You put this very eloquently and ITA. I think a lot of people struggle with the thought of actually taking someone's life. My whole career has been about saving lives, however I have no problem with her being put to death. It is not about vengeance. It is about what is right.

I am sorry for your loss. I believe in the DP, just not sure if I could do it. A family member - let the killer fry!!! Needless, to say, I never want to be on a jury for a murder.

Every time I get called for jury duty, it is for a Capitol case. And every time the judge asks if anyone has "issues", I go before the judge and I am excused. I would like to think I could be impartial, but as I look at Travis' family's faces, not so much.

Actually, the tax payers no longer fund PELL grants for prisoners. In 1983, through Senator Biden, my father brought that very thing to Senator Pell. He had no idea that prisoners were receiving these grants and getting a free education. Congress then passed an amendment taking away that right to prisoners. My father felt that there were too many deserving kids who were not in prison that would benefit from these federal education grants.

Sincere thank you to your dad. That's awesome. I believe prisoners should get education, via donation, their own studies or paying for it through various works in the system. Soldiers deserve free education, IMO.

I see no need for her to run anywhere to retrieve a knife. None appeared to be missing from the home so it seems most likely that she brought it with her. If she was the perp in the tire slashing incidents then even more likely she carried her own. Often.

I think Travis' walk in closet would be an ideal place for her to have placed her bag (whether it be backpack or whatever) because it would have been only an arm's reach from where she was when taking the pictures in the shower. There are several cabinets in the bathroom that would allow her things to be in ready reach too.

The courtroom exhibit schematic of the master suite showed a doorway to the walk in closet right at the shower. On the exhibit it is written 'shoe impression' and points to that entryway area of the walk in closet at the bathroom iirc.

Good point Chico-- Why the knives, well she probably carried them around all the time

Her grandpappy's .25 revolver was for insurance IMO

When the appeals run out or they petition to stop the appeals. As far as I know anyway....perhaps one of the lawyers can chime in.

Michael Apelt, who's crimes (first degree felony murder and conspiracy to commit murder in 1988) should be coming up soon. Except his team of highly qualified attorneys are still appealing the fact that he was ruled NOT mentally retarded after a 7 year long appeal. And I'm sure once that appeal is "finalized" (how many times can you rule he's not mentally retarded?) he will return to claiming he didn't even commit the murder. Even though he's already admitted it now, but claimed he was mentally retarded when he did it. Since that appeal wasn't successful, I'm sure they will switch gears to claim something else has been "unfair" to him during these two decades he's been awaiting his sentence to be carried out. This is the insanity of the appeals process.
