That is an excellent point. She actually doesn't even need his phone -- she just needs 2 phones. And then she would have to enter her second phone into her first phone's contact list as "Travis." Any text she sent herself from the second phone would say at the top it was coming from Travis. Man, I hope they checked that.

I think it's fairly standard protocol for either side to subpoena the phone company directly for the text records - I highly doubt Juan did not get all texts in question directly from Verizon or AT&T or whatever carrier they both used. However, if she "staged" his texts, the carrier would have official record of the texts havin been exchanged and it would "legitimize" her claim.

It's a long shot but I only question it because Travis's speech on te phone was very very different from the texts Jodi is claiming to be from him. "you'll rejoice in being a whose sole purpose in life is to please me any way I desire"

That sounds nothing like Travis's blunt basic manner of speech on the phone. It DOES however, sound just like the flowery lengthy wordy email Jody shot off to Lisa Andrews. I'm just seriously contemplating whether the texts were staged just like the sex recording. I just wonder if she sent that to herself from his phone as all part of her big clever meticulous plan?

Because I think Jodi got EXTREME pleasure over each and every meticulous step of planning out her revenge. I just see this as something that she was very proud of herself and she obviously poured hours and hours over. The high school dropout getting the best of the corporate big kahuna.

I've wondered if Travis really did have sex with JA before she murdered him. Where is the prove this happened? Could Travis have been taking a shower when JA showed up.

The pictures that were taken before he was murdered show that some kind of sexual activity occurred.

I speculated the same, but thinking it over more I have to admit that I know nothing about the man and I have no reason to believe he's just being greedy or encouraging JA to keep lying more and more. The job he's tasked with here is just awful. To me, being a criminal defense attorney must be a generally awful job. I'm sure it's extremely rewarding when winning a case for someone who truly is innocent of the charges. That's not JA, though.

I have no sympathy for JA, but I feel a little bad about my avatar this morning. Her defense team are not the criminals.

he is a sex crimes defense attorney . I don't feel sympathy for him. he deals with slime regularly.

I'm glad you said this. A defense attorney is supposed to defend his client zealously. He is not the bad guy but it is always hard not to let the negative feelings spill his way. With evil psycho murderers he just has a harder job. And from what I understand once you take on a client it is very hard to quit no matter how much you despise them.
