Back wounds I've always thought were done when he was mortally wounded crawling down the hall or by the sink
Needless to say, I couldn't agree more.Domestic violence is a real, urgent problem in America. Victim’s rights and women’s advocates have struggled for decades to raise consciousness on the issue. And every time someone lies about being a battered woman, that work is undermined. Faking victimhood is shameful, a slap in the face to true victims.
Good stuff, LambChop --
If not yet in shock -- then surely he was stunned as his body tried to deal with his injuries. Somehow he made it to the sink -- early or late in the stream of things -- but by now, Jodi was surely in control. He couldn't have put up much of a fight after, as you say, the deep head wound from the knife and the shot to & through part of his frontal lobe, and possibly by then the fatal wound to his chest. He was losing blood, too. IMO, there's no way he could have actually been a threat to her.
This is when I would have turned & left, if I had been truly only defending myself. As soon as I had him in a position not to come after me or do me harm, I'd have been outta there. And if I did not mean to kill him, but only to defend myself, I would have found a way to call 911. Find a phone booth if I didn't want it traced to my phone -- OTOH, why would I have cared if I had been honestly defending myself against him?? And IMHO, her leaving the scene and the house without notifying EMS should be an offense, too. AZ has a Good Samaritan law -- it's on a list -- but I couldn't really interpret it...
Just thinkin'
BBM - just to clarify, from the ME report, the exact verbiage was:" ... without gross evidence of significant intracranial hemorrhage ... "So to me, it sounds as though there was some blood but perhaps not as much as the ME would have expected.

My ME qualifications: I have performed 2 autopsies ... er dissections ... one on a frog and one on a cow's eye.![]()
I just get a bit more of a feeling we shy away from gunshot first as it muddies up the prosecution. Which I don't agree with. I think they are good to go to the lethal injection room with any sequence they want. My gut feeling. I don't think the Defense is playing well to the Jury.
This is a rage killing, an over kill. I don't see a shred of evidence of self defense.
I think gunshot first makes the state's case even stronger -- except for the fact that it contradicts the ME's testimony.
To bring up the pedophilia accusation again. ThisM morning I googled "pedophilia pamphlets, and guess what? There is one, and it is printed by an organization that's trying to change the "image" of pedophilia. Yes, that's right, it's a pro-pedophilia group.
No one is going to print a pamphlet about treatment or "help" for pedophilia, because there is no treatment. It's a biological drive, not a "choice". No one decides to be a pedophile. There is no group that is going to print a pamphlet "helping" pedophiles, because it can be misinterpreted too easily.
There are almost no options for people who are pedophiles but do not want to act on it. I recently heard an interview with a person who has these drives, but a strong desire not to act on it. He considers suicide an option because there is no treatment. After doing his own research he discovered taking anti-androgens seriously depress the sex drive, and that is how he deals with the biological urge. He was calling in to the show to let others with the pedo urge know that taking these pills may help them from acting out their urges.
He also said his brother was also a pedo., acted on it, and killed himself.
Anyway, all that to say that Jodi has no idea what she is talking about, there are no pamphlets.
Before anyone accuses me of being pro-pedo, I'm not. I heard a radio program about it and am just relating what I heard. Pedo's need to be removed from any society where kids are present. I WISH there were a treatment for it.
Correct. No reference to Abe whatsoever. Please refresh my memoy as to what purpose she was claiming the letter served and what patties she is claiming were involved. I caught the part where Juan was grilling her but missed the part just prior.
Cannibalism is illegal in my state. :tmi:
I am of the opinion that Jodi had been carrying a knife on her (purse, backpack, whatever) for quite some time; at least since the tire slashing incidents.
Do you realize how hard it would be to slash through tires, that would take some strength, IMO.
This gal got used to handling and using a knife for angry, revengeful purposes. No knives were missing from Travis, IIRC. Jodi had it on her for awhile by this point, IMO.
My ME qualifications aren't much better, but you can add a fetal pig, a giant grasshopper, and 2 years of working on death penalty cases.
I didn't watch the ME's testimony, so someone tell me if this was cleared up by him. But my understanding is that the expectation of significant intracranial hemorrhage if the gunshot was first is dependent on the next significant wound not happening for some period of time--maybe a minute--to allow the blood to build up in there. If the gunshot happened first but was followed VERY QUICKLY by a stabbing wound that caused a LOT of blood to rush to the stabbing wound area, I think the intracranial blood would not be very much.
Just want to say that when I stumbled on this post I thought what she tried to eat him? Did that happen when I wasn't paying attention???:what:
I blame my slowness on two hours of sleep over one of my dd and some "tough love"

she had 2 knives and a gun in her clothing when arrested. she had recently purchased a gun. (i thought she was broke) her mother said she had a gun hidden in a rental car and it was retrieved. which rental car was this? i know of only one she rented to go to mesa. was there another car? what was she going to do with these? the gun and knife used in the murder have never been recovered. so is it 2 additional guns she acquired? sorry so many questions. On the tire slashing, that is usually accomplished with a simple puncture to the sidewall. Little strength is required, especially if the blade is sharp. Though puncture to/through the tread portion of a tire can be inexpensively repaired, sidewall damage cannot.
TA had to replace his tires once JA engaged in her "psycho behaviors", as she phrased it on the stand last week, IIRC.
I have a question for the gun enthusiasts. Can you see gun residue on your hands? How do you get it off? Do your hands smell like gunpowder?
