After wading through another 27 pages of speculation about which came first, the gunshot or the knife, I think the only thing that will help is for forum members to pitch in and pool their funds and hire whatever renowned pathologist you believe will give the correct answer. Obviously Dr. Horn is not believed by a significant percentage of folks and I haven't seen that anyone else with medical examiner qualifications has opined here, so to put this all to rest, it's time to commit some money to the cause.

This will also serve as a test of how important and committed forum members are to finding out which came first--put up some $$$ to pay for a Dr. Baden or whoever to do a thorough review of the autopsy, the xrays, the path reports, etc. and render his/her opinion.

What say you WS members? Committed enough to the cause? You'll have to fund this yourselves because the State of AZ already has an expert opinion.

The judge determined it to be moot regarding the death penalty. Meaning, regardless of which came first, (the gun, the stab to the heart or the throat slashing) it was an obviously heinous and violent crime that could be deemed a Death Penalty case. So, in essence, it's unimportant to the penalty phase.

I know a lot of peeps disagree, but I think that's exactly what happened. He got a non-fatal shot to the head from a small caliber weapon that may have nicked the frontal lobe and was like wtf just happened to me and staggered to the mirror to see.

ME's like Henry Lee and whats-his-name from the CA trial have damaged a lot of ppl's thoughts methinks. I have read about other cases where some ME's don't quite get it right (Kathleen Savio first autopsy for instance) I have not seen anything to suggest that Horn is anything like those two and he has no dog in this fight. He stated his medical expert opinion and seemed confident of it. I get questioning everything......I believe in it myself. I just don't see any big mistakes in this case.

Maybe a different perspective, but I live in the middle of nowhere, in the woods....I carry a knife (mostly in case I get stranded roadside, #1 rule of survival gear....)....I also have CC permit...we have grizzlies and cougars everywhere ( and by "cougars" I mean the actual big felines! :floorlaugh

I don't see an issue either and I personally have no problem with Dr. Horn or his autopsy. But obviously enough people do--enough to fill up a significant percentage of 38 threads, so if it's important enough to obsess about, it's important enough to take it to the next level. The only real way to find out what another M.E. would say would be, in fact, to hire an independent pathologist and have them do a review of all the materials. It's not something *I* need since I'm not contesting what the State M.E. said and I don't see how it matters, but it is a way for those who are intent on getting to the bottom of the matter to get a real second opinion. All it takes is $$$$. There are truly talented pathologists out there who can be hired. Time to put some money to the cause.

Not to me. Many serial killers are sociopaths. They do heinous things to victims and dont even have any emotions toward the victim.

She wanted to do this overkill to make a statement of what happens when a sociopath is rebuked. I dont think she was emotional at all. That is why she could do something this heinous and in a few hours be dry humping another guy. It meant nothing to her and she immediately moved on.IMO

If it makes no difference to the outcome of the trial, why bother? One might like a nice and tidy story to explain everything but Jodi has admitted to killing Travis. The evidence shows that he was shot in the head and stabbed 27 times; with a slash across the throat that nearly decapitated him. The judge has ruled it a violent and heinous crime that warrants a death penalty. So, is it really so important to know which actually came first? (Apart from curiousity - and discussion - which I love to participate in). I mean, relative to the trial, will it make a difference?

I think implants only have to be replaced or removed if they're causing problems. I've had mine for over 25 years and no one has ever mentioned anything about maintenance. :what:

Really? My surgeon recommended they be replaced every 10 years, as the skin stretches & they begin to droop. They also could potentially degrade, he said. Probably just the surgeon trying to drum up more business though! Lol!
