Need someone to interpret the denial of a stay in the death penalty portion of the trial. I think I got it. Death penalty is not off the table, trial will continue. The high court will issue an opinion at a later date. She is dead meat!

:waitasec: Taking a "wild guess" here : WHICH arm do you want the needle, Jodi ?

I'm probably behind you all but I just heard that the defense is asking Supreme Court to stop DP if this goes into penalty phase.

They KNOW what's coming Moday IMO

But can they do this NOW? Will it work? OMG

I believe they can continue to ask up until the jury returns with their verdict. And Jodi can plea up until the jury comes back.

*I will be TOTALLY shocked if she does plea I'm not counting on her to do so though).

At least they know it, Jodi truly believe she can win this.

Like, I said, her lawyers are no longer needed, she doing a very fine job of hanging herself.

The Prosecution and The Defense both need a vacation after having to deal with this sociopath.

I can't even imagine what it is like having to defend somebody like this nor having this brat anywhere near.

Her Lawyers need to take her by the shoulders and spin her around. She seems to respond well to that.

Supreme Court: DENIED!

They denied the emergency stay. They will take up the merits of it later though, so they could still rule in the defense's favor. jmo

Doing everything they can to avoid the DP is what a defense attorney does... he knows he's f'd up her defense so he's throwing everything he can to "muddy waters". This will continue during and after the trial.

But, unless some "big bombshell" happens, I don't see the courts changing previous rulings.

I just know that there is NO WAY after she allegedly caught him "M" to a photo of a young boy, walked IN on him...then moved and angel on the dresser (her sex vs religion thing she does with each sex lie to maybe make it sacrilegious ?) she then leaves so sick to her stomach, so traumatized at the site of that she vomits everywhere gets a migraine.

Then a couple hours later engaged in a NORMAL text conversation with him about trading cars.

This is one of the most obvious lies to date. If I caught a man I was dating "M" to photos of boys, I would skip the angel re-arranging in the room, or I might hurl it his head and knock him out. I'd walk out and never speak to him again. That's it, over, done.

YOU don't chit chat later about cars unless its a squad car to pick him up!

Exactly my thoughts!

I suppose most rational people who M to pictures or whatever floats their boat would do so in a secure environment - i.e., lock doors especially in a house that is shared by others. It seems very unlikely that he M'd (to normal type of stuff not boys) minutes after she left the house in a huff.

Knowing her unstable behavior, its laughable that she wants us to believe that he broke out the kiddie 🤬🤬🤬🤬 moments after she left without a care in the world who walked in on him. Like...OK, she's gone, I can break this stuff out with reckless abandonment.

I remember her saying she had an ice coffee when she met Travis at a Starbucks .... I remember it because it made me want one!

For years the strawberry creme drink has been my favorite @ Starbucks, I do not think I'll ever get another one now.

Ok do I have this right..

EF told JA on phone/interview that shot 1st then told Media Interview & testifying that the shot 1st..

BUT.. JA has BUILT/CREATED her version of the act around the shot being 1st from what EF (JMO) told her.. Now ME says.. NOPE it was stab to the heart .. thus her BS story looks like what it is.. BS!

So if they say that they want a "stay of the aggravated portion of the trial" until after the court has held a hearing about it, what does that mean? Are they trying to prevent JM from questioning her about the murder itself?

I'm wondering if this is a delaying tactic -- that Jodi's beginning to realize that, once again, she's "over her head" and now wants several days to negotiate some kind of plea?

Have fun. I will be gone 8 days. 8 days :what::what: My Mister doesn't mind the time i spend here. Thus the rule when we vacation-no electronics. This will be tough. I see many cocktails next week lol

Maybe Mormon Attorney can text you the lies busted summary each day...:floorlaugh: Very succinct. Have fun! :blushing: I was away for part of the closing statements in CA. Took my netbook.

She sure does. Did she have any friends in her hometown of Yreka, CA?

And she has seemed to have worked everywhere.

Someone like Jodi is not going to able to get along with the co-workers, and as a waitress, I can't believe she would get along with the customers. Any back-talk, and she would be livid.

:rocker: I am re-listening to yesterday morning's testimony ... It is sooooooooooo worth re-listening to :great:

:great: Here's just a few of my favorite questions from Mr. Martinez !

JM: "Did I ask you whether or not you called her stupid, ma'am?"

JM: "Do you have problems with your memory, ma'am?"

JM: "Yes or No."

JM: "So you can tell us, for example, what kind of coffee you bought at Starbucks back on June 3, 2008, but you can't tell us what you said yesterday or the day before."

JM: "You seem to have a double standard here with regards to making comments about people, don't you?"

JM: "Yes or No."

JM: "You were being territorial about him, weren't you?"

JM: "So are you telling me that fabricating a text message is not a lie?"

JM: "Yes or No."

:waitasec: I lost count of how many "Yes" or "No" ... "Yes or No" ...

:great::great: I think Mr. Martinez did a fabulous job !!!

Oh yes. And I also love when he's talking about her confronting Travis regarding him seeing another woman and asks "What RIGHT did you have to do that?"

I'm getting to a point where I'm kind of surprised that JA's defense was that the stabbing and shooting was part of some violent sex-thrill that was totally Travis' idea.

"Well after 26 stabbings he seemed to still be enjoying it and then after 27 he wouldn't move. I thought he'd fell asleep so I left."

I wouldn't have put it past her.

"Travis just begged and begged me to shoot him in the face! He really loved it! I, of course, really did not want to but I didn't want anybody else to have to be exposed to dark, hidden side of Travis and I really wanted to help him. WE LOVED EACH OTHER AND DON'T YOU FORGET IT. I felt it was my job as responsible gun owner, A+Mormon, community activist and All Around BG (Best GIRLFRIEND! SQUEEEE!!)"

Of course it's T's fault and if it's not his fault it will be SOMEbodies fault but it will never, EVER, be JODI'S fault. This is the same Jodi who sat on the stand and testified sober as a deacon about how she bought a gun (after she shot somebody in the face) because she wanted to demonstrate responsible gun ownership and coyly referred to being courted (after we've heard all about anal sex and seen up close up pics of her booty hole, live and in living color.)

She is full of *****. Just full of it.

BBM

This is Monday morning quarterbacking, but he should have said the price of gas thing instead. Her answer was slippery enough to seem plausible. The price of gas thing would be harder to explain. JMO
BBM

Oh my gosh, Steely Dan, I was thinking the VERY same thing! That was an oddly specific detail ($4.78/gallon) from June of 2008?!? I wish he would've used that, but I think he got his point across anyway.

I remember her saying she had an ice coffee when she met Travis at a Starbucks .... I remember it because it made me want one!

It was the incident where she gave him a bj in the car, adjusted the mirror and left without kissing her.

I wish he'd remembered that at the time.

Do we know if Jodi had any knowledge that the magazines would come into evidence? Or, did she think she got away with this little nasty ploy!?

I asked similar question and was told by katiecoolady who was at court that day and spoke to a court worker who claimed to know that the defense team (ergo Jodi) knew well in advance on their end about the magazines, and that any appearances of "shock" was just a huge act. I noticed Nurmi did not make a huge hissyfit over it like previous entries, which seems to support the claim that he knew it was coming and that it was admissible. His objection was "for show"

So what if she did shoot him first to incapacitate him. It was obviously her intent to slice him up. He was a big guy, much bigger than her. If she wanted to stab him to death in her anger, she knew she'd only have one shot at that before he'd overtake her. Shooting him in the head first would certainly prevent that I'd think? I personally think a lot of the stab wounds were from him trying to get away after the gunshot perhaps? If that's not unusually cruel I don't know what is.

MOO

ETA: Wouldn't you have to believe her self defense theory before believing that shooting first was not cruel?

It was denied. Will be heard at a later date. I suspect if/when she gets a DP verdict. Trial will move forward. I would assume part of her Appeals?
