when the test money comes, they will say, as usual her backpack was in the bathroom.

I apologize if this video has been posted before but the attorney gives a compelling potential defense for Jodi's lies, that she was trying to "protect him.*" I disagree with his take about the murder, I don't feel that the defense will be able to argue that he kept lunging after her but will have to argue that she "snapped" from the abuse. That said, it's an interesting (although enraging, and very possible) take...

*Although, should they go with the martyr act that Jodi was trying to protect Travis, the defense will have to contend that she had previously threatened him with the ruining of his reputation.
