Hi, just catching up and finally able to register today (thanks, WS mods!), but my digital camera purchased in 2007 doesn't make a click when a photo is snapped. My newer cameras and phone have the option to turn a sound on or off.

Love this forum, awesome community and way to support Travis' memory.

WELCOME!! :seeya:

Thanks for the info on the camera as well.

Wack-a-doodle...28 year-old woman writing about how she feels that she didn't get the appropriate "credit" for editing a guy's unpublished book:

https://www.facebook.com/Justice4Travis

They should have gone for "insane" instead of "self-defence". She sounds like an f'd up teenager to me.

moo

I agree that an insanity defense would be more plausible than self-defense given the evidence but I personally find JA to be too arrogant to "stoop" to being seen as mentally impaired. Insanity would imply some personal elements of responsibility to her and... she is NEVER in the wrong (in her eyes..). She also arrogantly believes she is much more clever and intelligent than everyone else, and that the cuckoo story she concocted is going to fool the jury.
MOO!

Where is there even an iota of proof that this woman was a "photographer"? Do you own a camera? You can be a "photographer" too! Most of the pics that have come out in trial are either by TA's snap or amateurish at best.

bleh

Kinda like the Art/Artist thingy :floorlaugh: Much like Casey Jodi preferred not to do the hard work to get somewhere in this world. Preferred to ride on the coat tails of others.

I got the medical opinions for free and yes they are experts. They could not conclusively say looking at the photos and ME report which came first. For all their years of experience, they, like us, discussed it at length and stated that the severed jugular and carotid was the fatal injury. In Their Professional Medical Opinion

Who are "they?" Did they view TA's body in person? Did they have access to all the reports, tests, investigator's notes, etc, etc? There isn't a question about which wound was the first fatal one--we already know it was the neck wound. The big debate is if TA was shot before that neck wound or after.

To me it doesn't matter because either way the case is 1st degree murder and eligible for the DP. To me it's a completely moot point simply because it doesn't change the outcome of the case, it doesn't change the charges, it doesn't change the potential sentence criteria, and TA is still dead regardless of which order the wounds occurred.

However, to many it apparently does matter very much--it appears to matter enough to debate it for thousands of posts, though no one can determine the correct answer from the numerous lay opinions expressed and for whatever reason the expert ME opinion (of Dr. Horn) is simply not trusted or believed (by some).

Great post! I agree Jodi would never admit to any form of impairment, even if it helped her case. You stated perfectly my belief that she thinks she is so clever - big mistake on her part, especially when she runs across this prosecutor! :floorlaugh:

No, yes, and dear lord I would assume so. The first two are my limited knowledge of court process. Here (at least in my county) those on trial are transported to and from the county jail to court every day. Once they are sentenced they are then assigned to one of the state prison units. I am pretty positive a skin check/search/strip is done daily...but I cannot say for positives on that one.

Ah ha! Now we know why she's usually so upbeat and chipper! Daily Cavity searches are right up her ummmm alley!

Animals are pure souls of energy and love. Angels in fur suits is how I think of them (even my naughty cat who tests this theory every day). Instead of being here to serve humans, I think of it the other way--my role is to serve my pets and make their lives as happy as possible. I certainly spent 11 yrs doting on my golden retriever and my current pet (said naughty cat) is getting her fair share of queendom as well. Animals are better than people in many, many ways.

So sweet! Mine was young too at the time. He cupped my face in his hands, got real close... And said, "mommy it's not real, it's just a movie".

She would never qualify for an Insanity plea. It's very rare. Evident in the prior planning the commission of the crime and her acts following the crime. She knew exactly what she was doing prior, during and after.

Kinda like the Art/Artist thingy :floorlaugh: Much like Casey Jodi preferred not to do the hard work to get somewhere in this world. Preferred to ride on the coat tails of others.

Casey and Jodi are two of a kind when it comes to their "careers" and "aspirations" . . . both had lofty goals, embellished the jobs they had, wanted to live high without having to earn it themselves and were very willing to live off others!

I chuckled at the various ideas that Jodi said she had - wedding photographer, real estate investor, blah blah blah! I believe she purposely went to work in areas where she thought she could come into contact with people with $$$$$ (Ventana Inn in Big Sur, then on to Palm Desert in the Palm Springs area) - then when she heard about the potential money to be made at PPL, off she went to their convention - I also think she attached herself to Travis and then Ryan as she saw them as rising stars within the organization - these are classicly narcissistic traits.

I don't see an issue either and I personally have no problem with Dr. Horn or his autopsy. But obviously enough people do--enough to fill up a significant percentage of 38 threads, so if it's important enough to obsess about, it's important enough to take it to the next level. The only real way to find out what another M.E. would say would be, in fact, to hire an independent pathologist and have them do a review of all the materials. It's not something *I* need since I'm not contesting what the State M.E. said and I don't see how it matters, but it is a way for those who are intent on getting to the bottom of the matter to get a real second opinion. All it takes is $$$$. There are truly talented pathologists out there who can be hired. Time to put some money to the cause.
Dr Doberson will write a really nice letter. (my guess is he will need a check though MOO)

I also agree with this.

ITA! I love my pets! I have a dog (Dexter), 3 cats (Chunk-a-Monk, Bella, and The Beast), and 2 sulcata tortoises (Jerry and Bobo). :great:
