But I don't buy it for a minute that Jodi leant Travis money. I think SHE was paying him back for something...and I also don't believe the car had problems when she bought it. Remember this is coming out of Jodi's mouth

anything they can do to make it sound like TA was using and abusing her.....OF COURSE she wasn't loaning him money. just another defense lie.....among oh, so many.

I think I could have been convinced the whole thing was a played out robbery fantasy that went awry ~IF~ it had stopped at the first 'kill'. She killed him several times, chased him down drug him back and killed him some more.

Don't yell. Just devil's advocate here.

I agree. The one check for "car" or auto or whatever it was, I think she was paying him back! For her car!

yes, and all Juan has to do is debunk ONE of the checks as her paying him back and Jodi's side takes a nose dive in credibility.

That's why it's so important not to exaggerate, not to even imply something that the other side can easily debunk, it makes it look like you don't have a case.

I am hoping there will be one or two cut and dry check explanations.

I wonder how many times Travis wrote checks out to JA?

But then he said "Well, let's go back...."

Two steps forward, one step back....for 7 days now. Well, if you can call the total of 4 hours per day they are in trial a 'day'.

If I were on this jury, I would NOT be a happy camper right now. I would also be confused on who to blame the fact that I can have no life....the system, the judge, or the defendant.

This trial schedule does not make me happy but I bet the jurors are not unhappy with it. They have days off to get their own personal affairs done. The businessman can go into the office every Friday for sure and clean up the matters no one else can do. The homemaker can get those chores done and shopping out of the way for the weekend. This long weekend would be like a mini vacation for them. I don't see them unhappy at all. They also had a chance to digest what Jodi has said and if Nurmi starts to backtrack you would probably hear some silent groans from them because they have already "gotten it" either way.

I can see Nurmi doing a "recap" of what he has covered so far. Jurors, liquid lunch.....anyone? jmo

Before I had my nook I would use 2 laptops. One for work and one for Video/WS but then I work from home so no worries about the boss. Of course my productivity went waaaaaaaay down during the CA trial.

Lol I work from home too. I have a second monitor connected to my laptop and I also have a mirror above my desk so I can see the tv behind me. I have been all kinds of distracted since I started watching the trial and joined WS!

I'm so glad I didn't watch the CA trial. I think she's guilty as sin, but was not overly shocked at the verdict. From my bits and pieces perspective, I didn't think they had enough evidence to tie her to the murder. I'm sure I would have felt different if I had actually watched the trial though. Poor Caylee. :( Karma will catch up with her eventually! :furious:

I think you'll find he paid for her trip with his credit card he has for company expenses. That could be why Chris was upset with him regarding the finances. I bet all those checks in January were to cover what he spent on her and he had been told to tell her to repay for her trips. She had written "airline" on one of the checks so it was not a loan, Jodi owned that money to him. jmo

BBM - I'm an alt-tabber....ROFL

I work while I listen but every now and again the testimony REQUIRES me to see as well....so it goes like this...

Working on document, listening to testimony...must see
Alt-tab to stream...
Boss gets up from chair and starts heading this way....
Alt-tab to document
Boss goes away...
Alt-tab to stream....

ALL DAY LONG!! ROFLMAO :floorlaugh:

I keep WS up on my computer. I stream from my phone with ear piece in. I am on the "guest" wifi so as to not really violate internet use policy. :innocent: at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I see what you're saying but going to the courthouse day in and day out for what seems like repeat testimony, or droning on about totally irrelevant stuff (like what kind of coffee drink she ordered), is something I'm quite sure the jurors would prefer not to do. Jury duty is a civil responsibility and while I may be happy to serve most people are not. They do it as their responsibility but many times it is with reluctance. To make these jurors sit through these ramblings is unfair to them, IMO.

I'll take that whole liquid lunch thing, I can't decide who I hate listening to more, JA or Nurmi! ;)

MOO :moo:

Did you notice JM's legal pad last week?? He had pages and pages and pages of notes. I'm glad he had a four day weekend because it gave his office a little more time to check some of Jodi's statements out for this week or the next. jmo

Sorry, that was a quote from Lambchop~

she is going to lie to the end. i think she'll get lwop. it's apparent to me she was in pure rage. i can't imagine that much anger. she stabbed him in the back of the skull so hard it chipped the bone.

just wanted to elaborate, she almost has to lie with the self defense plea. i don't think the jury is believing her. in the end they'll give her lwop. she will never again have any choices of what to eat or what to wear. she'll never again see the outside world. the last trip she ever went on was to kill. all because she was angry and has no conscience. if she suddenly breaks down and i don't think she will and admits the truth that she was jealous and killed in crime of passion, i don't think it would make any difference in the sentence.
